Chapter 107: Losing Gentle Coral

Chapter 107: Losing Gentle Coral

“Where the fuck is Boiboi?” Fanfan shouted in anger upon seeing the rest of his team members arrive after their diarrhoea session. Even as he waited for a while, Boiboi hadn’t shown up. He turned to glare at his team and barked an order, “Bring him here, NOW!”

The team quickly rushed into the Trailing Waves Battleship and eventually managed to reach Boiboi’s quarters. The cabin was empty. Frowning, the members searched around and soon heard grunting sounds coming from the bathroom.

“Boiboi! Are you there?” One of them banged on the door, “Answer me if it’s you behind the door.”

“It…it’s me.” Came a feeble response. And a few minutes of annoying wait later, the door opened as a sunken-eyed Torq walked out, shedding tears, “I’m…sorry.”

“What?” A glance at him and they felt the change in his being. The team member standing closest to Torq gasped in shock, “You…what happened to you?”

At present, Torq no longer emitted the presence of someone at the Body Stage. Instead, he seemed to have regressed to the Spirit Stage. “How did this happen?”

“I’m not sure,” Torq shook his head with a crying expression, “I had diarrhoea just like the rest of you, but only more violent. And then…and then…”

He collapsed on the floor and bawled his eyes out, “My Spirit Container shattered!”

Torq hoisted up some sludge and uttered, “The body I built using Gentle Coral leaked out.”

“I…what should I do?” He asked, grabbing the closest team member’s leg and pleaded, “Please help me! I’ll promise to repay this favour once I regain my strength…”

Thud!

The team member pushed Torq away, with force, shouting as the latter slammed into the door to make a dull thud, “Don’t cling to me, dammit!”

“I don’t want you to steal my accomplishments too!” He cursed in anger. Since Boiboi was known as someone who even stole the talents of Runthral, their Deity, the Cooter Clansman felt Boiboi could do the same to him too.

They all never liked him in the first place anyway. And even when Boiboi tried to interact with them, they only responded curtly, making the minimal-most conversation possible, only related to the task at hand.

“We’ll find another Clansman to maintain our boat.” Snorting in disdain, the team members rushed out.

“Please!” Torq shouted, crying aloud in grief, “Don’t abandon me! I need this accomplishment to better my life…!”

“Don’t leave me behind!”

“It’s…it’s not my fault this happened!”

“I promise to do better…do…” He kept crying until he couldn’t hear the sounds of their footsteps anymore. And then, he stopped, “…better…”

“That’s better.” He promptly got up and walked to the Maintenance Crew cabin and locked the door. He took out his storage, set it on the floor before him and took a seat. ’Now, I’ve managed to buy some time.’

“There are a few ways I can go about increasing my strength.” His Prana capacity was currently at 90 units. He had purposefully harmed himself and forced stress to accumulate on his Spirit Container, ending up cracking it.

That caused the portion of his body–built using Gentle Coral–worth 10 units to leak out through the pores on his skin. He accumulated it as the sludge, which he showed to the other members.

He was still at the Body Stage, having only lost 10 units of his Praa capacity. As for his presence showing his status at the Spirit Stage? The Narlakk Pet had unleashed it, after a bit of effort from his side.

He had cried mournfully enough to seem as if the entirety of his Gentle Coral Spirit Pool had leaked out. And the messy way in which he showed a scoop of it on his palms only served to reinforce that notion.

However, it was all a trick done to paint such a hopeless picture. And once they concluded Boiboi was useless, they simply decided to find someone else to assist them.

They could use an Elixir to elevate Boiboi to the peak of the Spirit Stage immediately. As long as he could endure the pressure from 100 units of Prana on his Spirit Container and ensure it doesn’t end up cracking, they could build a new Spirit Pool for his consumption.

Once Boiboi builds a new Spirit Pool, he will regain his strength. But the question was, why the heck should they do it? Not only were they unsure if Boiboi could prevent his Spirit Container from shattering once again, they also didn’t have the time to wait until he built his body.

It would take days for him to finish building his body. The first time, Torq took 5 days.

Had he been extremely close to the team members, they would have still prepared some means to regain his strength while they focused on the mission at hand. But since they didn’t have such a relationship, they simply abandoned him.

Staring at the storage lantern before him, Torq thought of his options, ’I can increase my Prana capacity by 40 units once I consume all the Parute Fruits. That’s like adding a bit more moisture to a droplet of power, completely useless.’

“Gentle Coral is too weak.” He frowned, “I would have continued using it for the moment if I at least had a larger reserve of Prana.”

“And unlike the furball’s plan, getting a Lightning Plasma Spirit Pool is a fool’s dream at the moment.” He muttered, ’Runthral Pet will still need to grow more before I can begin my plans in that regard.’

“Trying to obtain a new Spirit Pool is…possible.” He had the Eureur Pet, so once the new day begins, he could obtain the Rippling Tsloch Spirit Pool through her, ’That is a decent option.’

“But it’s a heavily skill-heavy Spirit Pool. Even Clansmen who had been using it for more than a century still have shit skills.” He then recalled from memory, ’It would take me decades to reach Captain Trotro’s level of skill, where having that Spirit Pool would truly make it a worthwhile investment.’

“I need something that can satisfy my needs for the moment.” Thinking as such, his eyes fell upon the storage lantern, “It would be a waste of resources if this doesn’t work as I expect.”

“But I think there’s a chance of success here.” With a mild grin, he patted the storage lantern, “I’ll use this to upgrade my existing Spirit Pool.”
