"KA-BOOOOM!"

The ground beneath Gerald’s feet didn’t crack, it shattered into smithereens!

A crater bloomed outward like a flower of destruction, ten meters across, the earth pulverized to powder and thrown into the air in a fountain of debris.

The shockwave from the impact flattened everything within fifty meters, trees snapping at their bases, rocks splitting, the very soil being scoured from the ground.

Gerald’s legs buckled. His arms shook. His scythe groaned under the pressure, the metal bending, hairline fractures spreading across the blade. A diamond rank weapon against a legendary weapon, it was bound to happen!

"Whoosh!"

Dust filled the air like fog. The crater smoked, thin wisps of vapor rising from the superheated edges where Andrew’s lightning blade had struck.

Gerald stood at the bottom of the depression, his boots buried in pulverized stone as he glared at Andrew who was above him in fury.

Jasmine, Michael, and Lucy watched from the edge of the battlefield, their faces masks of astonishment.

Andrew was a freak. There was no other word for it. The boy who was supposed to be their responsibility, was something else entirely.

But they didn’t let the shock paralyze them.

Jasmine’s eyes hardened. She looked at Michael, then at Lucy. A silent message passed between them. They knew what they had to do. Andrew had given them an opening, and they were going to use it.

"Go!" Jasmine shouted.

They moved as one.

"Earth splitting axe!"

Jasmine activated her strongest skill and struck from the left, her Axe wreathed in a shimmering aura of crimson energy.

"Triple Back stab!"

Lucy came from behind, her movements fast and deadly as her daggers flashed in the dusty light.

Michael descended from above as the air compressed around him.

Four fighters converging on a single target from four directions.

"Whoosh!" "Bam!" "Ding!" "Bam!"

He managed to dodge Jasmine axe strike by a hair’s breadth as the ground split into two.

He raised his fist as he punched out at Michael’s attack, sending him staggering backward.

Gerald growled and aura exploded out of him, forming an energy shield behind him to block Lucy’s Triple Back stab attack and then focused on the most dangerous attack of them all.

"Ding!"

His scythe turned into an arc in the air as it collided against a blade just half an inch away from his neck.

Just a bit more and his neck would have been severed by Andrew!

The coordinated gave Gerald no room to breathe, no space to think, no opportunity to counter and he was actually been suppressed by a bunch of brats.

Gerald’s patience snapped like a dry twig.

"Get the fuck off me!"

"RUMBLE!!!"

He roared, and blazing energy erupted out of him like a physical wall of energy.

Aura, energy and will coagulated behind him and formed into a miniature moon of congealed blood-energy that pulsed with malevolent light.

It was beautiful but incredibly horrifying at the same time, the color of arterial blood lit from within, and a shockwave expanded outward that hit all four of them at once.

"Bang!"

The force was immense. Andrew managed to keep his feet, sliding backward with his blade buried in the earth for traction, his muscles straining against the crimson tide.

The others were not so lucky. Jasmine, Michael, and Lucy were picked up and thrown like leaves in a hurricane, their bodies tumbling through the air before crashing to the ground in various states of disarray.

The Blood Moon technique bought Gerald space. He stood at the center of the clearing, chest heaving, his crimson eyes scanning the battlefield for his opponents as the air around him changed.

Mist began to rise from Gerald’s body.

A bloody aura that clung to his skin like a second layer, writhing and pulsing with a life of its own.

Crimson veins bulged across his chest, his arms, his neck, his face, spreading across his flesh in branching patterns like the roots of some demonic tree.

His eyes became two pools of liquid ruby, depthless and alien, and his grin returned as it widened to an inhuman width like a demon.

The temperature dropped, and yet the air felt thicker, hotter, like standing in the exhaust of a furnace. Every living thing within a hundred meters felt the primal, instinctive urge to run.

Gerald looked at the four of them. Andrew, standing alone in the center. Jasmine, Michael, and Lucy, scattered around him. He grinned at all of them with those ruby eyes.

"You’ve had your fun, now I think it’s fair I play with you guys. Right?"

His voice was layered now, carrying an echo that didn’t come from any human throat. Like he had been possessed by a demon.

Andrew didn’t answer but stared seriously at Gerald. The technique he released right now was making his danger sense tingle and the hair at the back of his neck to rise.

Suddenly, Gerald vanished as though he teleported, he actually appeared before all four of them instantly.

It was as though he had transformed into four people as he struck the four of them.

He appeared before Jasmine, punching directly her chest instantly. Her eyes hadn’t even focused to the fact that Gerald had disappeared when her body screamed danger.

She managed to bring her axe upwards but a blue appeared before her, picking the axe right into her chest as she was sent flying.

The one before Lucy struck out its scythe directly into her gut.

Lucy wasn’t able react as the blade dug deep into her like her uncle did.

"Pfft!"

She spat out blood as she collapsed to the ground.

"Lucy!"

Michael roared but he wasn’t able to get to her as there was another Gerald right before him.

"Guardian Fortress!"

A golden barrier appeared before him.

However, Gerald’s scythe shattered it like it was made of paper as it stabbed directly into Michael’s heart.

Michael managed to shift his body in that split second, making the blade stab through his runs instead.

Blood spurted out in the air as he was badly wounded.
