The Adopted Cannon Fodder Made a Comeback
Chapter 528 - 511: Perverted Woman
Lin Sui’er then shared many interesting stories from school. All in all, her university life was vibrant and very fun.
Watching the radiant Sui’er, Gu’er felt a faint sense of envy. She had never been to a school—well, it wasn’t that she’d never been educated, just not formally. She was actually very envious that Sui’er could go to university. Even though going to university didn’t guarantee a good job, it was a precious life experience.
’But I wasn’t so fortunate as to have that experience.’ Now that Sui’er had gone, she thought it was wonderful. She believed these four years would also give Sui’er a great deal.
When Lin Shan returned and saw the whole family together, he was also very happy. That evening, Sun Jiaming had a few drinks with Lin Shan, and the dinner lasted for nearly two hours before everyone dispersed.
The next day, Lin Sui’er went over to the Sun Family’s home to see Lin Shuying. She chatted with Lin Shuying for a long time and had lunch there. In the afternoon, Sui’er dragged Gu’er out to go shopping.
"Can we hurry up? Jiji’s at home, and I just feel so unsettled."
Gu’er watched Lin Sui’er trying on clothes, her mind elsewhere.
"Oh, Sis, how did you end up like this? Honestly, you have a baby and suddenly you have no life of your own. There are so many people at home watching him, and my brother-in-law is home too. What could possibly happen? What are you so worried about? I don’t care, you’re spending this afternoon with me. We’re going to have a proper shopping trip. Quick, try this on. I think this outfit would look great on you."
Lin Sui’er chided as she handed an outfit to Gu’er.
"Just buy what you want. I don’t need anything. My department store has all kinds of clothes, I can just grab a few outfits in a couple of days."
Gu’er didn’t want to try it on. She wasn’t very interested in this. If she had the time, she’d much rather be with her child, be affectionate with Sun Jiaming, or even go see Marina and Dian Dian, or chat with the grandmas.
"The clothes in your store are your own. You already know all the styles. It’s different in other people’s shops! The styles here are new to us, and they’re not expensive. It’d be great to buy a couple of new things to wear for a change. Come on, Sis. If you don’t try it, I’m not leaving."
Sui’er played her trump card.
Gu’er had no choice but to get up and try it on. And you had to admit, it looked really good on her. She was tall, pretty, and had a great figure—a natural clothes hanger.
"Hey, Sis, when will I ever be as big as you?"
Sui’er said, staring enviously at Gu’er’s chest.
Gu’er had a slender waist that didn’t look like she’d given birth at all, but her bust was very full. While Sui’er also had a slender waist, she wasn’t as buxom as Gu’er.
"Oh, get out of here! What are you talking about? Aren’t you afraid someone will hear you? They’ll laugh you out of the store."
Gu’er shot Sui’er a look. Even though Sui’er had lowered her voice and no one else heard, they were still out in public, and it wasn’t appropriate to say such things.
"Okay, okay, I won’t say it. I’ll stop."
Sui’er quickly shut her mouth. She knew she shouldn’t have said something like that.
"But Sis, this outfit really does look good on you. You should buy it."
Sui’er looked her up and down, thinking the clothes were quite nice.
"Fine, let’s buy it. We’ll buy the one you’re wearing too. And pick one out for our mom, and for my mother-in-law, just so no one feels left out."
Gu’er nodded. It was just a few pieces of clothing; what mattered was that everyone was happy.
"Thanks, Sis!"
Sui’er happily picked out clothes. Shopping for clothes was her favorite thing to do. ’If you don’t wear nice things when you’re young, when will you? When you’re old and they don’t look good anymore?’ This was why she had dragged Gu’er out. Even if you were married with a child, you should still have your own life.
Then Sui’er dragged Gu’er along to continue shopping. Gu’er had no idea where Sui’er got such a huge shopping addiction. She went into store after store, trying on everything. If she liked something, she bought it. If it didn’t look good, she’d pass. In just over an hour, she must have tried on dozens of outfits. Watching her change in and out of clothes was making Gu’er feel exhausted.
Gu’er didn’t like shopping. Perhaps it was a habit from her past life, when she rarely shopped because she had no money and no time. In this life, she rarely browsed unless it was necessary. ’So, someone like Sui’er is more like a typical woman, I guess.’
"Sis, Sis, come quick! Look at this outfit, I guarantee it’ll look amazing on you."
Carrying all her bags, Sui’er seemed to have boundless energy. She had spotted another piece of clothing and was already rushing over, calling out for Gu’er.
"What’s with all the shoving? Didn’t you feel you bumped into me? Have you never seen clothes before, or have you not worn any in eight lifetimes? Or are you looking for a burial shroud so you can hurry up and get reincarnated?"
Just then, a heavyset woman had apparently been bumped by one of Sui’er’s bags, but it certainly wasn’t serious. The store was crowded with shoppers, and it was normal for people to jostle one another. Sui’er hadn’t even felt herself bump into the woman. If she had, she definitely would have apologized. But the woman opened her mouth with such vile words that even someone who wanted to apologize wouldn’t anymore.
"What’s with your attitude? If I bumped you, I’m sorry, but do you have to talk like that? Have you no decency at all?"
Sui’er frowned. Shopping was supposed to be a happy occasion. It wasn’t like she’d never been jostled before; it was normal. She never said a word when it happened to her. Why was this person like this, cursing at the drop of a hat?
"So what if I’m talking about you? You shameless hussy! Look at you, you’re obviously no good. Can you even afford to compensate me for bumping into me?"
The heavyset woman retorted with even viler words.
"We can afford it."
Gu’er had come up by this time. Neither she nor Sui’er were the type to look for trouble, but this heavyset woman was going too far. Her words were a personal insult.
"My sister bumped into you, and that was wrong. If you want compensation, fine, we’ll pay. Tell us, how much do you want?"
Gu’er stood before the heavyset woman. Gu’er wasn’t an aggressive person by nature, but when faced with someone aggressive and unreasonable, she could be even more aggressive.
"Sis."
Sui’er tugged on Gu’er’s sleeve, but Gu’er just shook her head at her.
"Hah, another tough one. Fine, you said you can afford it, right? Let me tell you, your sister hit my arm. Who knows if it’s broken? And you’ve delayed me. If you’re going to compensate me, it’ll have to be at least five hundred yuan, right? Can you even come up with that?"
The heavyset woman looked at Gu’er and Sui’er with disdain. ’These two are sisters. They’re dressed well and carrying a lot of bags, so they probably aren’t short on cash. But two sisters this beautiful can’t be good people. They probably found some rich man to give them money. People like that are afraid of making a scene, afraid of losing face. I’m not. They won’t dare to fight with me. I can extort some money from them, buy a few nice outfits, and get myself all dressed up. They walked right into this. Besides, they make their money off men with their pretty faces, so it’d be a waste not to take some for myself.’
So the heavyset woman made an outrageous demand for five hundred yuan. In reality, she wasn’t hurt at all; Sui’er’s bag had only brushed against her. She was just resentful because Sui’er was beautiful and had bought so many things.
She found that cursing at someone so good-looking made her feel better. This was the kind of twisted mentality that couldn’t stand to see others doing well.

I’m in the final stages, but I’ve got writer’s block... The book should be finished next month, but I’ll definitely write the update I promised. Tonight’s update will be late. I haven’t even had lunch yet, and I probably won’t get to. I still have to deliver something and pick up my kid.
