SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God
Chapter 783: A treasureland
Without holding anything back, Damon unleashed a powerful tidal wave of his poisonous blood, the crimson surge expanding outward like a living ocean that swallowed everything in its path. Blood rain poured from the skies as the two characters shifted their attention to him.
"What potent poison! Amitaba!" the monk gasped in genuine shock, though his body did not retreat even a single step. His palms came together instantly, fingers aligning with practiced precision as his lips moved in a low, rhythmic chant.
A faint golden light began to bloom around him. The moment the poisonous blood rain touched that light, it hissed violently and then vanished. There was no trace of the poison left.
"It is my duty to cleanse all things evil." The monk smiled casually.
At the same time, Kelvin moved. One by one, seven round orbs appeared around him, each one blindingly radiant like a miniature sun. They did not simply glow, they burned, radiating an oppressive heat that pushed back against the crimson rain, carving out a domain of pure, searing heat wherever they hovered.
Damon’s eyes narrowed slightly. Those were not ordinary constructs. Each orb pulsed with terrifying density, their surfaces shimmering with layers of compressed energy so refined that even the poison-laden blood instinctively recoiled upon contact.
Kelvin exhaled softly, almost bored, as his fingers moved in a subtle pattern. The seven orbs responded instantly. They began to rotate. They were slow at first, the became faster and then became impossibly fast.
The air around him warped violently as the orbs accelerated, their combined presence forming a spiraling field of destructive energy that shredded anything that came close. The blood rain that Damon had unleashed did not simply get pushed aside, it was annihilated, torn apart particle by particle before it could even touch Kelvin’s body.
"Poison?" Kelvin said calmly, his voice cutting through the chaos with effortless clarity. "Effective... against the weak and used by the weak." He harrumphed as he dashed forward, a new orb forming in his hand. "...and I am neither," Kelvin finished coldly, the newly formed orb in his hand blazing with a brilliance that dwarfed the others circling around him.
The orb in his palm elongated as he thrust it ahead, stretching into a spear of condensed energy that burned so intensely that even the surrounding space seemed to bend away from it. The poisonous blood in Damon’s path did not resist, nor did it struggle, it simply ceased to exist wherever the spear passed.
Damon’s eyes sharpened. At the same time, the crimson tide around him compressed violently, the endless rain collapsing inward into dense, spiraling streams that coiled around his body like serpents.
"A spear attack, huh..." Another spear appeared in Damon’s hand. A blood spear at first glance, but lightning crackled around it. Traces of pitch-black darkness coiled along its length, dancing like shadows. As if this wasn’t enough, as the spear shot forward, a fiery gleam appeared around it, instantly making the attack ten times more deadly.
Kelvin’s eyes gleamed in shock as he watched the attack. He couldn’t sense even a tiny bit of dad energy in the attack and yet the destructive force it carried was unimaginable.
The two spears collided and a massive explosion erupted. The cracked plains beneath them disintegrated completely, reduced to dust and fragments as the shockwave expanded in all directions, ripping through the already dying world.
Shockingly the elven prince was thrown back while Damon stood unaffected. However, the monk also remained unfazed. The glow around him was brighter now but other than that there was no other change. He stood completely relaxed. His gaze landed on Damon and he smiled in a knowing manner.
"You are an anomaly, aren’t you? How is your mind still intact? Praise the benevolent God. Amitabah! You are a blessed one! You have the corruption within you, and you are still not consumed by it. Say, what do you think about joining our temple?"
Even as he said those words, Damon felt his mind buzz a little. Suddenly, Damon felt his body become lighter. The world around him disappeared, and a blinding golden glow assaulted him from all sides.
He was standing in a temple.
It was a vast place. The floor beneath his feet was smooth and immaculate, reflecting his figure with unsettling clarity. Golden pillars rose into a sky that did not exist, their surfaces etched with scriptures.
Damon did not know why, but those scriptures in particular were burning into his eyes. It was as if he understood them, but at the same time had no clue what they meant.
Maybe if he stared at it a bit more, he would understand. If he could just study them for a little bit, he could gain something monumental. If he could somehow stay here and study these for a lifetime, then without a doubt, he could even become a God!
It was just a stray thought, but the thought lingered. It became stronger every second. The thought did not feel like temptation. It felt like inevitability.
If he stayed... if he simply allowed himself to remain within this place, to observe, to absorb, to understand, then everything he had struggled for would fall into place with effortless clarity. He would finally be strong enough to protect everyone he loved. He wouldn’t have to run and hide anymore. He wouldn’t have to constantly look over his back and plan for the future anymore. He could simply exist.
Damon’s gaze lingered on the scriptures, his pupils reflecting their patterns as if they were imprinting themselves directly onto his mind. The symbols no longer appeared chaotic. They were aligning, forming sequences that felt vast, profound, almost complete.
A lifetime here. The idea did not seem long. It seemed... insufficient. Perhaps even a lifetime would not be enough to fully grasp what was being offered.
The golden light softened further, wrapping around him like something warm and protective, dulling the distant echo of battle, dulling the urgency, dulling everything that did not belong to this place.
