Chapter 470: Chapter 469: Do You Dare?

The Ashenbone Lord took a step back.

This was the first time it had retreated since its appearance.

’This effect...’

Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes lit up. She suddenly realized that even if she couldn’t attack the mass of black fog in the monster’s chest, severing its limbs and grinding it down bit by bit seemed like a good option too!

But the problem was, the Moon-Tracking Blade’s Broken Abyss could only be used three times.

Seraphina Sinclair had already used it twice, leaving only one use left.

She pondered for a moment, then put away the Moon-Tracking Blade and equipped the Water Dragon Roar.

Although the Skills in this world all had usage limits, the Skills of different weapons were clearly independent of each other.

Seraphina Sinclair gripped the Water Dragon Roar. Without a single wasted word, she unleashed a Dragon Breath Following Form the moment she faced it!

Three blades immediately formed a triangular pattern and shot toward The Ashenbone Lord!

At that moment, the monster’s massive body became its greatest disadvantage; it had nowhere to hide.

The Light Blades slammed viciously into its skeleton.

BOOM!!!

An ethereal blue light exploded, sending countless tiny specks of light scattering everywhere.

The Ashenbone Lord’s body trembled violently. The black fog on its skeleton surged madly, and countless distorted faces opened their mouths at once, letting out silent screams.

Seraphina Sinclair tightened her grip on her blade, staring intently at the figure in the dust and smoke.

’Did it work?’

The dust settled, and The Ashenbone Lord was still standing in the same spot.

But on its skeleton, three deep cracks had appeared where the Light Blades had struck. The cracks were as thick as an arm, stretching from its ribs all the way to its spine, with chaotic black fog constantly pouring out of them.

Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes lit up.

’It’s effective!’

Although it couldn’t sever the monster’s bones directly like Broken Abyss, Dragon Breath Following Form had a large area of effect!

And from the looks of it, as long as she attacked fast enough to prevent The Ashenbone Lord from repairing itself, she could grind it down bit by bit!

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t hesitate.

A second Dragon Breath Following Form, then a third...

Ethereal blue Light Blades bombarded The Ashenbone Lord’s chest, one after another. A large hole had already been blasted open in that spot, and the surrounding bones were covered in a dense web of cracks, with black fog surging wildly from the fissures.

After using up this weapon’s Skill charges, Seraphina Sinclair switched back to the Moon-Tracking Blade.

This time, she didn’t continue to use Skills from a distance. Instead, she targeted the mass of black fog in The Ashenbone Lord’s chest. After a few leaps, Seraphina Sinclair used Swift Step Technique in midair!

The creatures in the stands who hadn’t fled yet watched this scene, chattering amongst themselves:

"Humans... can fly?"

"I don’t know, but it’s so cool!"

"Sister Blacktiger is so strong! From now on, I’m her number one fan!"

"You’re late, friend. My heart was captured by Blacktiger the first time she fought in The Coliseum."

...

The clamor of her surroundings didn’t affect Seraphina Sinclair in the slightest. Her gaze was resolute. She gripped the Moon-Tracking Blade, and once she was sure her body was in the optimal position—

She smiled.

Seraphina Sinclair watched the mass of black fog in The Ashenbone Lord’s chest, watched it slowly coalesce into a human face, and watched that face slowly open its mouth...

Before it could do anything, a brilliant Light Blade struck it fiercely.

It was the final Broken Abyss for the day!

Seraphina Sinclair’s body began to fall. With the buff from her attribute points, she probably wouldn’t die from the impact, but pain was definitely unavoidable.

She put away the Moon-Tracking Blade and adjusted her posture.

Just as she was about to land, a small, soft figure cushioned her from below.

It was the Gloom Hatchling!

Upon landing, Seraphina Sinclair felt little pain. The Gloom Hatchling, however, let out a couple of pained yelps, seemingly crushed by the impact.

Seraphina Sinclair quickly got to her feet to check on it.

Hmm. Besides its face being a bit squashed, nothing else seemed to be wrong.

Seraphina Sinclair breathed a sigh of relief and turned to look at The Ashenbone Lord, which had been struck by Broken Abyss.

The giant skeleton, as if it had lost all support, began to disintegrate.

The surging black fog was like a punctured balloon, erupting frantically from every crack and dissipating into the air.

The human face on its chest vanished, as did the twisted faces on its head. Only the skeleton remained, standing like an empty, soulless shell.

Immediately after, the skeleton itself shattered.

Starting from the blasted-open cavity in its chest, cracks spread in all directions, covering the entire frame in the blink of an eye. Huge bones broke off piece by piece, crashing to the ground and turning to dust.

CRASH—

When the last vertebra fell, the entire Coliseum trembled.

The dust and smoke gradually dispersed.

The Coliseum fell deathly silent.

The spectators who hadn’t managed to escape were all slumped in their seats, eyes wide, staring at Seraphina Sinclair as if she were the monster.

A B-level human.

Killed a B+ Ashenbone Lord.

What did that even mean?

"Is... is she really human?"

"I don’t know... but I know one thing..."

"What?"

"My Black Fog Coins are gone."

"..."

"Me too."

"I bet my entire fortune on her losing..."

Wails of despair filled the stands, but this time, no one dared to gloat. As they looked at Seraphina Sinclair, their gazes held not only bitterness but, more importantly, fear and awe.

A powerful being—even if she was the last human to enter this world, nothing would dare to provoke her.

Seraphina Sinclair ignored their gazes and looked up at the high platform.

As expected, the Merchant Association President was still standing there. But its complexion could no longer be described as merely unpleasant; it was deathly pale, as white as a sheet of paper.

A creature like it wouldn’t leave willingly without seeing the final result of the disaster it had created.

Seraphina Sinclair looked at it and suddenly smiled. ’If you have the guts to create something like this, you should also have the guts to clean up your own mess.’

That smile sent a chill down the President’s spine.

It turned to run, but after just two steps, it stumbled. The high platform had been mostly destroyed by The Ashenbone Lord, and it was littered with shattered metal plates and exposed wiring.

Leaning against the wall, it frantically opened a panel. One by one, options popped up, and its finger trembled as it tapped them.

But the feedback was, without exception:

[INSUFFICIENT PERMISSION]

If the high-risk creature had succeeded in its assassination, if it had truly snuffed out this Life Star, then applause and rewards would be waiting for it now.

But as it happened, Seraphina Sinclair didn’t die. The Ashenbone Lord did.

The President’s hands trembled even more violently.

It looked at the glaring [INSUFFICIENT PERMISSION] on the panel, then at the human below who, despite being covered in blood, stood ramrod straight. Only one thought remained in its mind—

’It’s over.’

’It’s completely over.’

It desperately and frantically tapped the panel, but the moment it failed, all of its permissions were gone.

Now, it, the Merchant Association President, was no longer a high-and-mighty spectator.

If Seraphina Sinclair dared, she could kill it.

The only question was... would this unaware human dare?
