Chapter 2304: Chapter 2304: Holy Sword and Divination

As for the priest clearly being a candidate for "Death," that’s not surprising at all. Iluna even corresponds to the identities of "Balance," "Death," and "Earth." Shard even thinks that "Sun" might also apply to her.

Luviya hasn’t said anything yet, but that doesn’t mean Priest Augustus isn’t a candidate. Lower-ranked candidates, even for Luviya, can only be discovered after a certain period... Shard decided that after returning, he’ll have a good talk with her.

"Could the cultists of the [Dragon Feast Cult] also be The Chosen? Where is their justice?"

Miss Sylvia asked from the side. They hadn’t noticed the "exchange" between Iluna and Shard.

Iluna answered the question, and the answer really suited her identity:

"Justice is relative. In the forest, to save a friend who was about to starve, I took the risk of killing a tiger, so I was just; but for the tiger, it was hunting for its cubs when I killed it, so I was evil."

Then Miss Benanis sat up straight and looked at Shard; she was the only Twelfth Rank Witch present:

"Don’t you have a way to identify The Chosen within a certain range? Try to determine if the Elf Girl temporarily staying at Bella’s is indeed one. If she truly is a candidate, we’ll have more choices in this battle for The Chosen."

"Alright."

Shard nodded. He now had many coins in hand, fully worth using for divination:

"There are only five swords at present, which doesn’t mean there will be only five in the future... Speaking of, since I came back this afternoon, you’ve been studying this Light Sword all the time and haven’t told me how Miss Eles’s talk with your Speaker went. Yes, I remember her surname is Isabella."

The blue-eyed girl smiled and said:

"What could it be? Naturally, my observational seat is retained, and Miss Isabella welcomes me to become a member of the Council. However, after accompanying you to collect the sword tomorrow, I’ll temporarily leave Moon Bay."

"Why?"

"Miss Adel Isabella asked me to make a trip to the New World to bring the Fire Holding Nun and the Light Witch to Moon Bay. They’ve already completed their matters in the New World, and for me, traveling between Innsmouth Port in the New World and Moon Bay Harbor in the Old Continent takes just over a day."

"Are their matters finally settled?"

Shard asked excitedly:

"Then will Sister Delphine and Miss Aphrola leave and return after arriving in Moon Bay, or remain locally?"

"Hevy will stay directly, as her followers are all around her, and she herself accepted Margaret’s invitation to come here. Politically, this is also a warning from the Royal Family to the Seven Great Families, letting us know they have more candidates to manage the city. As for the nun, she must first return to the headquarters of the [Spiritual Practice Order]."

Miss Belindel said.

"Alright, be cautious on your way. I’ve heard of inexplicable storms frequently appearing on the route to the New World."

Shard said to the blue-eyed Boat Maiden, who shook her head with a smile:

"I’m not an ordinary boat. Actually, if it weren’t for the unique circumstances of the New World, I could directly appear at any suitable port of the Old Continent using Spatial Movement ability. Shard, if you need, I can immediately carry you to Coldwater Port or those port cities on the East Coast."

This essentially unlocked a new mode of Spatial Movement for Shard besides the "Ancient God Statue," except that the eligible cities are not many, and Shard has no intentions of visiting new cities lately.

At nine in the evening, Tifa and the others brought back the Empty Bottle Fruit. The three Grand Witches performed Witch’s Secret Arts, taking a part of the Sword in Shard’s hand, turning it back into light, and filling it into that apple-shaped glass bottle, making a soft white light radiate from the bottle.

The "Empty Bottle Fruit" itself weakens the influence of the light on the outside world, and along with these special lights being already weakened, it virtually causes no harm to the outside world.

It was at this point that Shard finally dispersed the sword in his hand and watched as the witches eagerly went to find Emilia for an experiment.

Being the only person who has drawn the "Sword of Light," the Elf Girl is considered the most likely candidate to draw the sword again. With the special light now available, which Shard once condensed into a sword, Shard felt she probably won’t have time to discuss novels with Angelina these few days.

As for Shard, as it was getting late, he didn’t stay overnight. Instead, he went out of town with Mia, holding her with Iluna, crossing the Saint George Stone Bridge, and then had Iluna touch the Ancient God Statue in the Dragon Nest to return together to Tobesk.

Even though it was already close to ten at night by then, Shard still ran to Luviya’s apartment and brought her to Saint Delan Square.

On the way back, Shard briefly talked to Luviya about what happened today and the situation regarding the five holy swords.

When they returned home, Iluna was standing in the kitchen, looking at the snowy portrait on the wall, which Haila Osenfort painted for Shard at the Osenfort Estate.

Mia was on the dining table, bowing her head to eat something. Seeing Shard and Luviya return, Iluna explained:

"Shard, your cat kept running towards the kitchen. It seemed to be hungry, so I gave it some cat food."

"This cat eats a lot every day, yet neither grows fat nor bigger. Sometimes, I wonder where everything it eats goes."

Shard said as he squeezed Mia’s little belly at the dining table, drawing a dissatisfied meow from the cat.

The three of them sat in the living room, steaming teacups placed on the coffee table. Iluna enjoyed this atmosphere, especially as there were no witches around.

One [Pirate’s Blood Money], one [Wrath of the Thunder God], four [Egg of the King], two [Coin of Wisdom], totaling eight special coins, were placed on the coffee table.

"Now, we finally have enough clues, so what should we divine first?"

The purple-eyed girl was also quite excited; perhaps the answer about the Chosen of Light would be revealed.

"I’m most concerned about the matter of Priest Augustus."

Shard stroked the cat lying on his lap:

"Luviya, are you sure that until at least last Saturday, you didn’t discover the priest as a candidate?"

"Didn’t discover."

Luviya shook her head:

"Don’t waste coins to divine the priest’s matter; we’ll just go to Dawn Chapel to find him tomorrow morning. However, I won’t see Emilia anytime soon, so her situation indeed needs to be confirmed."

She picked up a "Egg of the King," gently flicked it upwards, throwing it into the air. As the coin spun and turned to ash in the air, Luviya also opened her eyes.

"How did it go?"

Iluna asked with concern.

"Interesting, she indeed is. But her ranking as a candidate is quite low, probably fourth or fifth place."

Shard nodded:

"It’s as expected; Emilia herself doesn’t have a Dragon Lineage, nor does she show much talent related to Light. Luviya, do you want to rest or continue?"

"No problem, continue. What’s the next divination?"

Iluna spoke up:

"Divine the Dragon Feast Cult. Let’s confirm whether there really are candidates among those cultists, and if so, whether their ranking is high."

Thus, another "Egg of the King" turned to ash, and this time the message wasn’t particularly bad:

"Indeed there is, and they are not human. Their ranking is slightly higher than Emilia’s, but certainly not the top candidate, I can guarantee that."

She said while slightly frowning:

"But I can’t see too much detailed information about the candidate from the Dragon Feast Cult; something about them is peculiar."

Shard and Iluna felt somewhat relieved; since they are not the top candidate, things are much simpler, otherwise they would have to think about dealing with the Chosen again.

Looking at the six remaining coins on the table, Shard considered before asking:

"Can you determine which Holy Sword will eventually be wielded by the top-ranking Chosen?"

Luviya lazily shook her head, feeling a bit exhausted from successive divinations:

"No, this directly involves the identity of the Chosen, and at least at the current stage, it can’t be divined."

"Then let’s divine about John Flynn from the New World Mutual Aid Society, the Circle Sorcerer holding the Sword of the Wind King, what is really going on with him? No, not now; you should rest for a bit first."

Then, ten minutes later, another "Egg of the King" was thrown, but this time the coin fell straight down.

Shard and Iluna looked at Luviya with surprise, and the girl with purple eyes softly said:

"Seems like we’ve caught a big fish; he must be a candidate, and his ranking is very high, otherwise it wouldn’t be impossible to divine. I can’t obtain information on this person unless you are willing to risk consuming all the coins now."

"There’s five left."

Iluna looked at Shard, and Shard understood what she meant:

"Since the Chosen is difficult to divine, let’s divine those Holy Swords. The whereabouts of the five Holy Swords, only the Angel’s Right Arm and Sorrow of Blood are still unclear. But tomorrow, Miss Eles will take me to find the Angel’s Right Arm, even though Miss Eles said it would involve engaging in battle with an almost human-shaped Angel-Level Relic, but... let’s divine the location of the Sage Level Sorrow of Blood."

When it comes to locating relics, especially such high-level relics, only Luviya in this era can do it with ease.

But as that "Egg of the King" was thrown again, and while the coin indeed turned to ash, Luviya who opened her eyes deeply frowned:

"The divination shows that the sword is not an ownerless item. But I can’t see the location of the sword or the identity information of the holder at all, only vaguely aware the holder is not human.

So, the holder of Sorrow of Blood is likely either the top candidate or the second candidate. However, since I am divining the sword rather than the person, if you wish to use three or more of the four remaining coins, there’s a certain probability to roughly locate the sword’s position. Shard, shall we give it a try?"
