Chapter 83:You won this time
Chapter 83: 83:You won this time
Prince froze and stared at Cassian. Clenching his fists tightly together, he stared back at Nova. "I honestly mean no harm," he replied, not wanting to anger Nova.
Nova’s gaze turned colder. The tension in the hall immediately thickened, wrapping around their table like an invisible, suffocating wire.
Prince sighed. "I indeed asked him to bring Raymond to my underground bar, but I didn’t intend to hurt him. I... I just wanted to keep him away from you," he said.
Delilah wanted to speak but couldn’t find her voice. The atmosphere was so tense and cold that it stole the breath directly from her lungs, she couldn’t bring herself to say a single word. Nova looked truly dangerous, radiating a deadly anger even though she stayed perfectly calm.
Nova stood up and approached Prince. "It’s not my nature to give warnings. My husbands are my bottom line. If you dare to lay a hand on them, trust me, you won’t live to see the sun of the next day," she said, her voice completely lacking any trace of emotion. Her eyes looked like she wouldn’t hesitate to kill him right on the spot.
Prince could feel his heart racing faster, the crushing pressure in the air making it hard to breathe. He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. "I... heard you. I won’t make any move on them ever again," he swore.
"That will keep your head safe," Nova replied coldly, and turned to Delilah. "Can you take me to the guest room? I’m a bit tired," she said.
"Yes, sister-in-law," Delilah replied, instantly standing up and rushing to Nova’s side in excitement, relieved to escape the suffocating aura.
Nova stared at Cassian and was about to speak, but Cassian immediately cut in.
"I will stay longer here, get some rest," he said, smiling warmly.
A gentle smile appeared on Nova’s lips immediately. Her anger vanished into thin air. She nodded and allowed Delilah to lead her to the guest room.
Right after Nova left, Prince glared coldly at Cassian. "Do you think by doing this, I will let her go?" he questioned angrily.
Cassian chuckled and shook his head pitifully. "Are you pained? Cry and let out your pain. You won’t look too ugly, I can bet," he replied, completely brushing off his question.
Prince’s gaze turned darker. "You won this time," he said, and left angrily.
Cassian’s gaze turned cold as soon as Prince left. "Thinking of snatching my woman... maybe in your next imaginary life," he snorted coldly.
"Where’s Alan?" Raymond walked closer to Cassian as his gaze wandered around the crowd.
Cassian raised his head and stared at Raymond. "It’s not like he’s important to me. Why are you asking me?" he replied in an irritated tone.
Raymond stared longer at Cassian. "You have a point," he replied, and left.
In the guest room...
"Sister-in-law, you should rest here. I will go and get you some fruits," Delilah said.
Nova nodded and watched as Delilah left. She was just about to close the door when Alan immediately blocked it with his hand.
"Snow!" he called, throwing himself into her arms.
"Huh? What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be having fun at the hall?" Nova asked.
"I have missed you so much, Snow," Alan replied.
Nova chuckled and pulled him away gently. "We just got separated," she said.
Alan laughed and carried Nova in his arms, then closed the door using his leg. He walked up to the bed and laid Nova on it, hovering on top of her.
"We just got separated, but it’s like I’m separated from my world. My heart aches so bad," Alan replied, looking pitiful.
Nova gently pulled away his mask and caressed his face. "How about I kiss you to erase the ache?" she spoke softly, smiling charmingly.
Alan nodded immediately. Before Nova could make a move, he sealed her lips with his, deepening the kiss from light to a rough, deep kiss. His hot body pressed against hers as his hands started wandering around her body.
The atmosphere in the room instantly shifted from quiet to blazing hot. The air grew thick and heavy with rising desire, the romantic tension crackling fiercely between them.
"Snow, I... I couldn’t hold myself anymore," Alan murmured, kissing her neck as he stared down at Nova.
Nova smirked and placed a hand on the back of his head, pulling him closer. "Then... be less merciful," she whispered, taking the lead and going in for a deeper kiss.
Alan started undressing, feeling hot already. With a single move, he pulled Nova closer against his chest, making her lift off a little from the bed, and he zipped down her clothes without breaking the kiss.
Just as he was about to get down to the deed, Delilah’s voice echoed.
"Sister-in-law, I’m back," she said, and swiped the card, opening the door.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw Alan on top of Nova, both of them breathing heavily as they stared at her. The thick, steamy tension in the room instantly shattered, replaced by a freezing, shocking awkwardness that paralyzed all three of them.
The tray containing the fruits she was holding fell from her hands with a loud clatter, and she gasped in shock.
"What... what are you doing to my sister-in-law?!" Her eyes turned red immediately, and she rushed forward, pushing Alan aside with all her strength. She pulled Nova away from the bed to hide behind her.
"Sis... sister-in-law, are you okay?" she asked worriedly, her gaze fixed warily on Alan.
Nova, seeing Delilah protecting her, couldn’t help smiling. "I am fine. It isn’t what you think," she said.
"I know, you were forced by him, right? Don’t worry, sister-in-law, I will definitely get justice for you," Delilah replied, her eyes already filled with tears.
Nova was speechless.
Alan, who was already shirtless with only his pants on, stared at Delilah and gritted his teeth. "Get out of here," he said in irritation.
Delilah held Nova’s hand protectively. "Sister-in-law, you should go out and call my brother. I... I will try to hold him back," she said.
"It’s... it’s not what you think, alright? He and I are in a relationship," Nova said.
Delilah froze. The tears she had been holding back finally escaped her eyes as she turned around, staring at Nova. The chaotic tension in the room twisted into heavy, heartbreaking confusion for the young girl.
"Sis... sister-in-law, are you not satisfied with my brother? Is it because he is older? Why did you find another man?" she asked, her voice choked. Her eyes were already wet with tears as she felt a deep bitterness in her throat while staring at Nova.
Nova was completely tongue-tied. "What are you saying, dear sister in law?" she murmured, even she herself was now getting confused.
