Supremely Talented Tyrant
Chapter 2239 - 2440: The Mischievous Li Weiwei!!!
Although Liu Qiangdong said he'd go through hell and high water for him at the time, Hao Jian just casually listened. But since he was here to ask for help, it wasn't inappropriate to say thank you.
However, after hearing it, Liu Qiangdong looked like he didn't dare respond and said, "Brother Hao, what kind of thing are you saying? I just did something very simple. If you put it that way, I feel a bit undeserving."
Hao Jian laughed, not expecting someone like Liu Qiangdong, a streetwise guy, to use several idioms in a row—he seemed quite capable. He didn't look down on streetwise guys but thought this because most are school dropouts with generally low educational levels. But these thoughts passed quickly in his mind.
Soon after, Hao Jian didn't dwell on it. Liu Qiangdong saw a large group of people standing outside, scratched his head, and said, "Well... since Brother Hao still has things to do, I'll take my brothers and leave. If there's time, let's continue."
Hao Jian said, "Alright, thanks a lot."
Subsequently, Liu Qiangdong left Hao Jian his contact information, saying if he needed help again, just give him a call, and he'd come immediately, then left. Hao Jian casually saved the contact before turning his gaze to the Innkeeper and the innkeeper's wife, seeing their distressed expressions.
Liu Qiangdong's parting words were meant for them—it was a promise to show up whenever called. If they dared to go back on their word and pester Hao Jian after Liu left, a single call from Hao Jian and Liu would lead a troop over to smash their shop.
Liu Qiangdong spoke loudly on purpose for them to hear.
Their dumbfounded expressions showed they were likely too mentally exhausted to speak. Who would've expected that a chance to make money would end up as a failure, leaving them unable to complain. Their looks seemed ready to devour Hao Jian, so he quickly faced the crowd.
Now that the matter was resolved, the next step was to let everyone rest early, so they'd have the energy for tomorrow's fun.
At this moment, everyone's eyes were on Hao Jian. He clapped his hands to get attention and said, "Alright, everyone is tired after a whole day of play, and it's late now. Quickly go upstairs, wash up, and rest."
"Okay, Brother Hao!" the group responded swiftly.
Soon, the group walked into the inn, headed upstairs, entered their rooms, cleaned up, and prepared to sleep.
During this time, everyone kept talking about and praising Hao Jian. Originally, the situation seemed solvable only by paying, but because Hao Jian stepped in, the trajectory changed—not only did they avoid paying to sleep but also reclaimed the previously paid room fee.
Hao Jian kept changing their perception and view of him repeatedly; now, in their eyes, Hao Jian was like a miraculous presence, capable of anything.
Liang Xiaohan didn't say much. It seemed Hao Jian's punishment of the Innkeeper made her happier than if she'd taught him a lesson herself. With a face of joy, she went upstairs with the group to wash up and sleep.
At that moment, Zhang Danlin was still standing there arranging tasks and tomorrow's itinerary. Hao Jian walked over, patted his back, and said, "You've had a long day, get some rest early—deal with tomorrow's tasks tomorrow. I'll take care of the rest."
"Let me do it," Zhang Danlin replied.
Hao Jian gave her a look. She initially wanted to persist, but after seeing Hao Jian's look, she compromised and said, "Alright then, I'll go wash up and rest. You also rest early. See you tomorrow morning."
Saying this, Zhang Danlin bid Hao Jian goodnight and went upstairs. Watching her retreating figure, she seemed tired but was still trying to persist. Without Hao Jian's persuasion, who knows how long she'd work without resting—such a hardworking girl.
Now, only a few classmates, Hao Jian, and Li Weiwei remained outside, not yet going upstairs to rest. Li Weiwei walked over, patted Hao Jian's shoulder, and said, "Young man, not bad, well done with handling the situation!"
Hao Jian rolled his eyes at her, thinking to himself, "You're really good at being a hands-off manager. When something happens in your class, you just watch with indifference. Your attitude is quite something." But on second thought, he decided not to voice it.
"I'm going upstairs to sleep. You should rest early too; don't stay up too late," said Weiwei as she headed upstairs.
After taking a few steps up, she turned back to look at Hao Jian and reminded him, "Oh, by the way, when you come into the room later, keep it down. I'm a light sleeper. If you wake me up, you're dead meat. Also, you can only sleep on the floor or the sofa. If you so much as touch the bed, just you wait and see."
After throwing out these warnings, Weiwei headed upstairs to her room, leaving Hao Jian dumbfounded downstairs. However, Hao Jian didn't pay much mind to it. Only after everyone had gone to their rooms to wash up and sleep did he go door to door, checking that everyone was present before he finished everything, took the room keycard, and cautiously entered the room.
The Innkeeper and his wife watched Hao Jian the whole time as if they wanted to eat him alive. This young man had caused them significant losses tonight, likely needing three to four months to recover from the hit. How could they not resent Hao Jian? But what could they do about it, really?
"Ding!" the door opened. Hao Jian tiptoed inside, afraid of waking Weiwei. It wasn't that he feared her, but he knew that if he woke her, he'd probably have a sleepless night given her vengeful nature. He didn't dare to turn on the light, worried it would wake her.
Once inside, he quietly changed his shoes, turned on a small lamp, grabbed a blanket, and set up a floor bed. The sofa might be softer, but it wasn't as spacious as the floor bed, and it wasn't comfortable to wake up from either, so he decided to sleep on the floor.
With the bed set up, he avoided washing up to not wake Weiwei, as he had already done so in Hu Lai's room, ready to sleep directly.
However, just as Hao Jian was about to lie down, Weiwei, who had been sleeping soundly under the covers, suddenly turned over like a "carp leaping out of the water," revealing her long, white legs that he couldn't help but notice.
His heart skipped a beat, and he instinctively swallowed. In all honesty, it wasn't that he was lecherous or beastly; it just happened that he saw it. And Weiwei, come on, she should've known better than to wear a nightgown, showing off her legs, when sharing a room with a guy.
Hao Jian wasn't a toddler; he was at an age where such sights were tempting. Of course, he swallowed instinctively.
It seemed Weiwei was just turning over in her sleep and wasn't awake. "Don't look at what you're not supposed to," Hao Jian's mind told him as he quickly averted his gaze and lay down, wrapping himself tightly with the blanket as the air conditioning was on.
"Stay calm!" Hao Jian reminded himself, terrified of doing anything impulsive and regrettable.
He forced his eyes shut, willing himself to stay alert and then fall asleep.
Unexpectedly, the restless Weiwei began to move again. She flipped over and over, left and right, until somehow her leg kicked the blanket off, landing it squarely on Hao Jian.
Hao Jian was dumbfounded. How restless exactly was Weiwei in her sleep? The blanket wasn't heavy, but it wasn't exactly light to have ended up on him with one kick. He felt utterly exasperated.
What if, tomorrow morning, Weiwei wakes up to find her blanket gone and ends up on him, exposing areas that should stay covered thanks to her nightgown? She might kill him to silence him!
That's what puzzled Hao Jian. If he didn't cover Weiwei with the blanket, he'd be doomed come morning. But if he did, what if she woke up while he was doing it? Seeing the blanket on him might make her think he tried something, given her earlier threat. He'd be a goner either way.
It was a dilemma of damned if you do, damned if you don't that troubled Hao Jian.
But after some calm reflection, he reached a conclusion.
If he didn't cover Weiwei with the blanket, he'd face certain death come morning, with her merciless wrath. But if he did, there was a chance she might wake up, but also a chance she wouldn't, leaving everyone happy.
So, after wrestling with himself a bit longer, Hao Jian decided to cover her back up, as it gave him a chance of survival.
