SSS-Rank Awakening: My Talent Multiplies Everything
Chapter 291: The Truth Of The Cosmos.
Several minutes later, Kael could be seen walking out of his mother’s room.
After spending so long talking with her and finally getting the chance to embrace her again after years of unconsciousness, it was time to deal with the other matters waiting for him. For now, he would leave Lyra to keep their mother company. His sister had spent years taking care of her, and after everything she had endured, she deserved to enjoy this moment without having to worry about anything else.
Kael gently closed the door behind him.
The moment he turned around, the shadow beneath his feet stirred. Its surface rippled, and a figure slowly emerged from within it.
It was Varek.
He straightened his clothes before falling into step beside his master. He’d slipped into the shadows earlier, just as Kael’s mother was about to awaken, most likely to give the two siblings some privacy, letting them spend that moment with their mother without feeling watched.
Kael glanced at him but didn’t comment on it.
"Alright, let’s go deal with Ezra’s situation."
Varek bowed his head slightly, and the two began walking down the corridor toward the room where Ezra was resting.
Along the way, Kael decided to explain the item they would be using.
"The item is called the Mindbloom Lotus Seed. According to the merchant who sold it to me, it can be planted directly into Ezra’s Mind World. Once it takes root, it will nourish her soul and spirit, gradually healing the damage they’ve suffered. It should also strengthen them in the process."
Varek listened attentively, his expression thoughtful.
"That’s quite a good item. If it can heal damage to both the soul and spirit while strengthening them at the same time, then its value is certainly justified. It seems Master managed to get his hands on quite a few good things this time."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"That merchant you met, however, cannot be someone simple."
Kael nodded.
"Yeah. He did say he was a God or something along those lines."
Varek’s expression didn’t change much, but his eyes narrowed slightly in thought.
"He could very well be one. In fact, considering what you’ve told me about him and the items he possesses, I suspect his origins may be even more extraordinary. I believe he is a being capable of traveling between different realities without restriction. That would explain how he has managed to acquire such a vast collection of powerful and exceedingly rare treasures."
Kael wasn’t particularly surprised by that possibility. After all, the merchant had casually produced items worth hundreds of millions of Tower Coins, and even those seemed to be nothing particularly special to him.
Still, Varek wasn’t finished.
"Of course, the Tower itself is no less mysterious. I suspect it was constructed by an existence that stands at least above reality. That would explain how it can gather people from different realities and bring them together within a single structure."
Kael’s steps slowed slightly.
"Above reality? What’s that supposed to mean?"
Varek turned his head toward him.
"It’s a term used to describe individuals who exist beyond the rules and concepts that govern reality itself. Such beings aren’t bound by the limitations that ordinary existences must obey. They can travel between realities and, depending on their level of power, even destroy an entire reality at will."
He spoke about it in a matter-of-fact tone, as though discussing something perfectly ordinary.
"Of course, even beings of that level aren’t entirely unrestricted. They are still subject to the Great Rule."
Kael stared at him for a moment.
That sounds overpowered.
The thought came naturally. The idea of an existence capable of moving between realities as easily as someone walking from one room to another was already difficult enough to comprehend, let alone one that could destroy an entire reality altogether.
But as he considered Varek’s words, another thought suddenly crossed his mind.
Wait. Could Athom be an existence of the same level?
Kael remembered the terrifying power he had witnessed during Athom’s battle with the Supreme Being. The devastation caused by their clash had stretched across an incomprehensible scale, twisting and destroying what appeared to be countless galaxies and star systems.
At the time, the sheer magnitude of that battle had been enough to leave him stunned.
Now, after hearing Varek’s explanation, he couldn’t help reconsidering what he had witnessed.
If beings above reality could destroy entire realities, then the destruction he had seen might not have been the full extent of their power. Perhaps the battlefield itself had been only a small part of something much greater.
Kael’s expression grew thoughtful, and he slowed to a stop.
"By the way, Varek, does a reality mean something like a universe?"
Given Kael’s current understanding of the cosmos, a universe was the largest structure he could reasonably use as a reference point. He knew about planets, solar systems, galaxies, and the vast stretches of space separating them. Beyond that, his knowledge was limited.
If a reality was a plane of existence governed by its own complete set of rules, then the closest thing he could compare it to was a universe.
Varek considered the question before answering.
"Not necessarily. Realities come in different sizes. The smallest one I’ve encountered was roughly the size of a planet, or perhaps a single realm, depending on how you define it. However, there are also realities that encompass numerous universes and far more than that."
Kael stopped walking entirely.
"Numerous universes?"
"Yes."
Varek answered without hesitation, seemingly unaware of how much his words had just expanded his master’s understanding of existence.
"Some realities are small and limited, while others contain structures so vast that comparing them to a single universe would be meaningless. The rules governing each reality can also differ. What is possible in one may be impossible in another."
