Chapter 2317: Chapter 2317: The Dragon Who Wields the Sword
"The command is too chaotic, as if someone is deliberately causing trouble."
Iluna’s expression was very calm, and the golden glimmer in her eyes, due to using the power of The Chosen One in the darkness, showed no signs of disturbance.
The talent of "Balance" made her more attuned to the subtle changes in people’s hearts than anyone else. To Iluna, Shard’s mention of the "City of Wealth" church possibly differing from other dioceses seemed remarkably accurate.
"The protective power around that Dragon Feast Sacrificial Ground seems to originate from the Ancient God. Shard mentioned that the sacrificial ground belongs to the ’Dragon of Radiant Light’. Could the Evil God - Dragon Devourer still be able to wield this power?"
She did not directly join the battle, but stood alone at the dock, holding up a balance, trying her best to spread her power and create a domain more suitable for humans to face the dragons. After all, compared to the Half-Blood Dragon Species, the human Circle Sorcerer’s body was still too fragile.
The dragon roar coming from the direction of the city naturally caught Iluna’s attention. Upon turning around, she quickly realized that the silver great dragon flying over was Shard, but seeing the pretty blue dragon beside him, she softly hummed:
"That ship..."
Though not yet formally entering the battlefield, Miss Eles repelled the dragon beast pack attempting to leave the dock towards the city direction with a single breath of flame, and the four Grand Witches following them tilted the victory balance of the battle at the dock decisively.
Iluna still had no intention of directly joining the battle. She looked up at the glimmer of the dragon breaths from the silver dragon and blue dragon lingering in the night sky, watched as stone giants were thrown into the ocean, and the earth giants reached out from beneath the sea, saw the mini black holes detonated by the Grand Witch of Space scaring everyone away, and observed the tracking Light Sorcery emitted from the Twelve-Ring Life Ring behind Miss Aphrola shooting towards everywhere, demonstrating a power no less than those of the Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer.
The last thing she watched was a pure white unicorn leaping lightly over her head, and seeing the angel emerge behind the unicorn:
"It’s not Emilia riding on its back, but Bella Belindel... letting a mature witch ride an immature unicorn, could it be considered exploitation of the immature? Perhaps Shard might voice some interesting perspectives."
However, unlike Iluna’s idle thoughts, the people in the sky were quite aware. Knowing that his transformation state consumed more the more Arcane Techniques he used, Shard spoke to Miss Eles:
"Roar~"
(Ancient Dragon Language: Unfold the Maze Lock to buy me time, I need to try and break the barrier around that Dragon Feast Sacrificial Ground!)
The blue dragon then spewed a scorching dragon breath towards the sea surface below, causing the corpses lurking in the darkness beneath the boiling seawater to explode into clusters of green vile blood. The blue dragon flew above the silver dragon, transforming back into human form amidst the glimmer and landing on the head of that silver great dragon.
She apologetically said sorry to Shard, while although the four Grand Witches didn’t know what Shard intended to do, they still surrounded them all to protect them.
Taking a deep breath, as Miss Eles raised her hands again to summon the Life Ring, attempting to fully manifest the Maze Lock again, the massive energy and spirit fluctuation enticed the dragon pack and Dragonborn Vampire Kind to rush towards them.
However, under the protection of Light Rain, Meteor, Sword-Bearing Angel, and Dimensional Slash, they were not disturbed while the blue dragon girl gathered her strength.
Finally, due to the collision of various spirits, the previously clear night sky suddenly darkened, and even the ocean, which had been fairly calm, suddenly surged with waves.
In what seemed like just tens of seconds, torrential rain soaked the entire dock, and the gigantic cruise ship emerging from the rising seawater, filled with turrets, adorned with scales, and equipped with dragon wings at both sides, appeared before everyone’s eyes, yet no one realized what the ship signified.
Bang~ Bang~ Bang~ In a series of sounds, multicolored light bullets were spewed from hundreds of turrets, and its power was not inferior to a strike from a Twelve-Ring Sorcerer, aided by the Maze Lock. As the ship, buoyed by seawater, accelerated towards the Dragon Feast Sacrificial Ground in the Sea of Darkness, it collided into the sacrificial ground surrounded by dragons amidst thunderous noise and diverse light screens.
The invisible spherical shield finally cracked under this blow. Subsequently, as the church Ring Sorcerers, realizing the situation, also surged forward in the endlessly rising black waves to attack the sacrificial ground.
The power of the Maze Lock would also be affected by the reality of the location. For instance, a glacier summoning Maze Lock in a desert region would certainly consume more spirit. But on the sea, the power of the Maze Lock: Sea of Darkness was nearly at its peak.
The Maze Lock, which enveloped countless high-ring sorcerers, still had power to bless Shard in spite of one strike. Thus, after Miss Eles’ attack bought him time, the silver great dragon let out an angry roar:
"Roar!"
This dragon roar differed from any dragon roar tonight, even after the roar was issued, the dragons and Dragonborn felt their spirit and elemental nature become sluggish, and the reverence and fear originating from deep in their bloodstream made them lose the final opportunity to stop Shard.
Crack~
Golden thunder struck down on the Sea of Darkness, illuminating the ocean that should have been devoid of light, and then a huge silver moon surfaced above the silver "Moonlight Dragon’s" head.
At this moment, it seemed like time stood still, because no matter what people were doing, their gazes were involuntarily attracted to gaze upon that silver moon.
The strange moon gradually melted, eventually transforming into a silver greatsword taller than a mountain, with its tip falling straight down towards the sea surface. The sword plunged into the water, stirring up great waves, and its translucent blade reflected the huge eyes of the silver great dragon.
The dragon reached out its claw towards the sword, and when the silver great dragon grasped the hilt of the Moonlight Greatsword and lifted it from the water, the power generated by the sword’s tip breaking through the water almost created the spectacle of parting the sea.
"Indeed, dragons aren’t beasts; they can wield swords too."
Iluna on the dock was like a blazing golden torch, channeling most of her power into Shard to enhance his strength. The ultimate exertion of The Chosen One’s power kept the world around her in a state outside the Maze Lock. There was no rain, no darkness around her, only the raging inferno of the burning city behind, as if she and those on the sea were in two different worlds.
The blessing of Maze Lock, Iluna’s power all centered on the "Moonlight Dragon," and this time Shard nearly used all his Spirit to activate "Magic - Dragon Roar" to summon the Moonlight Greatsword.
He did not directly use the Magic - Moonlight Greatsword because he recognized that the power surrounding the Dragon Feast Sacrificial Ground originated from the Ancient God. Only the power of the Ancient God could counter the power of the Ancient God.
As he lifted the greatsword, the scene of "Maze Lock: Sea of Darkness" finally faded, revealing the scenery of Moon Bay Harbor once again.
And when Shard, transformed into the silver great dragon, reappeared above the bay, he had actually already reached near the ancient Dragon Feast Sacrificial Ground.
The dragons and dragonborn feared approaching due to his Dragon Roar, and cultists, terrified of the dragon’s mighty power, fled in all directions. Now no one could stop Shard’s actions, so the dragon wielded the enormous Moonlight Greatsword and struck fiercely at the sacrificial ground floating on the sea.
The sword traced an arc trajectory, as if it could shatter the world.
Thus—
With a cracking sound like the shattering of space, three identical greatswords seemed to fall at the same point with the summoning of the Blade of Chaotic Time.
As the giant, egg-shell-shaped shield manifested layer upon layer of virtual shadows around the sacrificial ground, the four giant light swords and the shield reached a stalemate. The greatswords disappeared one by one, but the translucent silver sword held by the Moonlight Dragon, and the near-transparent shield revealed extremely complex ancient symbols.
Two types of symbols, representing different Ancient Gods’ power, mixed and clashed. Ultimately, the magnificent silver Moonlight Greatsword, held by the dragon, broke through the shield.
Crack~ Crack~ Crack~
As the cracks spread, the entire shield transformed from transparent to crystalline, and crystals quickly shattered into powder, falling to the sea surface and the sacrificial ground.
"It turns out, now in the entire Moon Bay, apart from my Dragon Roar and Iluna’s power, there is no force that can so easily shatter this layer of shield."
The Moonlight Dragon did not withdraw its sword, despite the emptiness brought by the immense consumption of Spirit. The greatsword continued to strike downward, attempting to destroy the sacrificial ground outright, resolving the issue once and for all.
But of course, things were not that simple. The black-robed priests within the sacrificial ground began chanting after that extraordinary Dragon Roar. Just as Shard’s Moonlight Greatsword struck the sacrificial ground, a massive fissure opened in the gray ground, and a familiar, scale-covered, thick arm emerged from the ground, wielding the Sacrificial Bone Sword to clash directly with the Moonlight Greatsword.
Crack!
Shard’s sword, originally showing signs of wear after breaking the sacrificial ground’s shield, collided with the other sword, causing silver moonlight fragments to splash over the sea as the upper half of the Moonlight Greatsword broke off and spiraled into flight.
It, like the sword hilt still grasped by Shard, scattered into glowing points and disappeared, but Shard did not retreat. The dragon extended its right claw and directly grabbed the blade of the Sacrificial Bone Sword.
The Sage-Level Relic left scars on the dragon claw, but what flowed from it was not blood, but a silver stream resembling the Water of Moonlight. The Moonlight Dragon’s right claw almost got severed by the impact, yet the dragon still did not fall back.
Enduring the pain and shaking its body, the pink glowing little bottle flew out from the gaps between the glowing silver scales. In the night, the bottle looked like a flying pink meteor, which the dragon subsequently swallowed whole.
Instantly, pink hues spread from the dragon’s eyes, bathing its eyes in the color.
Recently, due to abstaining from desires, the Pink Essence Bottle radiated pink light, which now seductively seeped from the gaps between dragon scales. The influx of massive Spirit caused the dragon’s size to swell even larger.
"Roar~"
Then, it opened its mouth to unleash crimson toxic mist towards the fissure so close by, the pink light completely surrounding the giant dragon over the sacrificial ground, its agitation and desire so intense that it almost couldn’t feel the pain from the wounds where silver light streamed on its claw.
And the dragon’s left and right claws simultaneously grasped the Sacrificial Bone Sword, pulling it violently, as the phantom of a red dragon appeared behind. Astonishingly, the Moonlight Dragon managed to pull the thick arm holding the Sacrificial Bone Sword, along with the "body" behind it, directly out of the fissure in the sacrificial ground.
