Chapter 199: Confirming One by One
Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Confirming One by One
It turned out that the items she had brought back to the world a millennium in the past eventually met a variety of fates. Some might have been casually discarded after being used, while others were perhaps treated as precious treasures and buried alongside the dead. Some might have even been damaged for one reason or another.
However, regardless of what happened to them, these items would neither have any substantial impact on that ancient land, nor would they leave the slightest trace in the annals of history. They would all be automatically retrieved by that miraculous system!
Prior to learning this, Hua Buwan had actually worried about exactly this issue. What if the plastic water bottles she gave to Ling Qianjun and his men were accidentally excavated by a future archaeological team? Wouldn’t that send shockwaves through the entire archaeological community? The whole world might just tremble in disbelief! Or what if the biscuit wrappers she handed them were dug out of the ground by researchers centuries later?
Thinking about it now, she realized she had been overthinking things. Such a scenario was simply impossible.
The system had specifically informed Hua Buwan that for the people of the past, they merely enjoyed the process of possessing and using these items. It was absolutely impossible for the objects themselves to be preserved, let alone passed down through the generations. However, if the ancients managed to grasp the underlying concepts and used their own wisdom and creativity to manufacture similar objects, that would naturally be a different story.
With this explanation, the last trace of apprehension in Hua Buwan’s heart completely vanished. She could finally rest easy.
She thought to herself, "It won’t hurt to bring these things back to the ancient era to sell! After all, that mysterious and ancient world has no way of recording this experience. Not only that, but I am also destined to leave absolutely no trace of myself in the annals of history."
At this thought, a faint sense of regret welled up in Hua Buwan’s heart. Who wouldn’t want to go down in history and be remembered for generations to come?
Even though she knew she was merely a fleeting traveler in the great torrent of history, Hua Buwan firmly believed that every journey held its own unique meaning and value. Just like the ever-surging tide of time, history would always march forward along its predetermined path. She was nothing more than a tiny speck of dust in its grand, sweeping process.
Reaching this conclusion, Hua Buwan quickly accepted and digested the reality of her situation. Now, she was completely immersed in the joyful excitement and anticipation of setting up her stall. It was as if a vibrant tapestry of her future—one filled with endless surprises and challenges—was already slowly unfolding before her eyes.
She gently picked up a makeup brush and meticulously applied liquid foundation to her face, striving to create a natural, unremarkable complexion. After a bit of careful blending, her originally fair and delicate skin appeared sallow and dull, dotted with faint blemishes that mimicked the wear and tear of a hard life. Next, she used a lip liner to outline a slightly pale mouth. Bypassing vibrant colors, she applied only a layer of near-transparent lip balm to make her lips look completely lifeless.
Hua Buwan had put a tremendous amount of effort into making her disguise as realistic and flawless as possible so no one would see through it. She didn’t just meticulously contour her face; she also carefully applied makeup to her neck and hands—areas that were notorious for giving away a person’s true age.
