Chapter 197: I Still Know Myself Very Well
Chapter 197: Chapter 197: I Still Know Myself Very Well
The initial plan was to limit the standard soaps currently sold in Lingnan to three common scents. Of course, Lingnan had no shortage of wealthy households. If those rich merchants desired to try different fragrances, Hua Buwan would naturally find a way to meet their needs.
After finalizing the goods to be sold in Dongxuan Country, Hua Buwan began to work methodically. She first sorted the items one by one, then carefully packed them into exquisite bags. Every single bag was arranged neatly, as if containing priceless treasures rather than ordinary merchandise. Once everything was packed, she meticulously lined them up by the door. This way, when she woke up the next morning, she could simply grab the bags and head out with ease, saving her the trouble of repacking.
After a long stint of hard work, Hua Buwan finally completed the task, leaving her completely out of breath and drenched in sweat. Large beads of sweat rolled down her forehead, soaking her hair and clothes. However, she didn’t bother to rest for even a moment. She hurriedly grabbed a change of clothes and rushed into the bathroom.
She quickly turned on the faucet, letting the cool water wash over her exhausted body. She scrubbed her face thoroughly and carefully combed her hair, before changing into clean, fresh pajamas and walking back to her bedroom with light steps.
The moment she touched the bed, Hua Buwan collapsed like a deflated balloon. In no time at all, she fell into a deep and sweet slumber. Naturally, knowing her own tendency to oversleep, she didn’t dare to be the least bit careless. Before going to bed, she had deliberately set several alarms to prevent herself from sleeping in and ruining her plans the next morning. After all, this trip to sell goods in Dongxuan Country was of utmost importance to her. If she missed the optimal timing just because she wanted to sleep in, she would regret it bitterly.
The next morning.
The sky was just beginning to show the first light of dawn, and faint sunlight spilled onto the edge of the bed through the gaps in the curtains. Suddenly, the first alarm on the nightstand let out a rapid ringing. RING RING RING. The crisp and loud sound echoed throughout the room.
However, Hua Buwan, who was in a deep sleep, showed no reaction. She simply reached out instinctively and pressed the stop button with unerring accuracy, guided purely by feel. Her eyes remained tightly shut; she hadn’t even twitched an eyelid. She was clearly still immersed in her dreams, unwilling to wake up.
After turning off the alarm, she rolled over, casually pulled the blanket close to hold it tight, and continued her sweet slumber.
Not long after, the second alarm went off right on schedule, shattering the room’s tranquility once again. This time, although she was still somewhat reluctant, she was slightly more awake. Muttering complaints under her breath, she whimpered as she rolled back over, groping around for the alarm clock.
When she finally found it, she forcefully pressed the off button, her eyes groggily opening into a small slit. The first ray of morning sunlight shone through the window into the room. She turned her head lazily, her gaze falling on the flashing numbers of the alarm clock on the nightstand—exactly six o’clock in the morning.
Frowning slightly, she mumbled, "It’s so early. Let me sleep for just ten more minutes."
Her words seemed to be spoken to the silent air around her, but in reality, it was more like she was issuing herself a final ultimatum.
