“Okay, okay. I’ll wait until you move into your new house, and then you can come back and buy furniture from me.” Miss Green Bamboo’s smile did not waver.

Lin Yun blinked and stood to one side without a word. It seemed the two of them were quite familiar with each other.

Miss Rabbit pulled Lin Yun back to the counter. “This is my good friend, Miss Deer. She bought a new house. The house seed cost 15 gold coins, and she needs a lot of furniture. Please remember to give her a discount.”

Miss Green Bamboo shook her head helplessly. “I know, I know. Friends introduced by Little Rabbit are my friends too. Miss Lu, feel free to browse around the shop and see what you like. If you don’t find it, tell me what style you want, and I can try to make it.”

Lin Yun nodded. “Okay, thank you.”

She started looking around the shop. Miss Rabbit did not go with her. Instead, she chatted with Miss Green Bamboo at the counter.

“Sister Green Bamboo, what’s new in the city lately?”

“Something new? There really is.” Miss Green Bamboo thought for a moment and remembered something. “Something strange has been going on lately. It seems a lot of outsiders have appeared in the city, and several have already been imprisoned.”

“How come there are so many outsiders all of a sudden?” Miss Rabbit rested her chin on her hands, looking at Miss Green Bamboo curiously and waiting for her to continue.

“I’m not entirely sure either. It was the three races, the giant rats and their allies, who discovered the outsiders. Once they captured someone, they simply locked him up in their own dungeons. Even the authorities can’t ask about the situation.”

Lin Yun noticed their conversation, thought for a moment, and came closer. Miss Green Bamboo did not mind. There was plenty of time anyway, and they could gossip before doing business. Besides, Lin Yun had been brought by Miss Rabbit, so she did not mind at all.

“Logically speaking, if outsiders are discovered and captured in Monster City, it should be reported to the authorities. But as you know, the three races led by the giant rats and the elves have been at odds for years. They often clash, but fortunately the neutral races understand that those three are not good people, and most of them side with the elves. For some reason, the three races’ attitude was rather strange this time. After capturing the outsiders, they simply imprisoned them and refused to hand them over to the authorities no matter what the elves said.”

“I heard from others that some of those captured were not outsiders, but humans. Although the human race has rarely left the Eastern Continent in recent years, they have still maintained contact with the elves, who are the authorities. Knowing that there are humans among those captured, the elves have to get involved no matter what. But… the giant rat tribe was very hostile and refused to hand over the humans.”

At this point, Miss Green Bamboo sighed. “I’m really afraid that when the people of the Eastern Continent find out about this, they’ll come to the Western Continent demanding an explanation.”

Miss Rabbit blinked. “The giant rat tribe has gone too far! The elves are the authorities! How can they not let the authorities get involved in this? They really think they’re the new city lords.”

Lin Yun quickly patted Miss Rabbit. “We’re still in the city.”

Miss Rabbit stuck out her tongue. She had forgotten for a moment.

Miss Green Bamboo leaned closer to the two of them and whispered, “I’m going to tell you some inside information, but you absolutely must not tell anyone, or I’ll be finished.”

Lin Yun and Miss Rabbit nodded quickly and stared obediently at Miss Green Bamboo, waiting for her to speak. Miss Green Bamboo glanced back at the shop entrance to make sure no one would come in, then leaned close to their ears.

“According to reliable inside information, the authorities plan to rescue the humans from the giant rats’ prison tonight.”

Lin Yun and Miss Rabbit: “!!!”

“But… didn’t they say we can’t go out after 8 p.m.?”

Miss Green Bamboo sighed. “There’s nothing to be done. The giant rats won’t hand over the people, and the elves are the authorities. They can’t just watch the humans be tortured to death by those giant rats, can they? The giant rats are notorious for hating humans. If humans fall into their hands, they’ll definitely come to a bad end.”

After thinking about it, Lin Yun agreed that her words made sense. The elves were the official race and had no conflict with the humans. The humans were not outsiders, so the elves naturally could not stand by and watch them be imprisoned and tortured by the giant rats. Otherwise, they would have a hard time explaining themselves to the humans later. If something really went wrong, how could the other races trust the elves? Then the lord of Monster City would truly become a giant rat.

After chatting for a while, Miss Rabbit and Miss Green Bamboo changed the subject, and Lin Yun got up and casually picked out some furniture. There was not much, mainly because she had no points. 🙂

“All right, I’ll give you 8 gold coins for this! Do you need me to arrange for someone to deliver it to the Fairy Tale Forest? If so, it’s an extra 2 gold coins.”

Lin Yun sighed. On the surface, she knew she could not carry it back by herself. “Yes, please.”

She counted out ten gold coins and handed them to Miss Green Bamboo. Her gold coins had decreased by another 10.

Before leaving, Lin Yun stopped and asked, “Sister Green Bamboo, do you know what shops are available for rent in Monster City?”

Miss Green Bamboo looked over and immediately understood. “Do you want to open a shop?”

Lin Yun nodded. She had just thought of it. She had a lot of vegetables and fruits in her backpack that she had not had the system buy up since arriving in this world. She could use them to earn some gold coins, and also use the shop to enter and leave Monster City freely. There were many secrets in Monster City, and she would probably be coming here quite often. Of course, it would be best if she could enter without paying gold coins. Otherwise, with the amount of gold coins she had, they would be gone after just a few trips.

Miss Green Bamboo pondered for a moment. “Yes, there are, but the rent is very expensive.”

Miss Rabbit, knowing Lin Yun’s situation, quickly asked, “How much?”

“It costs 100 gold coins per month.”

Lin Yun fell silent. Highway robbery! She had been spending money for the past two days and had only 90 left. Not even 100. The sky was falling.

Miss Rabbit’s eyes widened. “So expensive!”

“Sister Green Bamboo, you’re amazing! Your shop must be worth a fortune if you rented it out!”

Miss Green Bamboo glanced at her irritably. “What are you talking about? Shop rent depends on the location. The rent for my shop in this location would be well over a hundred gold coins.”

To be honest, Miss Rabbit did not know much about these things. She did not live in Monster City and usually went home after buying what she needed.

“Wow, how much is that?”

“1000 gold coins. However, I’ve already bought this shop. It belongs to me.”

Miss Rabbit’s and Lin Yun’s eyes widened again. The rent for this shop was 1,000 gold coins. How many gold coins would it cost to buy it? The two exchanged a glance, and their appreciation of Miss Green Bamboo’s strength reached a new level.

“You’re amazing, Sister Green Bamboo!” (x2)

Miss Green Bamboo proudly raised her head. “No problem, no problem~”
