The notifications continued appearing.
Evelyn stood beside Leon, watching Selena dominate the battlefield.
Her purple eyes were filled with admiration.
"Leon..." Evelyn said softly, "she’s incredible."
Leon smiled.
He reached over and gently squeezed her hand.
"You’re incredible too, darling Evelyn."
Evelyn blinked.
Leon looked at her warmly.
"You’re still growing—and when you break through, you’ll be just as powerful."
A faint blush appeared on Evelyn’s cheeks.
She leaned against his shoulder for a moment.
"Leon... thank you."
He looked down at her.
"For what?"
"For including me."
Leon turned fully toward her.
"You’re one of us, my spider."
His voice was quiet but firm.
"You always will be."
He gently lifted her chin and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.
Evelyn’s breath caught.
The warmth spreading through her chest had nothing to do with the surrounding battle.
She smiled.
"Then I’ll keep getting stronger."
"That’s my girl."
Leon looked back toward the battlefield.
"Now, let’s show them what we’re made of."
A moment later, Selena landed gracefully beside them.
Her silver-white hair settled around her shoulders.
"The mist is clearing."
She glanced ahead.
"More beasts ahead."
Leon nodded.
"Then we push forward."
He wrapped an arm around Selena’s waist and gave her a quick kiss.
"Ready, my love?"
Selena smiled.
"Always, darling."

Meanwhile, the other top examinees were struggling.
"Ice Spear!"
Sana drove another spear through a lizard.
But this time, it took three attacks to put one down.
Adrian Vale watched the scoreboard.
His brow furrowed.
"Leon’s already at 125 points... how?!"
Sana shook her head.
"He’s not human."
Nearby, Steffan was fighting his own battle.
His blonde hair was damp with sweat, and his green eyes flicked toward the scoreboard.
He saw Leon’s score.
His jaw tightened.
He’s pulling ahead. Already!
His fists clenched.
He couldn’t stand the thought of falling behind.
"Victoria—let’s push harder!"
Victoria’s black hair whipped behind her as golden light surged around her body.
Her black robe fluttered violently.
The form of the Golden Eyed Smoke Lioness emerged around her.
Victoria nodded.
"Understood."
Golden flames spread across the battlefield.

Back in the viewing hall, the atmosphere was electric.
"Leon’s at 125 points already?! The exam started less than an hour ago!"
"That’s insane! Even the second-place student, Adrian, only has 72 points!"
"His beast-girl must be seriously overpowered."
Rias watched the screen with a satisfied smile.
Her crimson eyes gleamed.
She had personally offered Leon the Star-Grade Contract.
She had already recognized that there was something unusual about him.
Now the entire province was beginning to see it too.
As expected of my Star-Grade student.
Her fingers rested lightly against the armrest.
Her smile deepened.
Keep going, Leon.
Show them what you’re capable of.
Evelyn’s web covered an immense area.
But these boss-level creatures were overwhelmingly powerful—even when caught in the web, they could still maintain flight. Their speed, however, was drastically reduced.
The thick strands stretched through the mist like a giant net, covering the trees and filling the air above the battlefield.
Yet the Phantom Blood Bats were not ordinary monsters.
Their wings beat violently against the web.
Some managed to tear through several strands and continue flying, but their movements had become sluggish. Their earlier speed had disappeared.
That brief opening was all Leon needed.
His purple eyes swept across the battlefield.
"Selena—now! Tiger’s Thunderous Roar!"
Selena’s golden eyes sharpened.
"Leave it to me, darling."
Her Spiritual Essence surged.
The air around her trembled.
Then—
ROOOAAAR!
In an instant, the world seemed to shake with a deep, resonant tiger’s roar.
The sound wasn’t merely noise.
It was power.
The mist rippled outward as if an invisible storm had struck it.
Leaves tore from branches.
The ground trembled beneath their feet.
The sound waves spread like tangible force, freezing the surrounding mist in place.
A wave of invisible energy radiated outward from Selena’s body.
The Phantom Blood Bats caught in Evelyn’s web immediately suffered the full force of the attack.
Their shrieks filled the forest.
Some desperately flapped their wings.
Others twisted their bodies, trying to escape the invisible pressure.
It was useless.
The thunderous roar struck their bodies again and again.
Their flesh cracked beneath the force.
Bloody wounds appeared across their bodies as their defenses were overwhelmed.
The Phantom Blood Bats were creatures renowned for speed and illusion abilities.
Normally, they could use their speed to overwhelm an opponent before the opponent even realized what had happened.
But Evelyn had taken away their mobility.
Selena had taken away their freedom to escape.
The combination was devastating.
One after another, the bats fell from the sky.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bodies crashed against the ground.
Some of the bats showed expressions of almost human-like terror.
They struggled desperately.
They twisted.
They clawed at the web.
They beat their wings until the strands snapped around them.
But Selena’s roar had already sealed the sky.
An invisible cage surrounded the battlefield.
There was nowhere to run.
Violet lightning crackled through the air, locking down the entire battlefield.
Evelyn stared at the scene.
Her purple eyes were wide.
"So strong!"
She had fought alongside Selena many times.
Even so, every time Selena displayed her full strength, Evelyn couldn’t help being amazed.
Leon smiled.
"Excellent, dear Selena!"
Selena glanced toward him through the storm of energy.
A small smile appeared on her lips.
"Of course."
The roar continued.
More Phantom Blood Bats fell.
The swarm that had once filled the entire sky was rapidly shrinking.
But Leon noticed something important.
The beasts on the ground weren’t all dead.
Selena’s roar was a wide-area control skill.
Its greatest strength was suppression.
It could restrict movement and heavily damage enemies, but against boss-level creatures with enormous vitality, it couldn’t instantly finish every target.
Evelyn understood the same thing.
Her body flashed.
She had already beastified.
The Toxic Spider’s terrifying limbs moved with deadly precision.
She darted between fallen bats.
One strike.
Then another.
Her sharp lower limbs pierced their vital points.
Throat.
Head.
Chest.
Every attack was precise.
The Phantom Blood Bats were already weakened by Selena’s roar.
Evelyn’s venom entered their bodies through each wound.
Their movements became slower.
Then weaker.
Finally, they stopped moving.
