Chapter 107: Chapter 106: Great Development

Xu Yinyin’s small face was deathly pale. With her chin resting on her father’s shoulder and her little hands clenched tightly together, her eyes constantly scanned the bloodied, injured people.

"Yu, are Sun Wuyan and his gang dead?"

"Looking at Chairman Wu and Mr. Han’s injuries, this operation must have been incredibly difficult, right?"

Faced with the crowd’s relentless questioning, Yu and the other Awakened who had participated in the operation began to recount their thrilling experience.

"SIGH, it’s a long story..."

They recounted everything: from infiltrating the hotel’s perimeter and discovering the hidden sentries, to Han Ning striking like a thunderbolt to capture the prisoners. From learning of Sun Wuyan’s conspiracy through interrogation, to his risky move of smearing King’s Blood to attract the snakes. From Han Ning’s heaven-shaking roar as he crushed Sun Wuyan and his Captains with overwhelming force, right up to their encounter with the terrifying Four-Armed Snake Monster Leader. And finally, the tragic breakout amidst the torrential rain and the encirclement of the Black Snake Swarm...

Every detail made the listeners’ hearts pound and held them breathless.

When they heard how Han Ning clashed head-on with the Four-Armed Snake Monster Leader and ultimately broke through the siege with his heavily injured companions under everyone’s cover, they all breathed a long sigh of relief.

Although this operation hadn’t brought back any substantial material gains, hearing that a major threat like Sun Wuyan and his elites had been completely eradicated filled everyone with the immense satisfaction of a long-awaited revenge.

"Well done!"

"Those bastards got what they deserved!"

Low murmurs echoed in the conference room, the previous tension having entirely dissipated.

Privately, Xu Ming leaned close to Han Ning and reported in a low voice, "Boss, the Wind Chaser and the other unpolluted boats are safely anchored in the deepwater area on the east side of the commercial district. I checked them over—the hulls are intact, and the diesel engines are fine.

"Snow Cake is guarding them, so they’re perfectly safe."

"Good work." Han Ning nodded, already aware of the general situation. "Let’s rest for today. Everyone’s exhausted. We’ll deal with things tomorrow."

"Understood."

The exhausted crowd huddled together in the freezing office area, wrapping themselves in clothes or curtain fabric as they fell peacefully asleep.

Early the next morning.

The sky was just beginning to lighten. Bright and early, Chairman Wu gathered all the Awakened who could still move, and they sat together in a circle. He leaned back in a battered office chair, his complexion looking much better. Lin Qianqian had also woken up. Her charming face was slightly pale, making her look somewhat fragile and evoking a protective urge in others—a stark contrast to her previously capable and decisive aura.

"First of all, we should congratulate ourselves on surviving another day," Chairman Wu cracked a small joke, revealing a weak smile.

He scanned the crowd before his gaze finally landed on Han Ning. "Mr. Han, what are your thoughts on our current situation?"

Everyone’s eyes immediately focused on Han Ning.

Ever since the battle in the Fog Area, Han Ning’s status in everyone’s hearts had become unshakable. Now, it was even more deeply rooted. Although most people understood that Mr. Han didn’t actually consider them his companions—he was more like a guest seeking temporary shelter—it didn’t hinder their respect and gratitude toward him.

Han Ning voiced his thoughts:

"The Biyun Resort area has probably become the nest of the Black Snake Swarm.

"However, based on my past experiences hunting Black Snake Monsters elsewhere, a Leader Level monster like the Four-Armed Black Snake Monster won’t station itself in a place devoid of resource points.

"They are highly likely to live in a place abundant in Energy, similar to the Fog Area.

"Therefore, the probability of the Four-Armed Black Snake Monster occupying the Biyun Resort is low.

"I speculate that once the Four-Armed Black Snake Monster feels there is no longer a threat, it will likely leave with the majority of the swarm, leaving behind only some common Black Snake Monsters.

"If that’s the case, regular Awakened might be able to try approaching those remaining common Black Snake Monsters."

"Approach them?" The crowd’s expressions shifted upon hearing this.

"Yes. Try to approach them, kill them, and farm Energy."

Vice President Zhao caught on. "Mr. Han, are you suggesting we use those Black Snake Monsters to improve our strength?"

"Exactly," Han Ning nodded. "The Black Snake Monsters have massive numbers, but their individual strength is relatively weak. As long as there isn’t a Leader Level monster holding down the fort, the risk of hunting them will be vastly reduced."

The Awakened of Biyun Resort were unfamiliar with Black Snake Monsters, but Han Ning knew them well. A solitary Black Snake Monster was barely stronger than an ordinary human.

"Previously, hunting in the Fog Area required the assistance of a Spirit Element Awakened to resist Spiritual Shock. The environment was complex, and the risks were extremely high.

"Now, the Black Snake Monsters are outside the Fog Area in a relatively open environment. As long as we organize properly and cooperate with one another, we can absolutely treat the Biyun Resort as a hunting ground."

Han Ning’s words were like a stone tossed into a tranquil lake, stirring ripples in everyone’s hearts. His suggestion had perfectly struck a chord with the Awakened of Biyun Resort.

What did everyone desire most right now? Aside from rebuilding their home, it was quickly elevating their strength to have a higher capacity to withstand risks!

Hearing Han Ning’s advice, the Awakened’s eyes lit up with burning intensity.

Chairman Wu slapped his armrest. "Mr. Han makes a valid point. Our group does indeed need to improve our strength." Recalling how powerless they had been against the Black Snake Swarm, his sense of urgency only deepened.

"As for the rest of the ordinary people, going back is impossible. They can only find a new habitat," Han Ning added. "You guys can look for a new settlement, or you can just stay here. Most places are destined to be submerged anyway. Wherever the boats can sail is where we will move."

Han Ning did not participate in their subsequent discussion, simply listening from the sidelines.

After the Awakened of Biyun Resort deliberated, they ultimately decided to temporarily settle in this commercial district to recover their Primordial Qi. It was relatively safe and not far from the resort, making it a decent foothold.

Chairman Wu even drafted some sort of "Two-Week Strengthening Plan," aiming to raise the strength of the vast majority of ordinary Awakened to the level of previously deceased Awakened like Chen Feng and Lu Yunping. Meanwhile, the Vice President would strive to push their upper limit, aiming for the strength of Sun Wuyan’s Hexagram.

After the discussion concluded, Han Ning found Professor Ye, who was currently inspecting the damaged seeds.

"Professor Ye, how is it? Are the seeds alright?"

"They’re okay. We relocated them in time, so most were preserved." Seeing that it was Han Ning, Professor Ye stopped his work and sighed. "It’s just that the set of experimental equipment is gone. We left in such a hurry yesterday that we didn’t have time to pack it.

"And all that cultivated soil... SIGH!"

"It’s fine. We will go back. I believe it won’t be long," Han Ning said with a faint smile. "Chairman Wu plans to settle in this office building for the time being. We’ll stick with them. Go find a suitable place to plant the crops and start over."
