Chapter 235: Big Sales
Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Big Sales
Hearing Ling Qianjun’s words, Hua Buwan couldn’t suppress her smile; she was grinning from ear to ear. She and Ling Qianjun shared a knowing look and decided not to set up their stall today. They knew exactly how much the people of this era loved the rain boots, gloves, and soap, so they wanted to use this opportunity to whet their customers’ appetites.
The next day, Hua Buwan, Ling Qianjun, and Ling Qianfan returned to town with another batch of rain boots, soap, and gloves.
Meanwhile, Xu Panqing and Ling Yunge stayed home. Faced with a pile of fresh catch, they prepared to dry the fish into delicious preserves. The two divided the labor. Xu Panqing was in charge of washing the fish. She skillfully scraped off the scales, cleaned out the entrails, and rinsed them thoroughly with clean water, while Ling Yunge was responsible for cutting them into appropriate sizes for better drying.
The courtyard was bright and sunny, accompanied by a gentle breeze. They arranged the cut pieces evenly in bamboo baskets before moving them onto the drying racks in the yard. The fish shimmered with a silvery light under the sun, giving off a faint, fishy scent.
The women chatted as they worked, talking about Ling Qianjun and Ling Qianfan’s fishing trip that morning. Their laughter occasionally echoed through the courtyard.
After some hard work, all the fish were finally laid out. Xu Panqing and Ling Yunge wiped the sweat from their foreheads. Looking at the racks full of fish, a deep sense of accomplishment filled their hearts. These preserves would serve as a delicious food reserve for their family, and preparing them allowed the women to experience the joy of honest labor. The surplus could even be stored away to be sold later or eaten during the winter.
Once they finished cleaning up, their conversation shifted to the trio who had gone to town. Both were a bit worried about how things were going at the market.
"I wonder if they managed to sell everything they took with them," Xu Panqing said. "They sold so well last time, but what about this time?"
"They’ll definitely sell out," Ling Yunge quickly replied. "After all, Sister Buwan’s goods are so useful. Anyone would want them."
Meanwhile, at the market.
The moment the trio arrived at their stall, returning customers crowded around them.
"You’re finally here! I’ve been waiting for ages!" an older woman said with a smile. "The quality of the rain boots and gloves I bought yesterday was excellent. I want to buy some more today."
"Thank you for your support, Ma’am!" Hua Buwan hastily replied. "We brought some new styles today. You can take a look and see if you like any of them."
"Oh, wonderful!" The woman began excitedly picking through the goods.
Just then, a young man walked over. Looking at the soap on the stall, he asked, "These soaps look pretty good. Do they do anything special?"
"We made these ourselves using natural ingredients," Ling Qianjun explained. "Not only do they cleanse the skin, but they also moisturize and hydrate it."
"Really? I’ll buy a bar to try, then." The young man pulled out his money without hesitation.
As time passed, more and more customers gathered in front of the stall. Hua Buwan, Ling Qianjun, and Ling Qianfan were happily busy, warmly greeting the customers while explaining the features and uses of their products. Before long, their inventory of rain boots, soap, and gloves was completely sold out.
Satisfied smiles graced their faces as they looked at the empty stall.
"Business was really good today!" Ling Qianfan said.
"Yes, and it’s all thanks to everyone’s support," Hua Buwan said with a smile.
"Let’s head back and prepare some more goods," Ling Qianjun suggested. "We can come back later."
