Chapter 2129: Three Become One (III)

  • Next Chapter

Almost no one detected what Li Hao was doing throughout the chaos because he’d disguised each of his little selves with the dao of hiding. This dao had come from Li Zhu. Li Hao had been able to use it to conceal himself from chaos tribulations when his cultivation level was mediocre, to say nothing of what he could do with it now.

The exalted emperors on the worlds he picked were exceedingly weak. These ordinary eighth ranks wouldn’t detect amiss.

Every piece of flesh and blood ultimately assimilated with the world origin, there to stay until Li Hao summoned them back to him!

......

As Li Hao made his moves.

Time passed furiously in the new chaos.

A dark river seemed to appear within the original river. Death qi exuded from it and someone hovered beneath the heavens, looking around with proud joy.

“I knew that I didn’t see things incorrectly that year!” murmured the person. I knew it! It was the dao of death that fell into the river.

Today, I establish the river of dead spirits. I am the yin of the worlds and fully rival the existences that created the worlds back in the day. From today forth, I am... the master of the dead!

The worlds shook as a new dao appeared in the chaos. Death qi wafted through the void and the core origin of countless dead integrated with the river.

At the same time, outside the river.

There were two more doorways now!

That made for three thresholds total. Top, middle, and bottom. It was no longer the scene of one doorframe that Li Hao had left behind.

Something pulsed in the depths of the river and a being took shape. It bore some resemblance to Li Hao, but looked on with fury in its eyes.

“You abandoned us...” he murmured and stared at the waters. The surface churned as he ground his teeth. “In that case, I am no longer Firmament. From this day forth, I am... the spirit of the river!”

He would devour the river and control it!

He’d fought for that one for endless years, but was tossed away the day the worlds were created in the new chaos. He burned with bitterness!

......

In another locale.

A mountain formed, looking like a sword. A person looked around with an open and slightly dumb expression, scratching his head after a while. “I am... Sword... Today... I create Sword Mountain and accept all sword cultivators in existence...”

There were some memories in his mind, but very few of them. However, there seemed to be one figure persistent in all of them.

Creating worlds with time?

Oh, I think... I was that sword that created the worlds!

But... why do I feel like... I’m missing something?

Whatever, I need to cultivate too.

......

Time circulated madly in the new chaos and cycled through the eras.

At the same time, in a somewhat illusory place.

A group of people were in closed door cultivation. Su Yu opened his eyes and smiled at the Sun God in front of him.

“You can go back now. I’ve taught you everything I should over these years!”

“My thanks to Emperor Yu for your tutelage!” beamed an overjoyed Sun God. He spent these years listening to this person lecture on dao. The gains had been tremendous!

He didn’t dare disturb the august personage any longer since he was being shown the door.

“I don’t know when I might see Emperor Yu again...” he said with trepidation. “I will never forget what I have learned!”

He appeared quite honest and forthright in this moment.

“Oh we’ll meet again,” laughed Su Yu. “In fact, we’ll meet tomorrow. You might be very surprised when we do!”

As confused as he was, the Sun God didn’t dare ask further. He quickly took his leave and returned to his original world. That world hovered in the void, like a seed.

Su Yu looked quietly at it, not saying anything. He simply sensed a few things and sank into contemplation. How interesting. So this was the world that the first generation of time dwelled in. The one he’d met and known before... the master of time and one who he called old geezer... was the second generation?

And was he himself the third?

Pah!

I’m not!

Seriously, when will time sync up?

A river appeared in his eye and Su Yu made a swift comparison. It was replaced by a thoughtful look. It looked like, it might be... soon.

His eyes widened. Something was happening in the world in front of him.

...a familiar presence drifted out before long!

“Eh?!” Su Yu started. Dead??

How could that be?!

He quickly walked out of where he was and passed through time, arriving over the world. He could see a familiar figure collapsing!

But... how was that possible?!

How could anyone kill him??

No, he hadn’t been killed. He’d killed... himself?

“Damn it!” Su Yu frowned. Was there a need for that?!

A star appeared in front of him, heading toward him. Su Yu’s frown deepened. That guy really had given up on time, but why?

This was such a headache!

“Eh? This is...” he coughed after a while when he sensed something. The star rotated in front of him, conjuring some past memories in his mind.

Su Yu stared, in a daze. He sighed after a long moment and waved a hand, sending the star in a faster rotation. The worlds seemed reborn and a new world seemed to appear. It was locked to a certain moment in time. Countless palaces appeared, as did a lot of figures.

A person with a cat appeared within them. That person looked up at the sky, at Su Yu. He smiled benignly, “What joy is there in life and what fear is there in death? Is there a need for this?”

“You’re so boring!” Su Yu shook his head. “I simply noticed that there is a spirit in your main dao. I didn’t do this to see you. I can’t be bothered to listen to you prattle on either. Let this dao spirit grow and develop. It might be a companion for my Furball in the future!”

A white furry ball appeared over his head. It looked curiously at the world in front of it. It saw a fat cat and another cat...

It was both intrigued and confused. What were these?

Su Yu ruffled its fur with a grin. “This is a dao spirit too, but it’s not mature yet. It will be intelligent once it matures and will be able to command a dao like you!”

With that, Su Yu refused to look at the person in front of him any more. He was annoyed. What an irritating trip this had been!

What had been the point of this?

I hate people like you guys the most. You’re so irresponsible and dump a lot of trouble in other people’s laps!

Su Yu ignored everything and watched from outside the world that the Sun God called home, as if he was a divine spirit removed from everything. He watched as it changed and grew and developed, until finally...

A familiar person started to rise from it.

Su Yu narrowed his eyes. This person seemed to be that one from the battle. So this was who the Sun God had later pursued. That meant it was almost time!

This means it’s almost time for my myriad of worlds too. Once the three currents of time reach the same point, then the three will become one!

“This world has reached late stage development. My chaos is reaching the point in which I appear. The past, present, and future are about to become one. I will be able to leave this place then!”

He fully understood everything now and was eager for things to move forward!

Although he didn’t like to seek trouble, he would answer in kind when trouble came for him. I’ll take care of everything first and defeat all my enemies, then beat up old geezer time. That’ll about do it!

“So this is New Martial!” he murmured. This was the age of New Martial. So the group of people he’d seen last time were from New Martial. That made the master of time a descendant of New Martial?

But that was confusing. If New Martial was so strong, how had time risen later on?

Weird!

He saw something shaped like a flying ship shoot out of the world. Su Yu grabbed it with a grin, retrieving the ship that would’ve had trouble breaking the world barrier!

A world appeared around them.

How interesting...

“It’s time to get to work, Blue Sky! It’s up to you to create countless living beings and replicas. Show these New Martial guys how strong our myriad of worlds are!”

“You’re so evil, Big Brother Yu!” someone tittered behind him.

Su Yu shuddered. This replica dao was uncanny.

He then frowned at someone within New Martial. This one liked to play with replicas too... I wonder if he’s connected to Blue Sky? Some of his heritage ought to be in my chaos. But it was Time that created the worlds, not him, right?

It better not have anything to do with him. If so... I won’t be able to beat you to death!

Blue Sky’s getting weirder and weirder these days! I can barely tolerate her sometimes. I really hope you have nothing to do with him or I’ll bash your face in before we say anything!

Countless beings appeared in the world behind them, each of them amazingly lifelike. An entire world had been populated—by one person!

It was a horrifying thought.

Laughter, chatter, grief, and partings played out in this illusory world.

The primary body of the one called Blue Sky materialized next to Su Yu. She giggled like a child. “That was so fun, Big Brother Yu. I can’t wait to enter the chaos... Tell me, can my endless replicas have a rip-roaring life story with the Master of Time?”

“......” Su Yu gaped, then laughed after a long while. “You can! You have my support!”

Go bug him and stay out of my hair.

All the same, this will be so... so fun to watch!

I’m finally meeting you, Time! I hope you don’t disappoint!

Su Yu turned to gaze upon the star of time. He raised an eyebrow, then looked at the swiftly rising Human King. Time was still flowing at a furious rate.

The youngster laughed with understanding! Perhaps... this person doesn’t want time! I see! Does that mean that time is born from the new world? How interesting!

He considered the Human King as Fang Ping fought valiantly. This person’s blade method... seemed a bit familiar.

Su Yu turned to those behind him, many were observing as well. Some of their daos... bore familiar hints of New Martial daos. It looked like they were of the same heritage.

I see!

The three becoming one, is it?

A knowing look entered Su Yu’s eyes. He fully understood the relationship web now. Just as the past, present, and future of time were one body, perhaps the source of their myriad worlds was here.

“We can return after a little while longer,” Su Yu smiled. “And then... we’ll be able to descend upon the real chaos!”

Excitement and nervousness flared among the assembled. Were they going to enter the real world now? How exciting and nerve-wracking!
