That's How We Necromancers Do Things

Chapter 436: Chapter 139: Just the Beautiful Mentor’s Task (Part 2)
Lynch had just commanded his Undead Army to wipe out a Fishman tribe entrenched here, slaughtering hundreds of them, including a Tier Three Fishman Warrior.
"Master, there are a few peering eyes in the jungle to the southeast. And that hawk in the sky has been circling for a long time."
The voice of the Tier Five ghost, Baring, resounded in Lynch’s mind, a hint of amusement in her tone.
"Mm, I know."
Lynch sat casually atop his Hellish Skeleton Dog, toying with a looted Black Pearl. The corner of his mouth curved into an enigmatic smile.
He appeared to be focused on counting his spoils, preparing to convert the Fishman corpses into Undead Units to bolster his army. In truth, however, he had long been aware of the prying eyes.
He was aware of it all—the hawk in the sky empowered by the Eagle Eye Skill, and the auras deep in the jungle, deliberately suppressed yet unable to escape Baring’s senses. And he was pleased to let it all unfold.
’He was waiting here to fish, after all. And those idiots from the Imperial Capital Academy had finally taken the bait.’
Far away, in the shadows of the jungle.
Several Tier One and Tier Two Mages from the Imperial Capital Academy, along with the Hunter, were observing the situation on the tidal flats through the shared vision of the Eagle Eye Skill. The longer they watched, the more horrified they became.
"My god... Just how many Undead did that guy bring?" a Tier Two fire Mage asked, his voice trembling in shock. "Hundreds of Skeletons, dozens of Black Corpses, and even Tier Three Hellhounds... How could a single student possibly control all this?"
"No wonder that guy is so damn arrogant." The Hunter swallowed hard. "This level of power is terrifying. An ordinary Tier Four Necromancer would probably be at this level, at best!"
When Carl saw this scene through the magical link, he drew a sharp breath, his expression turning grim.
He never would have imagined that Lynch’s Undead Army could be so massive. It was completely beyond his comprehension.
"Carl." The Priest, Lucas, leaned in and whispered, "That guy is on the rugged tidal flats right now, surrounded by forest on three sides and the sea on one. The terrain is not in his favor."
"And it doesn’t look like he’s converted those Fishman corpses into Undead yet. This is his weakest moment. If we wait, he’ll turn those hundreds of corpses into Skeleton Soldiers, find some easily defensible terrain, and then our fight will be much harder."
Naturally, Carl had thought of this as well.
He gritted his teeth, glanced at the twenty-plus Tier Two Peak students behind him, and then touched the ’Holy Light Judgment’ Hammer in his hand, feeling a bit more at ease.
This was the Holy Hammer he had gone to great lengths to persuade the academy to provide for this examination, one specifically designed to counter Undead Units.
He was so worried Lynch might be prepared for it that he hadn’t even taken it out before the examination started.
"What’s there to be afraid of? We came prepared!" Carl hissed. "I have the cultivation of a Tier Three Holy Light Knight, and with the Holy Hammer, I’m more than capable of suppressing his High-Tier Undead. You all tie up the Skeletons on the flanks and create an opening for me to charge in and capture Lynch myself. Once a Necromancer is neutralized, his Undead crumble!"
"Yes," the group replied in unison.
"Move out!"
With a wave of Carl’s hand, the twenty-plus elite students from the Imperial Capital Academy immediately split into three teams. Like three sharp daggers, they began to encircle him from the three landward sides of the flats.
Their movements were swift and their coordination seamless, a clear sign of prior training.
In just a few short moments, they formed an encirclement, trapping Lynch and his Undead Corps in the middle.
Lynch, who was "counting his spoils," seemed to be "shocked" by the sudden ambush from this large group of top Imperial Capital Academy graduates. His face instantly turned deathly pale, and he nearly dropped the Black Pearl in his hand.
"W-what do you want?" Lynch’s voice held an unnatural tremor. "This is an examination! You can’t..."
"Hahaha!"
Seeing Lynch’s reaction, Carl felt completely reassured, his expression growing ever more smug.
He stepped out from the encirclement holding a two-handed warhammer that radiated a golden Holy Light. He looked down on Lynch and sneered.
"Lynch Blackwood, your strength is truly impressive. A master of your art, and bold, too. With an Undead Corps of this size and power, if you had hidden yourself among Hurst and that pack of losers, we would’ve had a much harder time dealing with you. We might have even suffered heavy losses."
"But what a pity... you were foolish enough to get caught all alone! Out here in the wilderness with no one around, even if we kill you and blame it on the island’s Magical Beasts, who’s going to know?"
"You—you’re violating the rules of the examination!" Lynch shouted, feigning a brave front. "If the instructors find out, your results will be invalidated!"
He looked as if he were genuinely terrified. The knuckles of the hand gripping his Magic Staff turned white, and his whole body trembled slightly.
"Rules?" Carl looked like he’d just heard the funniest joke in the world and let out a villainous cackle. "On Silent Island, strength *is* the rule. Attack!"
At his command, the twenty-plus students attacked as one.
In an instant, Holy Light, Fireballs, ice shards, and arrows—a storm of varied attacks—poured down on Lynch’s Undead Corps!
However, in that very instant.
The look of terror on Lynch’s face vanished, replaced by an icy smile.
"Is that so? Then that’s just perfect."
