The Heavenly- Tier Hunting Ground Begins [Part 3]

Then—

BOOM!

A torrent of fire erupted from its mouth.

The flames surged toward the three of them like a burning river.

They didn’t even dodge.

The lizard became excited.

Its flames burned at extreme temperatures.

A direct hit meant certain death for ordinary examinees.

But Selena simply stood there.

Her silver- white hair fluttered behind her in the heat.

Her golden eyes remained calm.

She slowly raised one hand.

"Selena..."

Leon smiled.

She glanced back at him.

"Don’ t worry, darling."

The next instant, her aura exploded.

[White Tiger Judgment!]

A terrifying pressure swept through the forest.

For a brief moment, a phantom of the Divine Beast White Tiger appeared behind her.

Its roar seemed to shake the heavens.

Selena swung her hand.

A sharp wave of power tore through the incoming flames.

Then it struck the Blazing Flame Lizard.

BOOM!

The creature didn’t even have time to react.

Its enormous body was cleaved apart.

The flames surrounding it disappeared instantly.

The LV.21 Boss was dead.

Leon’s wristband flashed.

[+5 Points]

Leon glanced at the notification.

"That’ s 5 points?"

He looked at the corpse.

"Too easy."

Selena walked back toward him.

Evelyn followed closely behind.

The defeated beast slowly dissolved, leaving behind traces of soul energy.

These beasts didn’ t only provide examination points.

They also granted soul energy to Leon’s beast-girls.

Evelyn had yet to break through.

Her accumulated experience would simply be stored until she was ready.

Leon recalibrated his direction.

"Let’ s keep moving."

The three continued deeper into the hunting ground.

With Selena’ s overwhelming combat power, their path quickly became a road of destruction.

Monsters that were supposedly formidable fell one after another.

Some were bisected before they could even approach.

Others had their defense s shattered by a single claw strike.

The deeper they went, the more frequently the notifications appeared.

...

Leon didn’ t slow down.

The forest seemed endless.

Yet Selena continued cutting a path through it.

Before long, the green region disappeared behind them.

They had entered the middle yellow zone.

Leon glanced at his wristband.

His score had reached 125 points.

And every single one of those points had come from boss-level creatures.

These weren’ t weak monsters.

Each one possessed immense vitality, powerful defense s, and terrifying attacks.

The Heavenly-tier hunting ground truly deserved its reputation as the toughest arena.

Ahead lay a thick mist.

It covered the forest like a huge white curtain.

Leon slowed down.

The temperature dropped as they approached.

The moment they entered the mist, visibility fell sharply.

Trees became vague shadows.

Even Selena’ s figure was difficult to see from a distance.

Then—

Whoosh!

A sound came from above.

Then another.

And another.

Soon, the sky was filled with the sound of countless wings.

Evelyn looked upward.

Her purple eyes widened.

A swarm of massive bats emerged from the mist.

Their wings were enormous.

Their bodies were covered in dark crimson fur.

Their eyes glowed with an eerie red light.

Leon looked at the information.

[Phantom Blood B a t s]

[Level: LV.25]

[Rank: Boss]

Leon raise d an eyebrow.

"More boss-level monsters."

There were far too many of them.

The entire sky seemed to move.

"He reached the middle zone already?"

In the viewing hall, Rias’s crimson eyes glowed with appreciation.

Her long crimson hair rested over her shoulders, and her fitted red robe was tied neatly around her narrow waist with a golden sash.

She leaned slightly forward.

Her attention never left Leon’s image on the enormous screen.

Leon’s speed was incredible.

For most examinees, reaching the middle zone took at least an hour.

And that was only for the strongest students.

The middle zone wasn’t simply filled with Phantom Blood Bats.

Other powerful beasts attacked from land and air.

Even top-ranked students struggled here.

They had to defend themselves while trying to maximize their kills.

Rias lightly pressed her lips together.

Too difficult.

She was eager to see what Leon would do next.

Her eyes remained fixed on the screen.

Other Bellemont students weren’t having an easy time.

"Ice Spear!"

Sana drove another ice spear toward the Blazing Flame Lizard.

Her long snow-white hair whipped around her shoulders as her pale blue eyes narrowed.

BOOM!

The spear pierced the lizard.

Its burning scales cracked.

But the creature remained standing.

The wound wasn’t enough.

"This year’s exam is brutal. These lizards are way tougher than last year’s."

Adrian Vale wiped the sweat from his brow.

His dark brown hair was already damp from the heat.

His golden-brown eyes stayed fixed on the beast.

His name was Adrian Vale.

He had finished third in the placement matches.

Sana pushed harder.

A second spear appeared.

Then a third.

The next attack was thicker and longer than the previous ones.

BOOM!

The ice spear drove deep into the lizard’s body.

This time, the beast finally collapsed.

"Yeah, this year is much harder."

Adrian looked toward Sana.

She nodded.

"Way stronger than last year’s Golden Lions."

Adrian glanced at the distant scoreboard.

"I wonder how the others are doing."

She nodded.

"Way stronger than last year’s Golden Lions."

Adrian glanced at the distant scoreboard.

"I wonder how the others are doing."

Back in the middle zone, Leon’s group finally moved through the mist.

The moment they stepped forward, the swarm descended.

Hundreds of Phantom Blood Bats rushed toward them.

Evelyn’s expression became serious.

She raised both hands.

"Venom Weave Dream!"

A massive web suddenly dropped from above.

The poisonous strands spread through the mist like a giant net.

Countless bats became trapped.

They struggled desperately.

Their wings twisted against the sticky web.

Evelyn held her hands steady.

"Got them."

Selena moved.

She became nothing more than a silver blur.

Her claws tore through the tangled swarm.

BOOM!

One bat crashed into the ground.

Another was ripped apart.

Then another.

The battlefield became chaotic.
