Chapter 71: 71:Hero saving the beauty

Alan raised his head. His gaze fell on Nova, and seeing her moving closer to him, his mood brightened instantly. His hands subconsciously paused on the laptop keyboard.

The air in the classroom was practically humming with a desperate energy, but Nova’s presence cut through the panic like a blade of ice. She lightly shook her head and chuckled. Approaching him, she walked to his desk and sat smoothly on his lap, taking control of the laptop without any words.

"Future sister-in-law, what are you doing? This isn’t a game!" Charles commented in worry, his heart hammering against his ribs as the firewall warnings flashed a violent red.

Though Alan was a little worried as well, he didn’t doubt Nova. He simply wrapped his arms around her waist. "Snow..." he called softly.

"Shh," Nova hushed him. "Pay attention," she added.

The screen was a chaotic blur of failing security protocols, the digital walls of Alan’s network collapsing under a brutal, coordinated cyber-assault. But the moment Nova’s fingers hit the keys, the atmosphere shifted entirely. She didn’t just type, her hands flew across the keyboard like magic, unleashing a torrential downpour of complex code.

The tension in the room shifted into breathless awe. She wove a ruthless algorithm, instantly blocking the malware injections and erecting an impenetrable, multi-layered firewall that completely suffocated the enemy’s breach.

Alan’s eyes widened in excitement, watching Nova seize total control and corner the attacking party with terrifying precision.

Charles also stared at the screen without blinking, his eyes filled with absolute admiration. "How... how did she do that?" he thought, not tearing his gaze away from the screen.

Nova didn’t just stop at building a stronger defense, she violently turned the tables, launching a tracker virus straight back into the system of the person hacking them.

A chilling, devilish smile appeared on Nova’s lips. "Now let’s see the bastard that dared to attack my husband," she thought. With a few rapid keystrokes, she bypassed their security encryptions and forcefully turned on their webcam.

The face of the other person was displayed very big on the screen. It was a man with half of his face covered in a jagged scar, looking both terrifying and utterly terrified.

"What the fuck! We have been exposed!" the man screamed in alarm and immediately slammed his screen closed.

Nova smirked, now staring at the blank screen, her eyes hiding a terrifying, bottomless danger.

"Wow! Future sister-in-law! You are definitely amazing!" Charles shouted, clapping his hands and giving Nova a thumbs up.

A proud smile spread on Alan’s face. His arms around Nova tightened, revealing how excited he was. "Snow, you are so good," he murmured, his racing heart finally calming down into a warm, steady beat against her back. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Nova chuckled, her hands moving again on the keyboard, fast and unbeatable. Soon, she was done with what she was doing and turned slightly to Alan.

"Look, he sold you out," she said, pointing at the recovered messages on the screen.

"Logan!" Charles sounded shocked and stared at Alan, whose expression was filled with disbelief as well while reading the traitorous messages. The realization of betrayal hung heavily in the air—a toxic, suffocating weight that turned Alan’s warm aura into sharp ice.

"I can’t believe he did this," he murmured, his eyes turning deadly cold.

"What should we do now, Alan?" Charles asked, his voice filled with concern.

"Hmph, we will let him have a taste of his own medicine," Alan replied coldly. His gaze fell on Nova, who was staring at him with a gentle smile on her lips.

"You saved me, Snow," he said.

Nova’s smile widened. "How do you plan to repay me?" she asked softly.

Alan’s face flushed slightly. "What... what do you want?" he murmured.

Nova laughed beautifully, getting impressed with the way he blushed so easily. "Hm... when I think of what I want, I will let you know, alright?" she said.

"Deal," Alan replied immediately.

Charles chuckled and was about to speak when his phone started ringing out loud. He picked up the call and placed the phone to his ear.

"They didn’t succeed!" Silas’s excited shout echoed over the phone. "Is boss with you? He’s just too incredible! How did he do that!" he added, not lowering his voice.

"You are shouting!" Charles scolded and packed his laptop, exiting the class. "Boss is busy right now. Come over to my place, let’s celebrate with some drinks," he said.

"Sure! I’m coming!"

Nova helped Alan pack his laptop and put it in his bag. "Let’s go home," she said, standing up from his lap.

Alan nodded in excitement and immediately held Nova’s hand, exiting the class while giggling nonstop.

Outside the school.

Just as Nova and Alan stepped out of the school gates, the relaxed evening atmosphere shattered. They were suddenly surrounded by several menacing men with huge sticks in their hands. A suffocating, violent tension instantly gripped the street, the silent threat of bloodshed hanging thick in the air.

Seeing the men, Alan immediately pulled Nova behind him protectively. "Who are you people?" he asked. His voice turned cold immediately, his eyes fixed on them with a dark, murderous intent that mirrored Cassian’s ruthlessness.

The gang leader stepped forward, sneering. "Little boy, we have no business with you. Don’t play the role of the hero saving the beauty here, otherwise you will only have yourself to blame," he said coldly.

Alan’s gaze turned even colder as he casually folded his uniform sleeves up. "Wow, it just so happens that I want to play the role of the hero saving the beauty," he replied coldly.

"You don’t know what’s good for you! Men, beat him up!" the gang leader ordered, and immediately the men behind him rushed forward.

Alan didn’t hesitate and fought them all at once, moving with a brutal, fluid grace. He delivered devastating blows, giving them an extra beating until the majority of them couldn’t even be recognized, groaning on the pavement.

Nova was watching the scene with amazement. "Wow! My husband is so cool when he fights! So handsome!" she whispered, staring at Alan with lovestruck eyes.

Seeing his men defeated by Alan alone, the gang leader gritted his teeth together. "Useless," he spat, and rushed fiercely at Alan.

Just as he was about to reach Alan, Nova suddenly blocked his way. With a blindingly fast, ruthless kick, she sent him flying through the air, crashing heavily against someone else’s parked car. The metal crunched violently under the impact.

Nova’s eyes widened. "Oops, that wasn’t intentional, but it seems he will have to pay millions for the repair," she murmured, smiling. She turned around, only to find Alan staring at her with wide-open eyes.

It was his first time seeing Nova kick someone so ruthlessly. "Snow," he called in disbelief.

Nova raised both hands immediately. "Will you believe me if I say I really didn’t expect him to crash into someone else’s car? I was actually targeting the bin," she explained, looking completely innocent.

Alan nodded and raised a thumbs up for her. "I should never offend my wife, or else one kick will send me to the afterlife", he thought, taking in a deep breath.

Nova sighed, already guessing his thoughts. "Let’s go home," she said, holding his hand. Together, they headed to the waiting car, which drove them to the new mansion Cassian bought.
