Chapter 146: Issue With The Cooter Clan

4-Life Stage!

5-Life Stage!

Virala watched Yoribu’s cultivation steadily increase, his eyes appearing mildly tense in response. However, even though it was subtle, relief flashed through them the moment he noticed Yoribu’s cultivation level stop at the 8-Life Stage.

8-Life Stage!

That was her limit, for she already had two more bodies, situated in another location.

Typically, cultivators in the Life Stage avoid splitting their bodies from the stack for extended durations. It was due to influence issues. All the bodies of the stack are mentally connected.

This connection is maintained as long as they remain within the Spirit Weapon range of each other. However, once a body moves past this range, based on its experiences and interaction with the environment, influence accumulates on its being.

Every body is constantly accumulating influence. However, due to the differing terrain, interactions with the natives, and unique life experiences, the influence accumulated on the bodies varies.

Over time, this accumulated influence reaches a certain point, past which the separated body can no longer be part of the Life Stage stack. The influence had changed this body to the extent it could no longer be considered part of the stack.

It was still the respective individual’s body, since the soul was the same. However, since they cannot be recalled into the stack, an issue comes into effect. Depending on the circumstances, the split body could veer off into becoming its own individual.

And worst of all, when the body comes within the Spirit Weapon range, it will implode the Life Stage stack. This was why cultivators typically refrained from splitting their bodies across a region.

In case they do it, they would be prepared to discard the split body and prepare the means to kill the split body in situations it gains individuality.

Mystic Humans were an exception to this rule, thanks to their resistance to external influence. This means, even if a Mystic Human were to split their bodies, irrespective of how long they remain separated, they could always be reclaimed into the Life Stage stack.

That wasn’t all. Their innate resistance to external influence is to the extent their memories and the likes couldn’t be hidden or erased. This pretty much meant a Mystic Human could send out a body, and whatever the split body experienced would become known to the rest of the bodies over time.

All memories of their being wouldn’t be hidden from the respective, split bodies. Hence, a Mystic Human could chill at a location while dispersing their bodies across the region for information collection.

The speed at which they will gain their split bodies’ information wasn’t instant, like when the bodies are in Spirit Weapon range of each other. It can range anywhere from months or even years.

However, they will eventually know everything that is experienced by their bodies. A duration of years didn’t matter on Sumatra, for it was still extremely fast. Every region was so vast that covering it took significant time.

As the Varahan Empress, Yoribu had two bodies at the Varahan Empire and had sent her third body to the Dralh Sea, to be a part of the Mystic Human Council.

Hence, even when the six Quills took effect, her cultivation stopped at the 8-Life Stage, for the other two bodies already existed and remained in the Varahan Empire.

Only if those bodies get killed could her stack here increase its cultivation to the peak. And at present, the Varahan Empire was significantly concentrated in terms of its power, unlike the Mystic Humans who numbered few and were scattered across the large Dralh Sea region.

It wasn’t possible to kill Yoribu’s bodies at the Varahan Empire, unless Nusantara’s Celestial were to personally intervene.

’This is good.’ Virala revealed a trace smile, ’She will experience this growth and obtain her Empyrean Boar King body at the Varahan Empire soon. And as long as she’s alive there, her stack here would resist harder.’

’She will make a recovery sooner than originally possible.’ Slowly, he raised his arms to assume a battle stance, “Killing me isn’t easy.”

“Many tried but none succeeded.” He uttered as gradually, his body began to balloon in size, “An Empyrean Boar King doesn’t terrify me.”

Tertiary Body–Empyrean Boar King!

“For I am one myself!” A violent stream of voracious Prana erupted out of his being, seemingly about to swallow the entirety of the Dralh Sea.

Torq’s submarine moved at its maximum speed in the direction of the Brimgan Empire, from time to time detecting Parute Trees appearing and wilting in his vicinity.

They were the survivors among the Mystic Humans, unanimously fleeing towards the Brimgan Empire. After all, the Brimgan Empire was the biggest backer to the Mystic Humans, for the Mystic Human Council Chief, Virala’s only daughter, was also the Brimgan Empire’s Guardian.

If they could seek refuge anywhere, it was under her.

“Man, we are slow!” Torq couldn’t help but complain upon seeing the Parute Trees flash away, “Even the slowest Mystic Human is still leagues faster than us.”

“The Cooter Clan’s speciality lies in our ability to handle significant strain in terms of weight and volume using our Spirit Weapons.” Eureur Pet couldn’t help but defend her Clan, “You can’t expect us to perform in places we aren’t specialised to operate at.”

“I’m not complaining,” Torq grumbled, “Our speed is just shit in the grand scale.”

“We’re sacrificing a bit of speed for greater endurance.” Eureur Pet argued, “Our every Raid ship is pretty self sufficient and could operate by itself forever, if necessary.”

“I’m not talking about that,” Torq wanted to argue, but decided against wasting his breath, ’The Cooter Clan’s problem isn’t about our strengths and weaknesses. Every force has that. Our issue stems from the fact that we don’t always play to our strengths.’

Just take the current Raid, for example. The Cooter Clan focused on scouting for the enemy. They were good at scouting around a place. However, their information relaying means across long distances was extremely lacking.

In close proximity, they were exceptionally great. Just the mist they gathered as a combination Information Slip that every Cooter Clansman could access and give inputs to in real-time presented them with an insane advantage.

It was enough for them to face enemies significantly stronger than them. But instead of focusing on that, they instead focused on scouting around the Dralh Sea, ’The Cooter Clan always uses their weakness to face the strengths of their opponents.’
