Chapter 462: Chapter 142: Two Moms! A Big Job Is Here
They brandished various Sea Race weapons, letting out bursts of sharp, piercing shrieks.
At the same time, the Blue Scarf Rebel Army made a swift landing from the flank in small boats. They were all elite members of the Blue Scarf, fully equipped and armed with high-quality weapons.
Under the command of Abyssal Priest Su Moyi and Frost Throat Hosen, it took only a few moments for these Naga Fishmen and Blue Scarf elites to completely encircle the camp.
"We surrender! We surrender!"
Seeing how dire the situation was, some students immediately raised their hands in surrender.
The elite students from the Imperial Capital Academy, in particular, were the most pathetic.
After Lynch had stripped them of all their equipment a few days prior, they were left completely unarmed. That, combined with how Lynch had utterly shattered their confidence, meant their mental fortitude had long since crumbled.
Now, facing the ferocious sea raiders, they put up almost no resistance, one by one choosing to kneel and surrender, crying and begging for mercy.
"Don’t kill me! I surrender! I’m a student at the Imperial Capital Academy! My family is rich, we can pay a ransom!" Karl von Hohenlohe had lost every last shred of his chief student’s arrogance. He knelt on the ground, snot and tears streaming down his face, his body trembling like a leaf. "My grandfather is the patriarch of the House of Hohenzollern! You can have as much money as you want!"
"What a bunch of worthless trash." Hosen glanced at the kneeling students from the Imperial Capital, his eyes filled with contempt. With a wave of his hand, he ordered, "Seize them all."
The situation deteriorated rapidly.
Although Masters Shivana, Gwen, and Lianna were quite powerful, there were only three of them. They could only manage to lead the small number of students and assistant teachers still able to fight in a retreat to the small plaza at the center of the camp. There, they mounted a desperate last stand, using a few stone buildings and hastily erected barricades for cover.
The swarming sea raiders and Blue Scarves had them surrounded so tightly that escape was impossible. Their situation was perilous.
"Are we... are we really going to die here today?"
Staring at the ever-growing number of enemies around them, Lianna’s face was pale as she clutched her staff. Her voice was tinged with an unconscious trace of despair.
Master Gwen, also covered in blood, gave a bitter smile. "I just hope... Buddy and the others get back soon..."
However, everyone knew that the Sea of Shattered Stars was nearly a two-day voyage away. Even if they had already received the magical distress message and set off immediately, by the time they arrived, all they would be able to do was collect their corpses.
Just then, Frost Throat Hosen’s voice rang out.
"Shivana, and you other two, give up the fight."
He and the Abyssal Priest Su Moyi approached the front of the encirclement. His cold gaze swept over the battered remnants of their forces behind the barricades. "Considering you are all talented individuals," he said, his voice icy, "I can give you one chance. I will allow you to join the Draenei Brotherhood. Join us to overthrow this corrupt Empire and let all people live a better life."
Shivana sneered, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth. "You Blue Scarves are good at shouting slogans, but that’s all they are... slogans. You people don’t do a single decent thing. You burn, kill, and plunder—no different from common bandits."
"To achieve great things, one must be unscrupulous," Hosen said calmly, his expression unchanged. "Once we overthrow the Empire, we will naturally change for the better. The sacrifices of today are for a brighter future."
"Once a bandit, always a bandit," Shivana said coldly, her emerald eyes filled with disgust. "My student, Blackthorn, was corrupted by your seductions, eventually becoming something neither human nor ghost. And now, you Blue Scarves are even cooperating with the notorious Abyssal Hunters... Of course, you’re not much better yourselves. You’re all just birds of a feather."
"Hosen, stop wasting your breath on her." The Abyssal Priest Su Moyi writhed her snakelike tail impatiently, a mad light glinting in her compound eyes. "You promised me. All of these people will be sacrificed to the great Thousand-Whiskered Lord... Only with enough flesh and souls can Lord Moragis truly descend."
Hosen shot her a cold glance before turning back to Shivana, his tone tinged with a hint of regret. "I appreciate talent, so I’ll give you one last chance. If you refuse to join our Brotherhood..."
With a wave of his hand, a group of captured students were dragged into the center of the plaza. They were kicked and beaten by the Blue Scarves until they were all kneeling.
Hosen pointed at them and said coldly, "Every student on this island will be sacrificed to the Thousand-Whiskered Lord. Their deaths will be on your hands, all because of your stubbornness."
"Despicable!"
The faces of Shivana and the other two masters were filled with rage. Lianna was so furious she was shaking.
However, the Abyssal Priest Su Moyi was already getting impatient. Before Shivana and the others could even think of a way to stall for time, she had already begun.
She brandished her Magic Staff, commanding the Naga Warriors to start bleeding the captured students. They began to use the captives’ blood to draw a massive Sacrificial Array.
The academy elites, normally so high and mighty, were now scared out of their wits. Some cried and begged for mercy, while others were so terrified they lost control of their bowels and bladders, kowtowing desperately. The scene was chaotic and tragic.
"Please, spare me! I’ll join! I’ll join the Blue Scarves!"
"Don’t sacrifice me! My family has money! I’ll give you money!"
"Master! Save me! Save me!"
Seeing this, the expressions on the faces of Shivana, the other two masters, and their remaining soldiers turned utterly grim.
Shivana, in particular, watched as the students, once so full of life, were about to be sacrificed right before her eyes. The hand gripping her longbow began to tremble, and a flicker of doubt crossed her eyes.
’If I surrender, can I save these students...?’
Just then, a small Skeleton Squirrel appeared from nowhere. It nimbly scurried up Shivana’s long, athletic thigh and quickly climbed onto her shoulder.
Shivana instinctively raised a hand to slap the bizarre Undead Creature away, but in that very instant, a faint yet clear wave of Spiritual Power echoed directly in her mind.
"Master Shivana, this is Lynch Blackwood... From now on, follow my orders."
’Lynch?!’
Shivana’s body gave an imperceptible shudder, and a flash of incredulous joy lit up her emerald eyes.
’That kid... He didn’t run away? He’s been watching from the shadows this whole time?’
However, before she could respond with her own Spiritual Power, Frost Throat Hosen, who was opposite her, seemed to notice something. His brow furrowed suddenly, and his cold, gray eyes swept in her direction.
Shivana’s heart clenched.
In a flash, she demonstrated the astonishing reflexes of a Tier Seven Peak Forest Ranger.
She feigned annoyance, shrugging her shoulder and casually flicking her right hand at it, as if brushing away a pesky insect.
In reality, however, her fingers deftly closed around the Skeleton Squirrel in a flash. Then, using the natural swing of her arm, she flipped her wrist and tucked it downward.
The small Skeleton Squirrel tumbled down, sliding through a gap in her leather armor and into the deep ravine of her cleavage, where it was held fast.
"Oof—!?"
Lynch, who was sharing the Skeleton Squirrel’s vision through a spiritual link, suddenly felt his view spin wildly. An instant later, a vast expanse of soft, white light filled his entire field of vision.
At the same time, he also felt... a soft, suffocating pressure.
Lynch was completely stunned.
’Wh-where did she stick me?’
’Why is everything suddenly a blur of white!?’
