Chapter 527 - 509: Bullying the Weak and Fearing the Strong

"So you’re saying a lot of boys at school are chasing you?"

Gu’er asked, and Chen Fengjiao also stared at Lin Sui’er. She had asked before, and her daughter said she didn’t have a boyfriend, but she was afraid her daughter wasn’t telling her the truth.

"Of course. There are tons of guys chasing me. You have to know, I’m the class beauty. Even though I wasn’t voted campus belle, I made the top ten on our school’s beauty list. That Wang Shan is just jealous of me."

Lin Sui’er nodded. Her parents had given her good looks, and that was an asset.

"Sui’er, you’re at school to study. Don’t forget how hard it was for you to get into university. You can’t just mess around. Those boys only approach you because you’re pretty, so you can’t let them fool you. Who knows what their families do or where they’re from? If they’re from some remote village, you’ll just end up suffering in the future."

Chen Fengjiao said hurriedly, terrified that her daughter had already found a boyfriend—and one she wouldn’t approve of, at that.

Lin Sui’er knew what her mom was thinking, but she really wasn’t dating anyone right now.

"Alright, alright, Mom won’t nag you. As long as you know what you’re doing. But if you really do find someone, you have to tell me, okay? I’ll need to check him out for you."

Chen Fengjiao still wasn’t reassured.

Lin Sui’er glanced at her but didn’t say anything more. ’Even if I date in college, it doesn’t guarantee we’ll end up together. It all depends on where we work after graduation.’ This was all stuff she’d learned from others after starting school, so she felt her mom could completely stop worrying about her.

So she went and told him that I was sleeping around with rich men, that my morals were loose, that I’d found some old sugar daddy or something. The school got involved and investigated us, so I explained the situation. When that Wang Shan found out who our dad is, she was totally stunned. Then she came to apologize to me, but I ignored her. The school gave her a demerit. After that, she kept trying to find me, saying she wanted to make up, but there’s no way I’d make up with her. She’s the type who bullies the weak and fears the strong. I don’t want to be friends with someone like that. Then she latched onto some female upperclassman from a well-off family, and after that, she found someone to get her transferred out of our dorm because no one in the room would talk to her."

Lin Sui’er briefly recounted what had happened. She never talked about her family’s connections after going to school because she felt there was nothing to say, nothing to show off. There were so many powerful people in the country; who knew who was backing whom? So she kept quiet to avoid trouble. But when the school investigated, she had to speak up for the sake of her reputation. She never did anything out of line, though. Gu’er advised Sui’er. A school is just a miniature society; you’ll find all sorts of people. Just because you’re a good student and got into university doesn’t mean you have good character. There are people with all kinds of ulterior motives, so you have to be careful.

"How about we have your dad call the school’s leadership?"
