Wilderness (City A)

Leonora watched the six-winged butterfly. She recognized that the beast was the lifeline beast of Jeremy Night.

She had heard about it from other Beast Taming Teams, but she hadn’t expected it to be this beautiful. She also felt an unknown power radiating from the beast.

It made her heart palpitate.

Swoosh!

The next second, the beast vanished from the spot. A streak of white light shot forward to meet the Tier-7 beast head-on.

In the night sky, its movement resembled a shooting star. Leonora was no fool; she immediately realized what was happening.

"Call back your lifeline beast! The enemy is a Tier-7 Centipede-it’s not a Tier-5 or Tier-6 beast!" Leonora shouted at him.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night smiled and said, "Just watch."

Leonora then turned toward the Tier-7 Centipede Beast.

Meanwhile,

The five friends who were walking ahead froze in their tracks. Everyone had heard the deafening sound.

Their lifeline beasts communicated with them.

It confirmed the fact that a Tier-7 beast had appeared. When they turned around, they saw the massive frame of the beast appearing in the distance.

They trembled to their core. Their lifeline beasts were already injured and were in no state to fight.

They couldn’t believe that the Tier-7 Centipede had traced their scents all the way here.

"Leonora is in trouble," a female Beast Tamer said.

Hearing that, everyone recalled leaving Leonora behind. They exchanged looks with one another.

Swoosh!

The next second, they turned around and started rushing toward Leonora. The male Beast Tamer had thought Leonora would follow them out of fear.

Instead, she had stayed behind. As a team, they had to stick together.

Especially in a time of crisis. If they remained divided right now, the Tier-7 beast would easily wipe them out.

Swoosh!

They rushed back toward the mound, using their flight abilities to cover the distance faster.

The high mound came into view. Just then, a white streak of light appeared above the mound and darted toward the Tier-7 Centipede.

Though they didn’t know what it was, they pushed forward, wanting to reach the mound as soon as possible.

Meanwhile,

The six-winged butterfly appeared above the five-meter-tall Tier-7 Centipede. Stella saw that the beast’s flank was already injured.

She didn’t have to do much. She coated her wings in starlight power, and the next second, she activated her natural speed ability.

Swoosh!

She appeared right beside its flank and made her move. Her wings sliced through its side, carving a massive horizontal wound across its flank.

Pfff!

Blood had already been flowing from its previous injuries, and now the strike widened them further.

Pfff!

A large quantity of blood spurted from the fresh gash.

The Tier-7 Centipede, which had been charging forward, came to a sudden halt. It felt a sharp surge of pain and sensed something moving dangerously close to its body.

Boom!

The massive frame of the beast tried to shift its weight. As it adjusted its posture, a shockwave rippled outward.

The impact tore through the surroundings, uprooting everything on the ground and tearing away the patches of green.

The beast was trying to overturn the very earth.

Slash!

Stella did not halt her assault. She appeared on the opposite flank, using her wings to slice through the creature’s hardened skin.

The Tier-7 body defense posed no challenge. The starlight wings once again left behind a long horizontal gash.

Pfff!

A torrent of blood gushed forth from the wound, splattering across the ground.

This side of the flank had sustained the fewest injuries, yet her wings had left behind a terrifying tear.

Boom!

The Tier-7 Centipede collapsed onto the ground, letting out a bizarre cry of pain. It rolled sideways to evade further attacks.

It knew something was striking it, but it could not track its assailant.

The attacker was simply too fast. The beast’s thrashing generated a violent force that battered the surrounding area.

Other beasts inhabited the inner lands, and all of them felt the tremors and the imposing presence of the Tier-7 beast. The Tier-6 and other mid-tier beasts fled the area immediately.

No one dared approach. Nearby Beast Taming Teams that were returning from core area felt the presence of the Tier-7 beast as well.

Instead of investigating the disturbance, they focused entirely on escaping safely.

None of them realized that someone was actively battling the beast.

Meanwhile,

Leonora stood awestruck. All she had seen was the white light flashing across both flanks of the beast, followed immediately by torrents of blood bursting from the wounds.

She hadn’t fully grasped what had happened until her lifeline beast communicated with her, explaining that the butterfly beast had inflicted deep wounds on both sides of the centipede’s body.

Leonora was shaken to her core. She had severely underestimated the butterfly. She glanced back at Jeremy Night.

Seeing him completely calm and composed shocked her even further. She had heard from other Beast Taming Teams that the duo possessed the talent to fight across tiers.

She had assumed they could defeat Tier-5 or Tier-6 beasts at most, never imagining his lifeline beast could take on a Tier-7 beast as well.

The revelation stunned her.

Right then, her friends reached the top of the mound. The five Beast Tamers looked toward Leonora and the armored Beast Tamer.

They stared at the armored Beast Tamer in shock. They could tell that something had happened to the

Tier-7 Centipede, and that it was connected to him, after all, they had seen that white streak of light shoot out from the mound earlier.

"Leonora, what’s going on here?" a female Beast Tamer asked.

They were desperate for an explanation.

Leonora felt no anger upon seeing them return; she was simply glad they had come back, assuming they had returned for her sake.

She said, "Meet Jeremy Night from the special base. His lifeline beast is taking down the Tier-7 Centipede right now."

"What?" her friend blurted out in disbelief.

"Is he the one?" another female companion asked.

The name Jeremy Night rang a bell. The four male Beast Tamers realized the truth as well.

Witnessing his strength firsthand and knowing he was genuinely a Tier-4 Beast Tamer, they realized the rumors and stories told by other teams were completely true.

Some of their acquaintances had even been rescued by this man and his lifeline beast. They swallowed nervously in fear.

Seeing that Jeremy was focused on the battle, they turned their attention toward the fight as well.
