Chapter 70: 70:I don’t care about him

Music Class Department

A long, black-haired lady walked inside the class, looking beautiful and happy. As soon as the people in the class saw her, they started praising her.

"Vivian! You look so beautiful today!"

The black-haired lady blushed. "Thank you... thank you all," she replied, heading to her seat and sitting down on her chair.

Beneath the cheerful chatter of the room, a different kind of energy simmered around her as she sat. It was the quiet, dangerous hum of hidden malice, masked perfectly by her sweet exterior. Just as she sat down, her phone vibrated twice. She brought it out, seeing it was a message from Rita. She opened the message and was stunned to see what had been sent to her.

She was supposed to get angry immediately, but seeing Nova in the picture, she zoomed in so she could see the picture properly, surprised.

"She kind of looks familiar," she thought, forwarding the picture to another contact with a text message.

"Isn’t this the lady that senior sister Dora asked us to keep an eye on? She’s schooling in our school now."

As soon as the message was delivered, Vivian smiled. "It seems like she offended senior sister Dora, and now she wants to snatch my man. What a joke," she thought, dialing someone’s number.

The phone rang for a few minutes before the call was connected.

"Yo! What makes you call today, our darling Miss? I thought you forgot us already," a rough male voice echoed over the phone.

Vivian sighed. "How can I forget you? Right, I want you to do something for me. There’s one random girl that offended me. I want you to deal with her. Give her a good beating, but don’t kill her, okay?" she instructed.

"Oh, is she from a rich family? Can we get some millions from her family?"

"I’m not sure, she’s a new student, I guess. But don’t worry whether you get money from her or not, I will surely pay you in full. Just beat her properly, and also mention that she should stay away from the school’s handsome boy. I will find her next location and forward it to you," Vivian said.

"No problem, leave it to us. I can ensure you will be very satisfied."

"Good," Vivian replied, and disconnected the call. A satisfied smile appeared on her lips. "Tsk, before senior sister teaches you a lesson, I will do that first," she thought.

.....

Australia, Sydney City

Inside a large living room, Dora clenched her phone tightly and angrily slammed it against the floor, breaking it to pieces. Not satisfied with just breaking her phone, she scattered everything on the table.

The room felt like the epicenter of a violent storm, the air thick and choking with unrestrained madness. Every shattered glass and broken object on the floor radiated a volatile, terrifying instability.

A young man rushed in from outside. Seeing the scattered table and Dora’s broken phone, he stared at her, his expression filled with worry.

"What’s the matter, Dora?" the man asked.

Dora stared at the man with teary eyes. "I am going back to China! Prepare the private plane for me!" she shouted.

The young man sighed. "Calm down, Dora. It’s not safe for you to go back to China. Your father did everything within his power to send you here. Though it’s not very safe here, at least she won’t come after you, and you won’t bump into each other coincidentally," the man reasoned.

Dora glared at the man with a murderous glare. "Prepare the flight! I will personally end Alan with my bare hands. I haven’t figured out how to deal with Cassian yet, but he dared to make a move on the woman I love!" she said, gritting her teeth together to control her fury.

A heavy, stunned silence dropped over the room like a lead weight. The gravity of her psychotic obsession completely suffocated the space, turning the atmosphere sickeningly cold.

The man clenched his fists tightly. "You don’t mean it, Dora. You are actually into women?" he asked. Even though he already knew the answer, his voice still sounded shocked.

"What? Other people are free to choose their love, but I don’t deserve it, huh! No one can have her if I don’t!" Dora shouted crazily.

The man took in a deep breath and moved closer to her. "Calm down first. You just want her, right? I will fetch her for you. Just don’t leave this house, okay?" he said.

Dora calmed down and immediately moved closer to the man, holding his hand, her eyes filled with hope. "You are not just trying to calm me down, right? Clark," she said.

Clark nodded, helping Dora sit back on the chair. "As for Alan, I know what to do, but Cassian..." He stared at her.

"I don’t care about him," Dora replied coldly.

"Good," Clark nodded. "Wait for my news, okay?" he said, and after earning a nod from Dora, he went outside, staring at the two men standing guard at the entrance. "Keep an eye on her. Don’t let her leave this mansion," he ordered.

"Noted, Boss," the two men bowed in unison.

Clark brought out his phone and dialed someone’s number. The phone rang a few times before it was connected.

"I have been expecting your call, Clark," a thick man voice echoed over the phone.

"I am coming to China," Clark commented. "Don’t touch that Cassian’s wife yet. Wait for me," he added.

"What? You don’t like that Halka daughter anymore? Interested in someone else’s wife now?" the voice replied.

"Mind your words, Trison!" Clark’s voice became louder, seemingly angry.

"Alright... alright... I was just kidding. Don’t be angry already. We will be waiting for you."

Clark didn’t reply and disconnected the call. "Dora," he murmured, looking back at the closed door, and left.

Inside the living room, a gentle, deranged smile spread on Dora’s lips. "We will soon be together, Nova. No one will ever separate us," she whispered, chuckling in the eerily quiet room.

...

The Academy

The academy bell rang, and the students started exiting the classes.

Nova packed her bag and exited her class, heading to Alan’s. Reaching his classroom, she found it empty except for Alan and Charles, who were focused entirely on their laptops with dead-serious expressions on their faces.

The classroom was drowning in a frantic, high-stakes panic. The rapid, desperate clacking of keyboards sounded like gunfire in the quite empty room. The air was incredibly dense, practically vibrating with the crushing weight of an impending collapse and the cold sweat of betrayal.

"Damn it, I can’t believe there’s actually a spy among us. My defense has been completely broken down. Boss, how’s your side?" Charles asked worriedly.

"Contact Silas immediately. Tell him to strengthen the defense on his side. I can’t hold on much longer here, half of our important secrets have been leaked already," he said, his hands moving faster on the laptop.

Charles nodded and immediately called Silas. The call was connected immediately, as if Silas had been expecting it.

"How’s your side?" Silas’s panicked voice echoed over the phone. No doubt he was having a hard time where he was.

"We are still in school, so we dare not move from here. The other party caught us unexpectedly," Charles replied.

"Holy fuck! Damn the traitor!" Silas cursed angrily.

"You know what, just focus on your side’s defense. Don’t worry about us, okay?"

"Noted."

Amidst the suffocating dread and chaotic desperation, Nova stepped further inside. Her presence was like a drop of freezing water in boiling oil—an absolute, chilling calm that sliced effortlessly right through their panic. Witnessing the whole scene, she smiled and walked up to them.

"Can I help?" she asked softly.
