That's How We Necromancers Do Things
Chapter 437 - 140: You Beast, Lynch Blackwood
Chapter 437: Chapter 140: You Beast, Lynch Blackwood
...
I had to admit, this elite unit formed by the top students of the Imperial Capital Academy was quite formidable once they worked together.
"CRACK! CRACK!"
The Skeleton Servants fell in droves.
Under the searing Holy Light, the Tier One Skeleton Soldiers were quickly scorched black. The animating spirit in their bones rapidly faded, and in the blink of an eye, they were reduced to piles of withered bone.
Even the Tier Two Skeleton Warriors were quickly shattered by the dense magical bombardment, their bone fragments flying everywhere.
And Carl himself, like an unsheathed sword, led the charge straight toward Lynch.
"For the Holy Light!"
He roared, and an intense golden Holy Light erupted from his body, forming a thick "Holy Light Shield" in front of him.
With every step of his charge, his aura swelled until he resembled a high-speed armored vehicle, his momentum simply astonishing.
And he wasn’t charging alone.
He was flanked by protectors on his left and right.
To his left was a Tier Two Middle Stage Shield Warrior. He wielded a tower shield and a shortsword, his steps steady, dedicated to blocking any flanking attacks.
On his right was a Tier Two Middle Stage Berserker. His bare torso was a mass of knotted muscle, and he swung a massive double-bladed War Axe with ferocious power, shattering any Skeleton Soldier that dared to approach.
The trio moved in perfect rhythm, maintaining a stable arrowhead formation as they charged, their target aimed squarely at Lynch himself!
The Black Corpses and Skeleton Soldiers guarding Lynch immediately rushed forward, attempting to block the trio’s advance.
Seeing this, the "Hammer of Holy Light Judgment" in Carl’s hand flared with a blinding Holy Light as he swung it directly at the nearest Tier Two Black Corpse.
"BOOM~!!"
When the Holy Hammer struck the Black Corpse, the dense Holy Light reacted with the creature’s necrotic energy, triggering a violent explosion.
The Black Corpse was sent flying backward from the blast, and it lay twitching on the ground, unable to rise.
Its chest was deeply caved in. Golden Holy Light still clung to the wound, searing the flesh and causing it to billow black smoke with a constant TSSSSS.
If a Tier Two Black Corpse suffered such a fate, there was no need to mention those weaker than Tier Two. They were smashed to pieces with a single blow of his hammer, their sizzling remains turning to charcoal in moments.
"Kill!"
The Shield Warrior on the left lunged forward. His heavy tower shield parried the Bone Knives of three Skeleton Soldiers, and his shortsword struck out like a viper, precisely piercing the eye socket of a Black Corpse.
The Berserker on the right let out a bestial roar as his War Axe swept out, brutally cleaving two lunging Black Corpses and sending them flying.
Foul corpse poison tainted the blade of his axe, but it was instantly vaporized by the aura of fury that erupted from his body.
The entire flanking maneuver was well-coordinated and tactically sound, showing impressive discipline.
Had this been an ordinary Tier Three Necromancer—or even a common Tier Four Necromancer—they would most likely have fallen, facing an elite encirclement specifically designed to counter the Undead. The chances were high that Carl’s decapitation strike would have succeeded!
Unfortunately for them, Lynch was no ordinary Tier Three Necromancer. In fact, he was in a league entirely his own.
Facing the trio that crushed forward like a war chariot, Lynch—mounted on the back of his Hellhound, Little Rabbit—was far from panicking. He didn’t even flinch.
He held the Evil Magic Codex in his left hand and the Raven Staff in his right, a faint smile playing on his lips.
He didn’t even bother using the Short Distance Phase Transmission Skill to create distance. He simply raised his Magic Staff slightly, and as he began to chant at incredible speed, the pages of the Scripture in his left hand began to flip on their own with a rustling sound.
"SWISH! SWISH! SWISH~!!"
The two runes for the Tier Three "True Bone Spear Skill" stored in the Evil Magic Codex instantly activated. Along with the Tier Four version of the same skill that Lynch was chanting, three ghastly white bone spears materialized from nothing. They shot through the air with a piercing shriek, one aimed at each of the three warriors.
They moved so fast they left visible ripples in the air behind them.
"Not good!"
The Tier Two Middle Stage Shield Warrior on the left felt his heart clench.
In that instant, his intuition screamed at him. He sensed an aura of extreme danger from the spear hurtling toward him, as if the Grim Reaper’s scythe was already resting on his neck.
Without a moment to think, he instinctively threw his tower shield in front of him and unleashed his Combat Aura to its absolute limit.
The very next instant.
"BANG~!!"
A deafening crash echoed as the speeding bone spear made ’intimate contact’ with his tower shield.
The tower shield—forged from refined steel and engraved with defensive runes—shattered as if it were made of paper!
Shards of the spear and fragments of the shield flew in all directions under the immense force of the impact.
The Shield Warrior himself was sent flying back seven or eight meters as if struck by a Siege Hammer, slamming hard onto the mudflats.
He coughed up a spray of blood, his eyes wide with disbelief. ’How is this possible... What kind of Bone Spear was that...’
Meanwhile, the Berserker on the right had also noticed the bone spear aimed at him.
With a roar, his biceps bulged as he swung his massive double-bladed War Axe horizontally to block the attack.
"CLANG~!!"
Amid an ear-piercing shriek of metal on bone, the spear slammed squarely into the flat of his axe.
