Chapter 1917: At a Loss

Xolotl paused in shock. He didn’t consider this possibility. Depending on how it was formed, they might regain their freedom. At that time, they wouldn’t have to remain on Nathan’s side.

Of course, their goals might be the same. Even if Nathan wanted them to sign a contract stating that they would never betray him and that they would help him in defeating the black cell, they would be willing.

Tesfelone and the other two panicked when Mae warned Nathan. It was a technique for horizontal growth, so it wasn’t exactly similar to a technique for vertical growth. After all, it would be better to become a god first than to strengthen one’s power before it.

"Well, they’ve given us some information, especially a way to meet the elf goddess. I guess it’s fine to accept." Nathan looked at Mae as if he was trying to convince her.

That was why it wasn’t wise for them to pick a fight against him. And since they had confirmed Nathan’s personality, they knew Nathan at least wouldn’t fight for no apparent reason.

Nathan took out a contract. "In that case, let’s establish the contract. I will give you the full version of the Spirit Circle and the Divine Seal. In exchange, you will give me the full version of the Transmutation and the Permanent Transmutation. This way, none of us will feel cheated since everything has gone according to the contract."

With this contract, they would feel assured that Nathan handed over the real one. Nathan would feel the same.

Without hesitation, Tesfelone nodded with a serious expression. "I understand. Thank you very much."

After both of them had signed, Tesfelone immediately stood up. "I will bring the book with me."

"Very well."

Tesfelone immediately flew away, leaving behind Meia and Gerateon.

Gerateon smiled and turned to Lord Golzok, who was waiting far away. He gestured for Lord Golzok to come.

"Yes?" Lord Golzok didn’t understand what was going on, but it looked like their conversation had ended peacefully.

Gerateon nodded to him. "Mr. Nathan is our guest. Please welcome him well. If he wants to buy anything in town, you can put it on my tab."

"I-I understand." Lord Golzok nodded furiously.

"In that case, I’ll take my leave for a bit. Let us meet again tomorrow to finalize the exchange."

Nathan nodded with a smile.

Before Gerateon left, Meia looked away while saying, "I’m sorry."

"..." Nathan and Gerateon looked surprised. Nathan didn’t expect her to apologize, so he didn’t care much about it. On the other hand, Gerateon looked surprised because she wasn’t the type of person to apologize.

"As an apology, you can call me Meia, not Ultima." After saying those words, she simply flew away.

"Ohh!" Gerateon gasped. "That’s impressive."

"Is it? I don’t particularly care, though." Nathan shook his head helplessly.

"No, no. There are only a few people in this world who have the privilege to call her Meia. Meia is a nickname her late teacher gave her, meaning Four Transcendent Boundaries. Other people who dare to call her that are already dead.

"But you’re right. You might not care much about it because there’s nothing you can do about it. Still, I’d like to apologize for her rude behavior. I welcome you to this world. I hope you have a pleasant stay and fulfill your own objectives. I hope the next time we meet, it won’t be as enemies."

"Hopefully." Nathan nodded.

Gerateon smiled and flew away.

"..." Lord Golzok was speechless. He realized that Nathan had become a much more important person. Nathan was an equal to the saint, but with so much respect given to him, it was clear that Nathan had a rather special status outside their world.

Lord Golzok kneeled in front of him. "I... I apologize. I repaid you by reporting you."

"It doesn’t matter anymore." Nathan sighed.

"Allow me to prepare your dinner."

Nathan waved his hand. "I’m planning to stroll around with my wives. You can do whatever you want."

"Yes, sir." Lord Golzok walked away. He thought he would lose his life, but it looked like Nathan spared him.

Machina asked, "Master, there is one thing that I don’t understand. Why don’t you ask for more information about this world from them as a bonus? They should be willing to provide that information."

"It’s something I will get from the elf goddess anyway. I might as well get everything from her. The elf goddess likes to research, right? I have other things I can trade as well, including the solution that can separate black cell and aliens." Nathan smiled. "So, we are taking a small loss to ensure that they won’t backstab us."
