Chapter 114: 114 | Enough!

"Enough."

Andrew’s voice cut through the tension like a blade through silk.

Everyone froze.

Jasmine stopped mid-step. Michael’s hands, already raised in a defensive stance, went rigid. Lucy’s mouth fell open.

And Gerald himself paused.

The assassin stood thirty meters away, his crimson eyes glowing faintly in the filtered light of the forest canopy.

Andrew suddenly stepped forward. He slowly moved past Jasmine, Michael and Lucy without looking at them.

The group had been intimidated by Gerald’s overwhelming presence, barely holding their ground. And now Andrew, the person they were supposed to protect, was walking toward the danger.

"You want me, right?" Andrew said. His voice was eerily calm for a boy of 15 standing before a man who could unmake him with a flick of his wrist.

"All right. Come get me."

Gerald’s brow furrowed. It was the first time his expression had cracked since he entered the dimensional zone.

True confusion bled through the mask of cold indifference. He studied Andrew with his eyes.

Was the boy mad?

Was this some desperate ploy, a distraction, a trick?

Jasmine’s face drained of color. She lunged forward half a step, her hand shooting out to grab Andrew’s shoulder.

"Andrew, what are you doing?" Her voice cracked. "Do you want to die? He’s stronger than all of us combined! If you go right now, you will die."

Andrew didn’t turn around. He didn’t slow down. He just shook his head.

"Don’t worry," he said. "I’ll handle this."

And he kept walking forwards

"System, upgrade Berserk (Earth Grade) skill to Cosmic Grade."

As through the system knew the severity of the situation, it didn’t ask any unnecessary questions and simply upgraded the skill to Cosmic grade!

Twenty meters. Fifteen. Ten.

The air between them grew dense and heavy.

Gerald watched the boy close the distance, his frown deepening with every step.

At first, he assumed Andrew had a plan. Some hidden technique, some trick up his sleeve.

But under the face of absolute power, planning meant nothing.

Strategy was the luxury of equals, and there were no equals here.

Gerald was Level 35 Ultra with the Assassin Class. And this boy was Level 10, a child playing at being a warrior.

So Gerald waited, allowing the boy to approach, if only to witness the exact moment his courage shattered.

Five meters.

The hairs on the back of Gerald’s neck stood on end.

It was subtle at first, a prickling along his spine. But then increased as Andrew got closer.

But then the thought caught up with the instinct, and the thought was offended.

He was an Ultra. He was an assassin who had bathed in the blood of men far stronger than this boy. The thought of flinching before a child, not even seventeen years old, barely past the threshold of adolescence, was repulsive.

So he didn’t move. He simply stood, and he grinned.

"All right," Gerald said, his voice a low rasp that carried across the clearing like smoke. "Let’s see what you’ve got. Let’s see what your plan is."

Suddenly, his face changed as the grin died on his lips like a candle flame snuffed by wind.

"Asura’s Wrath!"

"Hypersonic Flight!"

"Gravity Manipulation!"

Andrew’s face suddenly covered in crimson veins as his eyes turned bloody red.

At the same time, his combat suit suddenly hummed with energy as hundreds of mini thrusters appeared on his feet, behind his legs and on his back as they propelled him forward like a bullet.

The gravity force around him reduced by more than half at that moment.

"Whoosh!"

Andrew vanished and blurred towards Gerald like a ghost.

Nop, he didn’t just blur, he appeared right before Gerald like he had teleported, his fist expanding in Gerald’s vision with impossible speed, the knuckles swelling until they filled his entire field of sight.

His reaction speed activated, and he wanted to block the fist attack with his fist but as he raised his hand, he realized his level 35 agility was actually too slow!

"Bang!"

The ground beneath his feet shattered and cracked as a massive gravitational force collided against him like two heavy mountains threatening to crush him underneath them.

"What the fuck—?"

He wasn’t able to finish his words when Andrew’s fist close the distance in slow motion, and for the first time in years, Gerald’s body could not keep up with his mind.

"Bang!"

The fist connected with his stomach.

The impact exploded through Gerald’s abdomen with the force a cannonball delivered through a human fist.

His internal organs compressed and his ribs groaned as his feet left the ground.

His body rocketing backward like a stone from a sling.

"Crack!"

The air where Gerald had been standing cracked. A vacuum bubble collapsed behind his retreating body, producing a bang that echoed through the forest like a second impact.

Birds fled from trees a mile away. The ground beneath the point of impact cratered, a perfect circle of pulverized earth and shattered stone.

He was blasted 20 meters before he managed to recover his momentum, digging his heels into the dirt as he came to a stop.

Gerald wrapped one arm around his stomach and his eyes went wide with disbelief.

"What the fuck are you?"

Andrew didn’t answer.

He stood where Gerald had been a moment ago, fist still extended, steam curling off his knuckles in thin wisps. The air around his hand shimmered with residual heat.

"Don’t you want to fight?" Andrew cocked his head indifferently. "All right. Let’s fight."

Gerald’s face hardened as his mind raced.

The boy had speed, clearly. Speed that shouldn’t exist at Level 10.

Moreover, what was this gravity force pressing him down? Was it his talent?

Gerald shook his head internally. He had been given every information about Andrew before the mission and he knew that Andrew’s talent wasn’t gravity but a useless skill but suitable for combat.

He guessed that Andrew was probably using some sort of treasure to increase’s strength and use gravity to slow him down.

Before Gerald could draw breath to respond, Andrew vanished.
