Chapter 2089: Prelude (II)

The stars, sun, and moon appeared in Li Hao’s eyes. The star of time also appeared from his forehead. The myriad of daos within time rippled, exuding light.

Establishing a new chaos wasn’t as simple as just creating a new pocket of space. It was a very complicated process!

Li Hao had simulated it a few times before, but was still a bit nervous when it came time for actual creation. He took a deep breath before the star of time started crumbling away. A myriad of daos appeared, as did many minor worlds materialize.

All of them were enveloped by time and all of them trembled violently. Dao stars assembled into a straight line, seeking to encircle the entire void and Long Zhan.

River upon river surfaced out of the surroundings and encircled the worlds. The dragon’s tail came sweeping over!

Long Zhan’s blood qi reached an extreme and his body broke through the void. He shattered countless stars with one blow, drawing a grunt from Li Hao.

Long Zhan standing in my way means that establishing a chaos will be harder than anticipated. It’s not something that will be completed in a split second.

Li Hao turned to assess the dragon. Long Zhan blazed with battle strength and threw himself everywhere, ramming through all of the sword qi that stood in his way.

Having been nurtured all this time, the Firmament Sword was now incredibly formidable. However, fiery sparks flew out from it as the dragon tail pummeled it. Countless cracks formed, ones that were swiftly repaired, but were then smashed into the sword again.

The young man furrowed his brows and reached out, palm down. Droplets of blood formed on his fingertips and dripped into space. When they froze, they each transformed into a Li Hao. There were now multiple Li Haos that walked toward the Firmament Sword and became part of it.

A supernatural character appeared over the sword.

Firmament!

“I suppress the firmament with my blood!” A growl lit up the ‘firmament’ character with iridescent light. There was a new layer in the chaos. In this place without heaven or earth... they suddenly seemed to exist!

After the supernatural character absorbed endless fresh blood, heaven and earth smashed together!

Sword qi filled the void!

Dominating sword qi slammed down on Long Zhan. The three powerhouses exchanged blows on the outskirts and fought so hard that the chaos dimmed and a myriad of daos were extinguished!

Li Hao was in no hurry. He didn’t intend to kill Long Zhan, he just wanted to stop the dragon for a moment. This was only the beginning of establishing his chaos.

The star of time began to fracture again and a massively thick avenue of dao appeared over Li Hao’s head.

It was chaos dao!

The queen materialized within the dao. Countless eyes peered at them from the end of the dao.

The young man paused, looked above him, and abruptly integrated his body into chaos dao. His body was a sword that cut through the avenue.

Chaos dao shook and howled with indignity! The human was cutting into it!

Long Zhan bellowed with rage, undulating chaos dao so violently that it sought to throw Li Hao out. The dragon controlled the spirit of the chaos and as such, had a certain degree of manipulation over chaos dao.

It wasn’t much, but it was enough to strike back at Li Hao’s segmentation of the chaos dao.

Li Hao turned back to look at Long Zhan with some resignation. This guy... was seriously annoying.

He gets in my way again and again! I’ve got to trip him up some more.

“Five elements, gather!” Li Hao growled, coalescing the scattered elemental energy. A shadow appeared from them. It looked both like Li Hao and... Yuan Shuo!

The shadow rushed forward with a punch as soon as it appeared, making straight for Long Zhan!

That wasn’t enough. Li Hao made a cut on his body again and exposed his five organs. They were like five miniature, bloody people, each the size of a fist.

Revealed in the middle of ferrying Li Hao’s blood qi around his body, they melded with the shadow. It swelled with renewed strength and sped for Long Zhan.

Within the depths of the chaos.

The ninth ranks had their eyes on the proceedings.

“What a ruthless person,” said the dao master of the five elements. “He’s moving around the foundation of his body, infusing his mental strength with blood qi, and integrating the five elements into his organs to just barely hold out against Long Zhan.

“His organs will collapse as time goes on, as will the five elements fall apart. He may succeed in establishing his chaos, but he... might not be able to strengthen himself. He might even turn out weaker instead.”

The ninth rank didn’t quite understand Li Hao’s decision. Wasn’t the young man establishing his chaos to grow stronger? How much additional strength would he walk away with at this rate?

“Melding his master’s spirit into the void and having him wield the five elements on behalf of Li Hao is a good idea, but... that will only give him some hope against Long Zhan. It will still be harder than ascending the heavens if he wishes to fight Chaos Sky. He’s probably going to fail in his attempt.”

Some of the ninth ranks didn’t look kindly on Li Hao’s chances.

As strong as the Human King and Spring Autumn were, they still fell short compared to Chaos Sky at the end of the day. With Long Zhan dogging Li Hao’s footsteps, it made for incredibly difficult going when Li Hao was just seeking to establish his foundations. It would be harder than ascending the heavens if he really wanted to create a new chaos!

Li Hao’s face was rather pale, but he didn’t mind.

He was part of chaos dao. Long Zhan struggled with the shadow to the rear, but the shadow couldn’t rival the dragon. It was beaten into retreat in the blink of an eye. Clearly, Long Zhan overpowered the shadow.

Long Zhan crooned, shaking the surroundings. Blood raced backward within the shadow and endless droplets of blood broke apart, scattering throughout the void.

Li Hao still didn’t look back. He continued onward in the form of a sword and continued to hack away at chaos dao. The young man wanted to cut off a portion of the chaos origin if he could, but sadly, it was located further in, beyond the ninth ranks.

There was probably no chance for him to intercept a portion of the chaos origin, not unless he entered the depths of the chaos and fought the ninth ranks.

The ninth ranks would stay out of his way while he cut into chaos dao, but if he rushed in... they would quickly tear him apart.

“What a pity...” murmured Li Hao. What a darned pity. He would be a bit stronger and everything would be a bit more convenient if he had chaos origin to work with. Unfortunately, he couldn’t obtain any.

There was no helping it!

Neither could he continue to wait. More troubles would crop up if he did.

Li Hao exhaled, summoning the star of time again. It’d come back together from the myriad of worlds that he’d turned it into before.

However, it lacked some luster.

Some people hummed with astonishment. Where did this second star of time come from?

Soon enough, others recognized it for what it was. The Skyward master took a look and shook his head.

“That’s a fake. It’s just the form with none of the internal spirit. Li Hao is using special methods to recombine it, this isn’t the real time!”

One could see from this that even when one grasped a myriad of daos, those daos couldn’t necessarily be turned into time!

This star was made of daos replicated by Number Two that Li Hao later combined into the star of time. It only looked like the star of time on the surface, there was almost none of the actual power of time in it.

Li Hao was naturally even more aware of the details of the second star. There was only one dao of time. The current star of time still existed, which ensured that the second would not contain the power of time.

He didn’t need this star to be able to reverse time. The young man had other uses in mind for it.

Li Hao’s body broke apart the moment the false star appeared and his blood stretched toward the star, alongside his dao. Endless dao strength surged into it.

The dao meridians within his body, that’d long turned into dao stars, once more reappeared in the form of stars and assimilated into the false star of time. Li Hao also shoved the severed portion of chaos dao into the false star.

The entire star came alive, which was when the ninth ranks realized what Li Hao wanted to do. The young man... wished to simulate the origin of the chaos.

“He wants to create the source of life,” laughed a particularly powerful ninth rank. “And he’s nurturing it with flesh and blood. But he’s barking up the wrong tree. The source of life isn’t created that easily.

“We can create worlds and dao domains, but we cannot create worlds with real life forms in them...”

That was because the source of life originated from the source of the chaos that could be found at the end of chaos dao. That could not be created!

Li Hao was using a fake star of time to gather a myriad daos, then fertilizing it with his flesh and blood. That was how he dreamed that he would turn it into an origin of life.

One had to say, the young man was thinking too simplistically. This kind of source of life... might be useful in the beginning, but it would be obsolete soon enough.

The other powerhouses caught on as well.

“The hell?!” cursed the Human King as he was sent flying by one punch from Chaos Sky. “You’re establishing your chaos when you aren’t fully prepared yet?! Can this thing become a source of life?! Stop messing around. Just establish an empty chaos and finish up by comprehending a myriad daos...”

Do you really want to create a chaos that can give birth to life?!

You’re not really inspiring confidence in me right now, you know??

The rest of the group felt that Li Hao should just stop at creating an empty chaos and comprehend the birth of a myriad daos. Who would’ve thought that the young man’s ambitions would run greater. He wanted to create a real chaos, one with a source of life!

Actually creating life beneath the heavens... wasn’t that nonsense?!

Li Hao ignored the Human King’s yelling. If even the great dao could create living beings and a dao spirit, then why couldn’t there be an origin of chaos?

Life existed because of spirit and intelligence!

When the great dao within the star contained spirit and intelligence, it would naturally evolve into a source of life. Granted, it would be a very difficult accomplishment.

Li Hao took advantage of Long Zhan’s preoccupation to study the second star in detail. It was just as the others said, although there was some faint spirit within it, it was almost impossible for that to evolve into an origin of life.

The young man took a deep breath and suddenly stabbed his hand into his chest, slowly digging out a blood heart. The heart was still beating.

“Being someone without a heart is just as well,” Li Hao said softly. “At my level... there should be a lot of life and spirit within my heart, no? If I incorporate it into the star, it should be able to serve as the source of life for a while, right?”

“......” Those fighting all over the battlefield couldn’t help but stare at Li Hao. Long Zhan flung back the shadow with a mighty blow and looked sternly at the young man.

Li Hao had gone completely crazy.
