Supremely Talented Tyrant
Chapter 2240 - 2441: Enchanting Sounds
Although it seemed like an enjoyable thing, not only was Li Weiwei's beauty well known among teachers, but she also had a group of admirers among the students, many of whom dreamed of the chance to cover her with a quilt. But for Hao Jian, it was a torturous ordeal, because one wrong move could lead to disaster.
He carefully lifted the quilt, then stood up, seeing Li Weiwei sleeping soundly without it. Honestly, she's not tired during the day, following along with the fun and not having to arrange things herself, totally carefree. And now she's sleeping so deeply and beautifully, despite claiming to be a light sleeper. It's nonsense.
Luckily, there was a voice inside reminding him to stay rational and not make a big mistake, otherwise regrets would come too late.
A few seconds later, his rationality prevailed, and he withdrew his gaze. Then, he slowly lifted the quilt and walked forward a few steps, intending to cover Li Weiwei with it. His heart was constantly hoping she wouldn't turn over or move, otherwise...
However, just as he was thinking about this, before he could cover Li Weiwei with the quilt, she furrowed her brows, seemingly feeling cold or something, and actually turned over. The next second, Hao Jian was startled. He hastily lifted the quilt, because if it were on her at that moment, she'd notice and wake up, and the consequences would be unimaginable.
According to Li Weiwei's way of thinking, she'd instinctively feel he was taking advantage of her. Then jumping into the Yellow River wouldn't be enough to clear his name.
Finally, Li Weiwei only turned over and didn't wake up, causing Hao Jian to break out in a cold sweat. He breathed a sigh of relief, watching her settle down before finally placing the quilt on her and lying back down himself. After completing this series of actions, Hao Jian lay down on the floor quilt, heart racing. He hadn't felt this way in a long time; today, Li Weiwei truly had him flustered.
He took a deep breath to remain calm, then obediently closed his eyes to sleep. There was a busy day tomorrow, so it was better to rest early and regain his energy.
However, just as Hao Jian closed his eyes, Li Weiwei suddenly opened hers without warning. Then, realizing that Hao Jian had covered her with the quilt seconds ago, her face was surprised as she sat up abruptly and looked down at the reclining Hao Jian.
Suddenly, she grabbed Hao Jian's quilt and pulled him up. Hao Jian, who was already drifting off, was shocked and bewildered by being pulled up.
"What did you just do?" Li Weiwei turned on the bedside lamp, demanding of Hao Jian.
Hao Jian was startled awake instantly, not immediately understanding what had happened. When he finally reacted, he hurriedly shook his head, saying, "Nothing! I was just sleeping."
As he spoke, he pointed to his makeshift bed on the floor and the quilt that was lifted. He never expected that after lying down, Li Weiwei would suddenly wake up and question him like this. How was he supposed to explain? Even telling the truth wouldn't be clear—nobody would believe that her quilt fell to the ground, and he picked it up and covered her. Li Weiwei definitely wouldn't believe it.
Li Weiwei's brow furrowed as her expression suddenly became sharp: "Nothing? Then why did you cover me with the quilt? Did you lift my quilt or were you trying something? Spill..."
Li Weiwei interrogated Hao Jian relentlessly, and Hao Jian, seeing her gaze, suddenly felt frightened. So much for her being a light sleeper with a slow reaction time; he had already lain down before she realized.
However, unless he explained the situation clearly, Li Weiwei wouldn't let him off, and he'd be in trouble. There was no choice but for him to lay out the whole story for Li Weiwei to secure his survival. Of course, he automatically filtered out certain details, like accidentally seeing something, because revealing them might result in an immediate kick from Li Weiwei.
After hearing this, Li Weiwei frowned and suddenly said: "Just like that? I kicked the quilt off the bed and you covered me with it? Just like that?"
Hao Jian nodded sincerely and said, "Yes, that's exactly it."
"'Just like that', my foot!" Li Weiwei's voice suddenly went up several decibels, "Do you think you can fool me like that? You think I'm a three-year-old child? If I believed that, I'd truly be a fool."
Hao Jian directly decided to ignore her; he had explained hoping she wouldn't misunderstand. But after laying out the entire course of events, she still didn't believe him. Not believing? Then forget it; who asked for her belief anyway?
In his thoughts, Hao Jian rolled his eyes at her and then lay back down, wrapping himself tightly in the quilt and going back to sleep.
"Hey! You..." Li Weiwei made a move as if to flip Hao Jian's quilt, "How can you be like this? You won't admit to what you did and pretend to sleep, huh, men..."
Hao Jian just pretended not to hear, putting on a show of being deeply asleep, ignoring everything outside the window, focused only on his own sleep. If he didn't want to let Li Weiwei pull up the quilt, then she definitely couldn't manage it. Helplessly, Li Weiwei gave up her action and sat on the bed, dejected.
"Huh, men!" she muttered as she glanced at Hao Jian with disdain, then lay down and wrapped herself tightly in the quilt.
Talking to herself she said, "This time I'll wrap myself tightly in my quilt. If there's a next time, you can just get out and sleep elsewhere. I pulled you here thinking you had nowhere else to sleep, but didn't expect you to be such a person, a beast in human clothes. Scary, a little performance reveals your true self. I have to keep some distance from you to avoid being hurt by this beast."
Hao Jian, with his eyes closed, never imagined Li Weiwei could be so talkative. She managed to say so much alone, completely different from her image at school. Women really are fickle creatures.
Maybe Li Weiwei realized she couldn't outmaneuver Hao Jian, so after saying a few words, she settled down, although still muttering something under her breath, but not causing further disruptions.
Hao Jian hoped for this; finally he might get a good night's sleep. If he didn't sleep soon, he estimated he'd wake up tomorrow with panda-like dark circles under his eyes. And if it weren't already late and Fatty Hu Lai and the others were asleep, he'd pack up and go to their room.
He closed his eyes for a minute, about to fall asleep.
However, at this moment, the room next door suddenly got noisy.
Almost simultaneously, Hao Jian and Li Weiwei both opened their eyes. It wasn't clear if the people next door deliberately spoke loudly or if the room's sound insulation was too poor, but there hadn't been any sound a second ago, and suddenly these amorous sounds were transmitted.
How can anyone sleep like this?
The room next door was occupied by the couple seen earlier at noon, which had originally been Hao Jian's room. Unfortunately, they had taken over it. At noon, Hao Jian had watched them with extra caution, thinking they were unique, not expecting them to disrupt the night like this.
At noon, seeing the man with the briefcase and watch, and his habitual behavior, Hao Jian speculated he was likely a secretary or similar position, while the woman wore much more expensive items than the man—both her clothes and jewelry were high-end by several levels.
With such a disparity in status, these two people were likely not husband and wife or a couple, yet they walked arm in arm, looking rather close and ambiguous. Analyzing carefully, he guessed they were probably having an affair as lovers. Back then, Hao Jian had paid extra attention, not realizing that the Ancient Town was not only a place to relax but an ideal spot for romantic escapades.
But who would have thought that his daytime caution would turn into a nighttime disturbance for sleeping?
Annoyed by what he was hearing, Hao Jian's thoughts were completely disrupted, and he abruptly sat up.
At the same time, Li Weiwei also sat up along with him, turned to him, and said, "Pretend to sleep! Keep pretending to sleep!"
Apparently she had heard the noise as well, Hao Jian thought.
If she weren't around, it would have been easy to secretly dispel that wicked urge inside with a little manual help. But Li Weiwei was there sharing the room, making it impossible, especially thinking about it; his inner turmoil only grew hotter.
"What do we do? Keep sleeping?" Li Weiwei suddenly asked Hao Jian.
