Chapter 2088: Prelude (I)

Spring Autumn had five eighth rank major monster spirits on her side. New Martial and Silver Moon had more than a dozen eighth ranks between the two of them.

Long Zhan and Chaos Sky also had more than a dozen eighth ranks with their combined forces.

The gap between the two sides wasn’t that great.

The key was that if the Human King and Spring Autumn left, there would be no one left to take on the captain of the Nine Layer Guard. That was a very formidable personage.

This was when Supreme Zhang turned to the Sun God. “Ole Sun, can you and I jointly handle him?”

The Sun God nearly rolled his eyes. These guys and the nicknames they give people... Sigh. Can we handle him?

The guard captain was extremely strong at eight thousand daos. Meanwhile, the Sun God and Zhang Tao were both four to five thousand dao rules. It could take three or four of them to go against the guard captain, much less just two.

But if the Human King and Spring Autumn didn’t go, Li Hao wouldn’t stand a chance fighting two premier powerhouses by himself. Only with the Human King and Spring Autumn on the scene, preferably to preoccupy Chaos Sky so that Li Hao only needed to face Long Zhan, would the young man have some hope of prevailing.

The look in the Sun God’s eyes grew cold as he nodded. “Let’s give it a try! However... this will be very dangerous!

“Your fists are unparalleled, why don’t you go first and I’ll follow you!” the supreme grinned.

The Sun God cursed to himself. This guy really sucks to be calling for that tactic at a time like this!

But since the situation had developed this way, there was nothing else to say.

The Sun God blazed with presence and supernatural characters. They came down over the worlds as he roared, “I’ll fight you, you old thing!”

A world-shattering punch barrelled toward Withdrawal.

The guard captain was truly a premier heavyweight. He watched coldly as the Human King shook him off and sped for the firmament. Being one of the strongest ones on the scene, only Li Hao, Long Zhan, and the Human King rivaled him at roughly eight thousand daos.

Spring Autumn was a bit stronger than that, and Chaos Sky naturally even stronger.

If there was a ranking of the top five in the current conflict, Withdrawal would at least be in the top five. But the Human King was ignoring him!

The guard captain snorted. Very well, in that case, he would take advantage of this opening to kill all of the New Martial, Silver Moon, and Spring Autumn eighth ranks, then help the dao master!

“Nine Layer Guard and chaos race, listen to my commands and kill them!” Withdrawal flared with overwhelming presence. He stabbed his sword at the Sun God.

Although the Sun God was strong, that was only relatively speaking. The Sun God may have improved quickly thanks to absorbing his past and present, but he was still a far cry from Withdrawal.

More than thirty eighth ranks between the two factions clashed in the void. The heavens shattered and earth crumbled!

The barrier of the ninth layer shattered into pieces and swept through the western region.

The Sun God and Supreme Zhang were working together to meet that premier powerhouse in battle. Although they couldn’t match the other, they could endure for a moment or two in the short run.

To be frank, there was a massive gap between two cultivators near five thousand daos and their opponent of eight thousand daos. But the key was, there was a cat here who darted in and out of sight. Its fishing rod occasionally appeared overhead, harassing Withdrawal.

This cat was not one to run afoul of. It was first rate when it came to causing mischief.

Li Hao was still moving forward.

Behind him, Chaos Sky, Long Zhan, the Human King, and Spring Autumn were hot on his heels. Li Hao moved extremely swiftly as he glided through time. He twinkled out of sight with a flash, reappearing very far away.

Chaos Sky was in no hurry, despite what Li Hao was setting out to do. The further away the young man traveled, the better. They had been in the heart of the western region before this. Fighting in that locale would’ve devastated the region.

It was for the best that Li Hao wished to head further away. He better go to the end of the west, the true edge of the chaos!

Clearly, Li Hao did not intend to ruin the west. If he’d stayed and engaged in this fight with so many powerhouses, the western region was sure to be thrown into disarray. Order would be completely broken then.

Li Hao sped through the void, passing through one plane with each step. Powerhouses followed behind him. They focused on chasing down the young man and refrained from attacking each other.

Li Hao finally stopped after a while. There seemed to be unbounded darkness in the distance. Wild chaos swept through the void, but it didn’t exceed a certain range. Instead, it was contained within a zone.

This was the true end of the western region. It might be one of the ends of the chaos. The unexplored hinterlands of the west lay beyond them.

Li Hao pulled up short.

“At least you have some sense left in you!” Chaos Sky materialized and leveled a stern look at Li Hao. Thank goodness. They weren’t near Chaos Sky Region anymore.

The Human King and rest caught up at this time. It was easy to judge their respective levels of strength from their relative speeds. Spring Autumn was having an easy time, whereas Long Zhan and the Human King panted for breath.

The latter two were speedy enough already, but Chaos Sky was incredibly strong and Spring Autumn was skilled at the passing of the seasons. That made them equally fast as Li Hao, who was adept with time.

Long Zhan and the Human King finally had a chance to catch their breath.

“Damn dude, why run so far?” Fang Ping heaved a loud sigh. It’d been so tiring to keep up! They were so far away that if Ole Zhang couldn’t keep up with his opponents, Fang Ping wouldn’t have time to go back to rescue him.

Withdrawal was extremely strong. The joint forces of Ole Zhang and Sun God would likely have difficulty standing against him. Just as Li Hao easily took down six eighth ranks, Withdrawal would have no problems eliminating his opponents, despite a relative lack of techniques to draw from.

Li Hao turned back and addressed Chaos Sky, “Is this the end of the chaos?” The young man looked around quizzically. “Is there... only one chaos?”

Just as one thought there was only one world when standing within it, it took exiting that world and entering the chaos to realize that there was more than one world in existence.

There were many worlds! Infinite worlds!

When one was situated within a mountain, they did not know that there were mountains beyond the mountain.

Chaos Sky recovered his cool aplomb and had the mindset to reply, “No one’s ever walked out of the chaos before. Perhaps... it takes leaving it to learn if there is more than one chaos. Not to mention, there is no need to know the answer to that question. No one has ever united our chaos. What use is there in knowing about others?"

This wasn’t important.

Fair enough!

“This is a nice place,” Li Hao nodded. “It’s quiet and peaceful, and also close to order.”

A long river appeared with the conclusion of his words and ran through the void!

Branches of the river materialized from other locales, as did stars that became worlds. Li Hao was surrounded by worlds, they were all around him. This tranquil border of the chaos was suddenly rife with life.

River waters leapt and surged!

“This will be the place!”

The massive disruption attracted attention from living beings in the various corners of the chaos. They sensed something or saw something. And so, the quiet was broken!

Li Hao didn’t hesitate when countless worlds revolved around him. Worlds shifted colors and all of the great daos within the area were spontaneously silenced. The young man had expelled them.

Chaos Sky immediately appeared in front of the young man!

The Human King and Spring Autumn responded as well. Spring Autumn had summoned thousands upon thousands of her replicas. A slightly maddened look was in her eyes and she’d even returned to her primary body of a cicada.

She was small, exquisite, glittered like a crystal, and was exceptionally beautiful.

“Chaos Sky, so what if he establishes his chaos?” Spring Autumn chirped, bringing the worlds back to life. The sun and moon appeared to illuminate space and time.

So what if Li Hao was allowed to succeed?

Chaos Sky didn’t respond. It was easy to run one’s mouth when the consequences happened only to someone else!

Then how about having Li Hao use your territory to establish his chaos?! I would say the same thing then!

Chaos Sky brought in a wave of dark energy and sent the chaos churning. The strength from Li Hao’s river was spontaneously repelled. However, the young man paid attention to only the sun, moon, and stars overhead.

Long Zhan returned to the form of a massive golden dragon and soared into the air, diving for Li Hao!

Chaos Sky could handle two opponents by himself. What he needed to do now was to stop Li Hao from seizing spirit and supplanting the spirit of dao.

The golden dragon howled, piercing through the void with his dragon tail. The river shook and stars shattered. Long Zhan’s strength was so immense that just its appearance could break the chaos.

Long Zhan hovered near Li Hao, a foreboding look in his eyes.

“Stop, Li Hao!” By this point, Long Zhan knew that Li Hao wouldn’t possibly stand down. But still... It was a complicated mix of emotions that ran through the dragon.

To him, Li Hao was a critical personnel vital in the fight against the ninth ranks. He did not wish to be enemies with Li Hao right this moment.

Truly.

Long Zhan had accepted Spring Autumn’s invite to come here not because he wanted to take down Li Hao, but because the situation was changing so quickly that he had to stop the young man.

Li Hao didn’t say a word.

Five thousand worlds appeared and revolved around him. The immense energy swept through the area. He turned to the golden dragon. Long Zhan was displaying so much presence and vibrant blood qi that it was almost crashing through the chaos walls.

Long Zhan was stronger than he’d been in the last engagement.

Li Hao laughed and raised his longsword, slashing it forward. Five thousand stars rearranged them into a straight line, then snaked into a new configuration.

Five thousand stars set themselves into a formation, one resembling a dragon. It charged Long Zhan!

Li Hao himself did not opt into battle. Long Zhan was a premier powerhouse of body dao. There was nothing to be gained in close quarters combat with the dragon.
