Chapter 1130: The Only Way!
Chapter 1130: The Only Way!
Kong heard Theloria call his name and recognized her voice, seeing that his old friend still remembered him, even after so many years.
With a calmer look on his old face, the guy with the long hair and white beard stepped forward from Vicente and said with a twinkle in his eye, “Theloria, you’ve become a Transcendent. Congratulations. You may be able to realize the goals we had back there.”
From the small doorway of the white house emerged a woman with short purple hair and white, rather reddish skin, as if she had just come out of a sauna. Surprisingly, she was naked, revealing her perfect female body, with its 1.65 meter height, slim waist, full breasts and waist wider than her shoulders.
Theloria’s eyes were as white as clouds, her teeth shining even in a universe characterized by shadows. The dimples in her cheeks were captivating enough to stir the minds of men of different races, and it was no different for Kong and the demon there. Both lowered their heads in Theloria’s presence, while even Vicente felt the need to look away after observing her.
’This woman’s mental power is on another level. I feel like I’m going to lose myself at any moment.’ Vicente thought as he used his strength to stay in control, pinching one of his legs while using more than one of his skills simultaneously.
Theloria looked at Kong and said with a smile, “You’re stronger too, my friend.”
She suddenly appeared in front of the dragon, as scales in the shape of clothes formed on her body. The pressure on the minds of the three gradually eased as she became more serious, touching one of Kong’s shoulders and seeming to remember the past.
“I’ve become a 2-Star Transcendent, but even at my current level, I feel I’m a long way off. Defying the heavens is not for just any Transcendent.” She looked up at the sky from her illusion, seeing things that the others in her domain were unable to see.
But she didn’t remain melancholy and soon turned her attention to the one Kong had brought to her. “Old friend, who exactly is this human boy? Why did you bring him to me?”
Kong felt free of Theloria’s mental power and finally straightened up, looking at her and then pointing at Vicente. “Vicente Fuller, a native of Polaris Realm. Like me, he came to Anicane to carry out the Alliance’s mission.”
“Oh?” Theloria walked over to Vicente. Several memories of Polaris Realm flashed through her mind.
At the ’end’ of the Nine Paths, Theloria had been on a journey through the Polaris Realm. At the time she was ’only’ an Archmage, which forced her to remain on the plane for centuries, until her ascension to the level of a Magus.
During her time trapped in Polaris Realm, Theloria had met Kong and the Alliance, an unofficial organization created by the main bestial tribes of the northern region, led by the dragons and elves. When she progressed in cultivation and left the plane to return to Anicane, she joined the Alliance’s cause, joining the natives of Polaris Realm who were already in Anicane at the time and those who joined the group later.
As Vicente himself had already experienced, Anicane was not simple. It took a long time for Theloria to become strong and by the time she and her allies could do something, Kong and several other specialists previously trapped in Polaris Realm had arrived in the great world.
Several battles have followed since Theloria’s reunion with Kong, culminating in their last occasion together, shortly after they escaped death in the incident that Vicente had seen in the ice dragon’s memories.
These memories stirred up the succubus’ feelings, making her look at Vicente and consider Kong’s words that day.
“I thought I’d never see you again. You were finished that day, old friend.” She stopped in front of Vicente, hesitating for a moment to look at Kong again.
An expert’s memories were not all available all the time. Only by thinking more about it, about the people involved, could Theloria understand that this was no ordinary encounter, even though the man in front of her was only a mid-level Sorcerer.
Kong said seriously, “Vicente helped me. You could say he cured me.” He looked at Vice and paused, wondering once again how this human could be the Celestial King. But he wouldn’t say his theories out of the blue. “But that’s not what made me come to you today. Unlike me and our old allies, Vicente has qualities that can greatly improve our chances. Because of him, I’m willing to go back and fight to the death!”
Everyone aware enough of Theloria’s illusory world looked on, with even Vicente turning serious.
Kong finished his words, “Theloria, listen to Vicente and give us the help we need. This could finally be the moment to solve our old problems!”
Theloria looked back at Vicente, now a few degrees less open in her words, facing the man who perhaps had the potential to help her take revenge on those who made her lose everything.
When she had gone to the Polaris Realm, she had friends, family, a position in a clan and was a genius with a promising future. All that was lost. Everyone she knew died during her time away. Her family members died in a calamity centuries after the end of the Nine Paths. Her clan was almost completely destroyed as she returned to Red Enclave. In the end, she still saw the last ones who could pass on the last memories of her loved ones being destroyed by Entitled Deities.
For thousands of years, her losses made her inconsequential, pushing her to become stronger and seek ways to harm those responsible for the fall of the Nine Paths. Even today, much more mature, powerful and in control of herself, she still couldn’t help but feel her body burning with hatred at the thought of how much she wanted to fulfill her promises of revenge.
She advanced one of her hands to Vicente’s head, but before she could touch it to see what was so special about him, Vicente himself took a step back.
“There’s no need for you to do that, senior,” Vicente spoke for the first time, having already understood this woman’s position of power. “Since we’re in an illusion created by you, I can tell you what I know.”
Vicente looked at Kong and said, “I couldn’t tell you this directly before because of the risks, but the mental domain of a Transcendent should be safe enough. Anyway, maybe you think I’m the reincarnation of that Celestial King. I’m sorry, I’m not. But I know who is.”
Gulp!
Their guide swallowed his saliva as he looked at Vicente with wide eyes. Meanwhile, Kong and Theloria seemed to have stopped breathing for a moment, one wondering if he had been mistaken and the other incredulous, but not as hopeful as her friend.
Looking at Kong, Vicente said, “I know you’re worried about him not being strong enough to be useful to our cause. But I saw him right in front of me. And he had a much stronger aura than Senior Theloria!”
“Stronger than me?” Theloria grabbed one of Vicente’s shoulders, but without trying to probe his strength. “Brat, how can you be sure that this person is the Celestial King’s destined one?”
Kong remained silent, while the still conscious demon trembled at the thought of the weight of this conversation.
Vicente replied, “I saw Kong’s memories. I saw when the Great Sage sacrificed himself to leave the future image of the destined one.”
Theloria widened her eyes, remembering the rumors of how the Great Sage had died at the time. Unfortunately, Kong had been one of only four survivors among the eyewitnesses. Of the four, one had died of battle wounds before he could report the destined one’s appearance, another had gone mute, blind, and deaf and the last one beyond the dragon had disappeared while being taken to the survivors’ camp. In the end, Kong couldn’t help either, having gone mad and become unstable and unreliable.
In the end, Theloria could never verify the veracity of the rumors about the Great Sage’s death, not knowing to this day what the destined one really looked like.
“Is this serious? Then who is he? Where is he?” she asked in a hurry, feeling the years of waiting bursting through her being.
But even in an imaginary, probably safe place, Vicente wouldn’t risk this information.
He said vaguely, “He helped me in the past and promised me he’d find me again in the future. All I have to do is wait for him in Hell and I’ll be able to see him again. At that time, I’ll talk to him about our plans.”
On hearing Vicente’s reply, Theloria didn’t get angry straight away. A Transcendent as experienced as she was could even get emotional about matters so critical, but she cooled her thoughts and understood the human’s caution.
“I see,” she murmured as she let go of Vicente, thoughtful. “If what you say is true,” she continued, honestly believing him. As he was inside her illusion, it wasn’t that difficult for her to check something so simple as the truth of his words. Even more so considering the significant difference in cultivation between them and the fact that Vice wasn’t protecting himself from her while speaking. She then said, “If that’s so, I can do what Kong asked. But before that, what exactly do you want, Vicente Fuller?”
Vicente said firmly and sincerely, “I want to restore the Nine Paths. I will do everything in my power to do that, even if I have to fight the Deities of Argardus! Even if I have to kill them on my way!”
Theloria smiled and revealed what even Kong didn’t know. “In that case, return to Hell immediately. Only the heir of the Celestial King can give us back the Nine Paths and lead the extermination of the destroyers. Without him, everything else is nonsense. Even if you become strong enough to kill all the Deities, repairing the Nine Paths will never be possible without the reincarnation of the Celestial King! Only his origin power can reverse the damage done!”
