Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Repeated Confirmation

Time ticked by, and ten minutes passed in a flash. Suddenly, a piercing alarm shattered the tranquility of the room once again. This was the third alarm to go off.

Unable to stay in bed any longer, Hua Buwan sat up with extreme reluctance. She rubbed her sleep-heavy eyes with one hand while blindly reaching out with the other to switch off the alarm.

"Thank goodness I know myself well enough to set three alarms, otherwise a lazybones like me would never wake up. I’m an absolute genius!" she thought, a smug smile creeping onto her face as she stretched her arms wide for a long, luxurious yawn. Then, without hesitation, she threw off the warm covers and planted her bare feet on the freezing floor.

Hua Buwan marched into the bathroom and breezed through her morning routine at top speed. Opening her wardrobe, she picked out an elegant, understated set of ancient-style clothing. The pale colors and simple design carried a unique, subtle charm. She slipped into the garments with practiced ease, then sat at her vanity to painstakingly arrange her hair. Before long, she had fashioned a simple yet graceful bun, securing it with a single, delicate hairpin. She added no other accessories.

Once her hair and outfit were sorted, Hua Buwan moved to her makeup table to work on her face. Today, she was heading to a market in Dongxuan Country—a thousand years in the past—to set up a stall. She knew full well that her looks would draw far too much attention if left as is.

The villagers there bathed in the seaside sun every day, their skin deeply tanned and roughened by the constant sea breeze and harsh sunlight. Hua Buwan was the exact opposite. Her complexion was fair and delicate, as flawlessly dewy as a freshly peeled lychee, looking so supple it might burst at a touch. Even in the modern world, she turned heads and became the center of attention the moment she stepped out of her house. In this ancient era, people were even more fervent in their appreciation of beauty, meaning she would attract exponentially more stares than she did back home.

Furthermore, she was well aware that the unique items she planned to sell would inevitably invite greedy eyes. For her own safety, she needed to minimize her presence as much as possible, starting with dulling her appearance.

Speaking of her merchandise, the rain boots and gloves she intended to sell were primarily made of plastic and rubber. Previously, Hua Buwan had been deeply torn over this. Should she really bring items from a millennium in the future to sell in Dongxuan Country? Would doing so cause some unpredictable ripple effect in this world?

Just as she was caught in this dilemma, the system provided a timely, comforting prompt:

"Dear Host, there is no need to worry. If any modern products you sell here are damaged, dropped on the ground, or buried deep underground, the system will automatically recycle them.

"You can trade goods with the ancient people with complete peace of mind! They have the right to use the items, but the system retains the final right of interpretation."

When Hua Buwan first heard this, she had been utterly stunned, even asking the system several times to confirm if it was really true.
