Chapter 1918: Temporary Rebirth

Nathan actually teleported a bit further away from the city. He wanted to have a small discussion with Luna and Iris, along with his familiars.

"All right. I haven’t received the full technique yet, but please take a look at this, Luna." Nathan handed over the paper of introduction to the permanent transmutation.

"Hmm?" Luna narrowed her eyes, carefully reading it.

Iris was also curious, so she checked the content.

"I don’t understand. What are you trying to say?" Luna asked.

With a smile on his face, he said, "I’m thinking about using it to actually proceed with the rebirth. I’m talking about the familiars."

"!!!" Tiamat was the first one to react. "Is it possible now?"

"I’m not sure yet." Nathan raised three fingers. "There are three processes that I can think of.

"First, we will have to prepare a new body for you. And that body should be the same as yours. However, this body might not be a divine body yet.

"The body itself will be made by Luna and Iris. By using the combination of transmutation and forging, we will create a replica of you. Iris will create the material for the transmutation.

"Then, my Soul Contract will move your data to the new body.

"The second step is to cut off the connection between me and the familiar. As long as you’re attached to me through the summoning link, you won’t be able to regain your freedom. I’m not exactly sure how it will affect me or you, but if your data has a new container, I don’t think we need to worry about you disappearing.

"Last but not least, the energy itself. Starting from energy to your true vessel needs to be recreated. Maybe there’s a way to let you assimilate your true vessel into the new body, but I haven’t seen the method yet."

Tiamat was quite satisfied. Nathan’s methods and steps had become more detailed. This meant Nathan was getting closer to the solution.

Still, she couldn’t help but ask, "I’m slightly worried that it might harm you, but we might be able to find a solution for that. What I’m confused about is how we’re not going to disappear.

"Please remember the chant for the summoning. We’re using your body as a beacon to stay in this world. Once that connection disappears, we will also disappear."

Nathan raised one finger. "You don’t have to worry about that. I’m thinking about using my Soul Contract as the new beacon. After all, even before meeting you, I managed to transfer my identity to the contract.

"Well, the bad part would probably be the fact that I could sense your location. I don’t think I can take a peek at what you’re doing though," explained Nathan.

"I don’t think that’s a problem." Tiamat shook her head. "This just means that if we encounter a danger or there is something else that needs your attention, you will know where we are. Besides, you will be able to monitor us so that we don’t smear your reputation. I’m perfectly fine with that."

"Thanks for your trust, but I will still see if there are other possibilities. For now, I think that method will work."

"If the Soul Contract can replicate your identity, then yes. It might work. We seal the Soul Contract in the new body. We will just have to supply the energy from time to time so that it continues to exist." Tiamat agreed.

Luna raised her hand. "I don’t know if this is good news or bad news. However, after learning about the introduction, I think I can figure out the type of body I will make."

"What do you mean?"

Luna raised three fingers. "It’ll be something similar to a golem, but it will match your appearance. While there are still other steps for the true rebirth, I think we will be able to create a temporary rebirth."

"Temporary rebirth?" Nathan crossed his arms, contemplating.

"Yes. First of all, I will create the body, but this body is just a dummy. Its sole purpose is to attach the Soul Contract to the familiar. Normally, the distance between us is determined by our Summoning Link. With them carrying the source of the summoning link, they can move freely for some time."

"Yeah, which is why I want to create something that will help them to travel permanently." Nathan nodded.

Luna pointed to her middle finger. "That’s the second matter. Why don’t you assume a new identity for a certain duration? For example, if you are Party A and the contract is Party A as well, there will be two summoning sources, right? If you suddenly change to Party B, it will temporarily remove your Summoning Link.

"However, if you completely change your identity, I can’t predict what will happen. On the other hand, if it’s just temporary, you will become Party A again and your familiars will disappear immediately after the time limit is up."

Nathan thought for a moment. "I don’t know what I can do after becoming a true god. My Soul Contract might evolve one more time, so that might be the solution.

"However, for a temporary rebirth..." Nathan looked around.

"It’s quite good, but please refrain yourself." Xolotl looked at Tiamat. "If he’s using the Soul Contract, it means he will use his karma and energy. If you abuse that chance, he will have a harder time getting stronger."

"I know that." Tiamat nodded in agreement. "Maybe it can be used as a reward or something. At least, that’s a reward for me. But for now, we can think of a few ways to apply this new power.

"By using the temporary rebirth, the familiars can actually go to other planets on their own to handle their respective tasks. In other words, this group can operate in a much more flexible way."

"I agree with that."

Luna raised her hand. "Excuse me, there is actually one more thing. It’s not actually related to rebirth. By using this transmutation ability and the Soul Contract, can’t we create a shared storage?"

"!!!" Nathan gasped. "Ender Ches—I mean, Group Storage!"
