Chapter 2128: Three Become One (II)

If the ninth ranks caused the collapse of the chaos origin, then the entire chaos universe might fall into silence. No more beings would be born in the chaos anymore. The worlds would fall after the current batch of living died.

In that case, what was the meaning of life when only one or a couple of them were still alive? Not to mention, when a world stilled, it was only a matter of time before all of its living beings died as well.

A more dangerous proposition was if the entire chaos and great dao collapsed. If that came to pass, then all of existence was over.

“I don’t mean to cause an armageddon,” Calamity chuckled. “My thoughts are that it’s so hard for us to descend right now, but we can extract some chaos origin to strengthen ourselves. If that helps us create a stronger replica for ourselves, we will be able to do more. We’ve all withered some after so many years of being sealed away...”

“You can give it a try yourself!” Skyward snapped.

“We can forget it if there’s not unanimous consent,” Calamity smiled. “I’m not doing this just for myself either. For example, if we can extract Li Hao’s family from the core origin and use it to threaten him...”

“He’s already lost time, what would be the point of doing that?” Skyward asked.

“But based on your previous logic, he will be able to regain control over time. That still makes him an enormous threat. Since he’s focused on reviving some mundanes, why don’t we retrieve them ahead of time and use them to deter him. That will create an ace up our sleeves if anything untoward happens!”

Skyward frowned slightly, sinking into deep thought. Was this worth i?

Calamity naturally didn’t want to do just this, this was only one of the reasons. He still wanted to extract chaos origin primarily to strengthen himself and his cultivation level.

And he might have some other motives in mind as well.

The origin of the chaos was equivalent to the heart of the world. It was even the equivalent of the origin of dao.

There wasn’t much of a chance for the ninth ranks to seize control of it. They didn’t have the ability to do so. Reverse assimilation might easily occur instead if they tried to force possession of it. The ninth ranks would then become part of chaos origin.

Perhaps Calamity felt that since Long Zhan could take a bite of the origin before, then naturally he could as well, as a ninth rank.

Skyward shook his head after a long period of time. “I don’t recommend doing this, but if you insist, you can give it a try!”

Calamity smiled and didn’t press on. Skyward hadn’t agreed. Though he’d said to give it a try, but...

The man lifted his head to look at the massive heart that was hovering in the gloom. It would be a very dangerous undertaking... and that was only one point. He was more worried that... there were some secrets hidden within, such as Skyward having done something to the chaos origin.

Who knew?

Anything was possible.

Calamity was highly suspicious that Skyward had secretly extracted some spirit from the chaos. That guy was just hiding it well. Since it’d occurred to Li Hao that Skyward was making some excuses for his behavior, Calamity would naturally think of this possibility as well.

The others might not care, but he cared very much so.

The four regions were almost one with his region, the Calamity master was aware of certain details. Spirit had been recovering all this time, but it hadn’t grown to any noticeable degree. Skyward major world had been absorbing spirit earlier on as well, but showed no signs of movement for it.

What are you trying to do... Skyward?

Calamity didn’t spend more mental energy on this question. Some people were very hard to see through. Take that Li Hao, for example. Was that guy really waiting for the new chaos to mature so that he could take it back, like everyone said he was?

Was there a need to do so?

Skyward’s replica would be no match for him if the young man decided to outright take the false chaos again. And as strong as Chaos Sky was, Li Hao stood a chance of eliminating the man together if he worked with his allies.

That would leave Li Hao and his people to be the only voices in the chaos.

And yet, the young man had not done so. That was surprising. Although there were many people swallowing chaos strength these days, there was no trace of Li Hao. Had the guy really given up?

The ninth ranks didn’t understand him!

......

Within the darkness of the chaos.

The worlds shook these days and the universe was uneasy. Allheaven Hall had shattered, resulting in countless exalted emperors not daring to set a foot off world. All of them hunkered down, shivering with fright in their homes.

Ripples traveled through the void everyday, sure signs of worlds collapsing. All of them were formidable worlds.

The key was, there was no way to obtain more information. The exalted emperors could only passively wait for the results. This was agony for many,, but there was no helping it.

At the moment, within the chaos. Beside a minor world.

A human and a dog appeared out of thin air, eerily soundless.

Li Hao looked at the minor world in front of him and made some quick calculations. He pinched off some flesh and blood from his right arm. It was translucent. There seemed to be a tiny Li Hao standing within it.

It was a very bizarre sight!

The notion of cells splitting came to mind, but the center of said cell was Li Hao!

A strong force of attachment emanated from the flesh and blood, taking the piece with it toward the minor world.

Moments later, the piece of flesh stuck to the world and slowly began melding with it.

Li Hao and Panther were like bandits or assassins in the dark. They kept an exceedingly low profile and skulked ominously in the shadows.

“The 627th world...” Li Hao murmured. “One-tenth of my right arm is complete...”

The young man glanced at his right arm. It was a full one-tenth shorter than before. That didn’t seem out of place when looked at separately, but the differences were stark when the two arms were compared.

Panther curled its lip when the dog looked at Li Hao’s arm. Part of it was missing!

Granted, given how the young man was wearing a long robe, the sleeve covered the aberration. It was difficult to see much if one didn’t look closely.

“The entire eastern region should be enough for my two arms!” Li Hao concluded with a grin after he ran more calculations.

The dog wagged its tail without a word. This was the experience that Li Hao had accumulated after many tries. He’d once become part of the river of dao, then the Thunder Region, then the new chaos...

And today, he was reforging his flesh and blood!

Using cells as immaterial worlds and incorporating them into the myriad of worlds in the chaos... There were countless worlds in the chaos that were all manner of sizes. There were probably several hundred thousand, which was a frightful concept.

Li Hao was recombining himself based on the order of the nine layers that he’d observed and assimilating his flesh and blood into the worlds. That would enable him to absorb their spirit, will, and survival ability, while also nurturing his own body. ℯ𝔴ℯ

“Arf!” Panth barked softly. Can you really retrieve all of your parts after splitting into so many? Aren’t you doomed if you can’t?

“Don’t worry. There’s a portion of me in every piece of flesh. They’re combining flesh and blood through the combination of supernatural characters. One droplet of blood is a dao and a supernatural character.

“They don’t devour strength, they’ll just nurture my flesh and blood. And the key to that is the will!” Li Hao grinned. “Just you wait, Panth. When the time comes, the entire chaos will be me! I’ll be part of the worlds and will be able to get back to my feet from them as well. I will be invincible when I take a stand!”

“......” Whatever you say, man. Panther was speechless. What if there’s infinite little Li Haos then and you can’t consolidate them all? Not to mention, it’s only a matter of time before someone discovers something wrong with your current state of being.

The flesh and blood that Li Hao had sent out could not be replaced. It was lost!

And that was most terrifying of all.

At Li Hao’s level, regenerating blood was no problem. And yet, his arm stayed short after his actions. It could not regenerate!

“Don’t worry, it won’t be that easy to see that something’s wrong,” the young man chuckled. “Once I complete the plan and locate Number Two, I’ll have the cat replicate me and then have Hu Qingfeng summon another shadow of me. When it becomes part of me, there really won’t be any change from how I was before!”

Panther didn’t make a sound. Will that really work? Well, it’s your plan.

Everyone was making use of every second possible to seize more energy, whereas the two of them were slinking through the shadows. They scattered Li Hao’s flesh and blood in every nook and cranny they came to, but who knew how long they would have to do this for?

“Panth...”

“Arf!” The dog looked at Li Hao with puzzlement.

“Notify those of Silver Moon that they should create some confusion,” Li Hao laughed. “Have Ling Yu start making her rounds again and advertise the philosophy of her divine nation. Change the core tenet of her belief to... me!”

Panther looked blankly at the young man. What did that mean?

“You silly dog.” Li Hao patted its head. “People won’t feel easy about me being quiet all this time. We might as well have the queen start something so that people think I’m absorbing the power of faith, that I’m planning to use it to recover my strength!”

That would also give those powerhouses comfort and redirect their eyes away from me. I’m too busy focusing on myself to bother them!

“In addition...” Li Hao paused. “Confusion and unrest will make those of the chaos have a greater desire for survival!”

He really seemed to be the ultimate villain in this moment. The young man wanted to make use of confusion and unrest to inspire a burning desire for survival out of the denizens of the universe. He would also absorb faith on the surface, thereby distracting anyone who may have discovered what he was doing.

Panther nodded. It was easy for it to contact Silver Moon since it was the spirit of Silver Moon.

Li Hao traveled to his next destination with the black dog in tow. Panther looked around alertly, deathly afraid of being discovered. It was completely wrapped up in the role of being a guard dog and had completely forgotten that it was a seventh rank in its own right.

One human and one dog drifted through the chaos like wraiths.

Li Hao didn’t randomly toss around bits of his flesh and blood. He was following the layout of the nine layers and the arrangement of the worlds. Those were the sites that he focused on.

He gradually used up so much of his right arm that it became a nub! If this continued, he would become a one-armed hero.

Many worlds were now affixed with an imperceptible piece of flesh. Tiny Li Haos sat cross-legged in each of them, absorbing something.

They were too small to be seen!
