Chapter 115 | What The Hell Are You!?
Chapter 115: 115 | What The Hell Are You!?
Andrew vanished.
One moment he was standing twenty meters away, and the next he was simply gone, leaving behind only an afterimage burned into the air, a ghost of purple light that faded like smoke.
Gerald’s instincts rung and his body moved on autopilot, trained by decades of killing to react before the mind could process.
His scythe spun to his right, bringing the blade up in a sweeping arc, and there was Andrew, materializing from nothingness with his own blade already in motion.
The blade’s edge swept toward Gerald’s neck.
Gerald’s quickly blocked the attack ass steel collided with steel.
"BANG!"
Sparks erupted like fire works as a massive shockwave exploded from the point of collision.
A wall of compressed force ripped outward in every direction like a bomb going off.
The ground beneath their feet split apart, chunks of earth and stone launching into the air like shrapnel from a grenade.
Trees within thirty meters bent backward, their trunks groaning, and even some roots tore free from the soil.
The shockwave expanded outward in a perfect sphere of destruction, and everything in its path was thrown.
Michael, Jasmine and Lucy were sent staggering backwards with insane force.
A massive crater stood at the center of the impact and at the center of it all, two figures stood locked in combat, their blades grinding against each other with a sound like tearing metal.
As shockwaves constantly exploded from their point of impact, sending things around them flying rapidly and constantly.
"Ding!" "Ding!" "Ding!"
Andrew was holding his ground.
Jasmine eyes was wide, her mouth open. She stared at the scene before her, and her brain simply refused to process what it was seeing.
"What the hell," she breathed. "What the hell is happening?"
Michael’s face was a mask of disbelief. "He’s... he’s fighting him. He’s actually fighting him."
"How?" Lucy’s voice was barely a whisper as her eyes fixed on the two combatants. "How is this possible? He’s Level 10. He shouldn’t have been able to take an single attack."
But Andrew was not just surviving. He was trading blows with a level 35 assassin, and he was not losing.
He had closed a gap of twenty-five levels. The distance between Level 10 and Level 35 was supposed to be impossible to bridge and yet, Andrew was here doing exactly that!
A Level 10 fighting a Level 35 was not a fight. It was a suicide. And yet here they were, blades locked, feet planted, neither one giving ground.
At first, they thought it was a fluke. A temporary surge of power that would collapse at any moment.
"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"
But as the exchange continued, as strike met block and block met counter and the two of them moved through their patterns at speeds that blurred the air, they immediately knew it wasn’t luck.
Andrew flashed again, reappearing behind Gerald. The assassin spun to react, his scythe arcing around in a horizontal slash.
But before he could actually move, an invisible force slammed into his body from nowhere.
It was like being dropped into the bottom of the ocean.
His movements became sluggish, as though the gravity around him had tripled in an instant. His weapon arm, which should have been a blur, crawled through the air like it was moving through wet concrete.
"What..." Gerald grunted through clenched teeth. "It increased?"
Andrew sacrificed half of the gravitational force lighting his body and pressed the full force against Gerald instead.
The invisible weight pressed down on Gerald from every direction, dragging at his speed, dulling his reflexes.
Gerald block slowed down and in that window of vulnerability, Andrew struck.
The blow came from below. Andrew dropped low, slipping under the slowed scythe arc, and drove his blade upward toward Gerald’s chest with insane force.
The strike was precise, angled to slip between the ribs and find the heart.
Gerald barely managed to wrench his body sideways, the blade scoring a line across his chest instead of punching through it. Blood sprayed as the sword cut him instead of stabbing through his chest.
If was superficial but he had actually managed to injure a level 35 assassin.
Gerald’s face contorted. His expression cycled through shock, fury, and pure hatred.
"You fucking Imp!"
He roared as he stopped holding back and erupted with his entire strength.
"Whoosh!"
The wind screeched as the scythe tore through space, tearing the edge of reality and actually moved twice as fast as before.
Andrew’s face hardened and he immediately activated Mist Transformation.
"Bang!"
His body exploded into a mist as the blade struck empty air.
Andrew didn’t reform behind Gerald this time but appeared in the sky above him instead.
"Crackle!"
Suddenly, a blip of purple lightning split the clouds, descending like an angry god delivering judgment from the heavens.
The air itself recoiled from his presence, bending outward in a visible shockwave of displaced atmosphere.
The light was blinding, a column of violet radiance that connected earth to sky like a pillar of divine wrath.
Gerald looked up, and his blood went cold.
It was not the speed that frightened him. It was not the power. It was the pressure.
"Chos God Blood Authority!"
A force unlike anything the gravitational field had produced slammed against Gerald like an entire world weighing on his shoulders!
It was not weight. This was authority.
A presence that whispered to every cell in his body to kneel, to yield, to submit! He tried to move but his muscles refused to cooperate. It was something deep within his body, his genes, his bloodline that’s didn’t dare defy against that attack.
His instincts screamed to block that strike, but his body wanted to surrender and let the blade slice him in half!
It was as if the universe itself was telling him that the thing descending from the sky was above him. Beyond him. Greater than him and he should let it do what it wanted even if it wanted his life!
"What the hell are you!?" Gerald hissed through gritted teeth.
His eyes turned cruel and he immediately bit his tongue hard as blood poured in his mouth.
Pain cut through the pressure like a knife, and he channeled every ounce of willpower he possessed into defying that crushing authority.
He was finally able to move as he poured everything he had into a single overhead block.
The strike descended.
"KA-BOOOOM!"
