Chapter 815: Chapter 812 For You to See

Amelia struggled to control her wings. After getting her new wings, it was her first time flying so far independently. Fortunately, the air force base wasn’t far from Sedona City.

A few minutes later, the castle appeared in Amelia’s vision, a trace of anticipation in her eyes.

Soon, Amelia arrived in the airspace above the castle. After circling for a while, she headed toward the landing pad located in the castle’s middle courtyard.

"Huh, is that... Lady Amelia? Look, quickly, she can fly!"

A birdkin on guard duty stared at the sky in uncertainty. Upon seeing clearly, she immediately shouted out in pleasant surprise, hurriedly telling her companions to look up.

"It really is Lady Amelia! This is wonderful, Lady Amelia can fly!" The other birdkin shouted, their faces full of excitement.

"If Big Sister Rhea knew, she would be so happy."

"This is great." Some birdkin already had slightly red rims around their eyes.

Amelia slowly landed. Looking at her companions before her, she pulled a smile, a warmth filling her heart.

However, the first person she wanted to see right now was still Lucas.

She then walked past them, running straight toward Lucas’s study.

"Lady Amelia must be very happy; she smiled at us," A birdkin sighed emotionally.

Tap, tap, tap...

Knock, knock, knock!!

Amelia arrived outside Lucas’s study and knocked on the door.

"Come in," Lucas’s voice called out.

Creaaak!

Amelia pushed the door open and walked in with a faint, almost imperceptible smile on her lips.

"Amelia, what brings you back today?" Lucas looked up and was surprised to see her. Amelia had been living at the air force base recently.

Amelia walked up to Lucas, sat directly beside him, and said lightly, "I can fly. So I came to fly for you to see."

"Really? That’s wonderful, our Amelia can fly," Lucas was stunned at first, but then his face broke into a broad smile. He reached out and rubbed Amelia’s head, warmth filling his eyes.

"Let’s go. Didn’t you want to fly for me to see? Let’s go to the backyard," Lucas said softly. He stood up, took Amelia’s hand, and led her outside, his eyes full of doting affection.

"Mhm," Amelia replied softly. Because she was so happy inside, her tone had become much gentler.

Tap, tap...

They arrived at the castle’s back garden, where the space was sufficiently wide.

"Be careful, don’t push yourself too hard," Lucas warned, rubbing Amelia’s head again.

"Okay," Amelia nodded seriously. She walked into the open space, looked back at Lucas, then got into a half-squat and jumped. Her wings spread wide and flapped vigorously several times, lifting her body over a meter off the ground.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Flapping her wings, Amelia’s body began to ascend, and she started circling around the backyard.

"Very good," Lucas smiled gently, looking up at Amelia in the sky. He could see a faint smile on her cheeks and a slight redness in her eyes.

This little girl had finally fulfilled her dream of flying independently again. She must be extremely thrilled.

"Come down now. Your wings have just finished growing, don’t tire yourself out," Lucas opened his arms and smiled.

Amelia nodded mid-air. In truth, she was feeling a bit tired; she hadn’t flown this long in a very long time.

Then she flapped her wings, circling downward toward Lucas. When she was half a meter away, she suddenly retracted her wings, letting her momentum carry her straight into Lucas’s embrace.

"Ha!" Lucas caught Amelia steadily with both arms, taking half a step back before stabilizing his footing. With his current physical strength, Amelia’s weight was nothing to him.

"Are you tired?" Lucas looked at Amelia’s face, noticing the sweat on her forehead.

Even in this sweltering weather, Amelia had been continuously practicing flying at the air force base, all to earn today’s soar.

Lucas had tried to persuade her to rest before, but the girl was very stubborn. In the end, he could only have people keep an eye on her, constantly bringing her water and iced drinks, terrified she might get heatstroke.

Fortunately, there were medics at the air force base carrying anti-heatstroke medicine with them, which gave Lucas some peace of mind.

"Not tired," Amelia shook her head.

"Let’s go back inside," Lucas set Amelia down, took her hand, and walked back into the castle.

Tap, tap...

Lucas turned his head to look at Amelia’s face and suddenly said, "When Rhea returns and sees you can fly, she’ll be very happy."

"Father, will Big Sister be in any danger?" Amelia looked up and asked with concern.

"She’ll be fine. The upgraded military crossbows Rhea took this time are made of a new alloy. Paired with strong anesthetics, killing a dragon won’t be a problem," Lucas said calmly.

He thought for a moment and added soothingly, "Besides, there are special operatives accompanying her this time. They will all help."

In fact, it was true. The new alloy military crossbows and bolts Rhea had taken possessed incredible penetrative power—they could pierce straight through iron armor, not to mention a dinosaur’s body.

"Oh," Amelia pouted slightly. Her inner worry had eased a bit, but her longing for Rhea hadn’t diminished in the slightest.

As they walked, she suddenly asked, "Father, can I go on missions like Big Sister?"

"That will have to wait until you’ve grown a little more. Then you can operate alongside Rhea and the others," Lucas paused for a moment before responding softly.

"Okay." Amelia also knew that even if she went to help now, she wouldn’t be of much use.

"What do you want to eat today? Let’s celebrate your return to the skies," Lucas ruffled the girl’s beautiful hair.

"Hotpot," Amelia said without a second thought.

"Haha... sure," Lucas laughed heartily.
