STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 1150: Part 1: Back to the Beast Taming Association

Wilderness (City A)

A six-winged butterfly was cutting down the body of the Tier-7 Centipede beast. The powerful six wings were carving deep, open gashes into its flesh.

Pfff!

It didn’t take long for the Tier-7 beast to collapse onto the ground. The Centipede beast was grievously injured.

The injuries were so severe that blood flowed freely from the wounds, pooling around the fallen beast.

Stella didn’t take much time. After confirming that she had inflicted enough cuts, she returned to Jeremy Night’s side.

Swoosh!

A six-winged butterfly appeared above my head in the sky. Her six wings were a bluish-white color, covered in intricate golden patterns.

Her breathtaking appearance stunned everyone present.

The Beast Tamers standing beside Jeremy Night stared at the butterfly in shock.

It was the very same butterfly beast that had just slain the Tier-7 Centipede.

Leonora collected her thoughts and said, "Thanks for killing the beast and saving our lives."

Hearing that, her nearby friends came back to their senses as well. The three male Beast Tamers and two female Beast Tamers thanked the lifeline beast one after another.

At the same time, Jeremy Night’s mouth twitched.

"They are scared of you," I said to Stella in my mind.

[They didn’t watch your fight. Otherwise, they would be scared of you as well,] Stella replied.

Next, she requested to enter the mental zone, and he granted her entry.

Swoosh!

The six-winged butterfly vanished on the spot and entered the mental zone to rest.

Tucking her wings in, she began absorbing natural energy from the surroundings.

Leonora and her friends watched as the armored Beast Tamer recalled his lifeline beast.

"Your name is Jeremy Night, right?"

"You’ve got a powerful lifeline beast," one of the male Beast Tamers remarked in a jealous tone, making no effort to hide his greed and envy.

He was the same person who had spoken against Leonora earlier.

My eyes turned cold as my senses picked up the greed in his gaze.

Swoosh!

The next second, I appeared beside the Beast Tamer, resting my blade against his throat. The sharp edge lightly pressed into the skin of his neck.

It happened in a fraction of a second. Leonora and the others were shaken to the core.

The male Beast Tamer was even more terrified. He hadn’t been able to perceive the movement of a Tier-4 Beast Tamer at all.

His eyes fell on the edge of the blade, and beads of cold sweat broke out across his forehead.

He glanced sideways at the Tier-4 Beast Tamer, swallowing hard in sheer terror.

He realized his grave mistake: he had displayed blatant greed toward another’s lifeline beast.

"I’m sorry," he choked out.

Sensing genuine remorse in the man’s eyes, Jeremy Night lowered and sheathed his blade.

Swoosh!

A moment later, he activated his movement technique and vanished.

Under their watchful gazes, he disappeared from the area, without casting so much as a parting glance at Leonora.

Leonora stared at the empty space where the Beast Tamer Jeremy Night had stood only moments before, then turned her attention to the male Beast Tamer.

She had noticed his expression earlier.

"You shouldn’t have cast greedy eyes on his lifeline beast," Leonora scolded him.

"It was my fault. The beast was so powerful and majestic that I lost my senses for a moment," the male Beast Tamer admitted.

The other Beast Tamers were at a loss for words. They had left a terrible impression on that powerhouse, completely missing the chance to build goodwill.

Then they turned toward Leonora, as she was the only one who had managed to speak with him.

"He turned out to be remarkably strong. Otherwise, we would have faced a life-or-death crisis," Leonora said to them.

She let out a soft sigh, knowing the damage was already done and that crossing paths with him again was unlikely. Soon after, the team departed from the area.

Elsewhere, Jeremy Night found another hiding spot among a cluster of shade trees.

He hollowed out a cavity inside one of the trunks, then settled in to rest after concealing the opening with dry twigs and leaves.

Time passed.

He woke up the next morning as sunlight filtered into the tree hollow. He opened his eyes, having fallen asleep quite late into the night.

He had barely managed a couple of hours of sleep. Noticing that Stella was still resting, he brushed aside the dry leaves and twigs before stepping outside.

Thud!

He landed lightly on the ground. He surveyed the surroundings before stretching his arms and legs; he detected no traces of other beasts following the Tier-7 Centipede’s demise.

It seemed the situation at the hotspots had quieted down. Jeremy Night began planning his next move.

Knowing that many Beast Taming teams had already returned to the city, he figured he should head back as well.

After recuperating at the Beast Taming Association, he could always venture back out whenever he wished.

He also remembered his gold card. Stella would recover much faster inside the association’s specialized recovery chamber.

Swoosh!

Having made up his mind, he set off toward the city.

"Feathered Steps!"

He executed his movement technique to cross vast distances swiftly, using his enhanced vision to scan a wide perimeter along the way.

He spotted other Beast Taming teams heading back as well, likely having taken shelter overnight just as he had.

Soon, he reached the outer perimeter near the city gates. Before long, he stood directly before the entrance, observing Beast Tamers filing inside.

Swoosh!

He approached the checkpoint. Recognizing his presence, the guards nodded respectfully.

His pristine, top-grade black armor drew widespread attention, as most Beast Tamers were not equipped with complete armor sets.

Stepping into the city, he stopped a passing cab.

He directed the driver toward the Beast Taming Association. Taking in the passenger’s impressive armor set, the driver nodded with visible reverence and respect.

Jeremy entered the cab and settled into the back seat.

Swoosh!

The vehicle pulled away, heading straight for the Beast Taming Association. Jeremy looked out the window at the passing scenery.

Shops were open, and citizens were going about their daily routines.

Seeing the peaceful streets, he deduced that the wilderness crisis had subsided; otherwise, the entire city would have been in a state of high alert.
