SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God
Chapter 784: Red and Gold
A gentle and kind voice resounded in Damon’s mind. "The path you have been forcing yourself to walk is flawed. You do not need to struggle like this. You do not need to tear yourself apart to grow."
"Stay," the voice continued. "Learn. Understand. Become what you were meant to be." It was not his mother’s voice, but it was very similar and definitely this voice cared more about him than his mother ever did.
This person would never lead him astray!
In fact, there was no point in thinking about any of these. Only the scripture mattered. If he could somehow understand every inch of the scripture, study them down to their last detail...
Wait. What the hell was going on? Damon snapped his eyes open. "Fuck."
"Amitabah! Your mind is impressive." The monk’s face suddenly appeared in front of Damon. In fact, all he could see was the monk and only the monk. As he looked at his face, once again he found himself standing in the temple and staring at the golden scriptures.
This time, he even managed to understand them at a superficial level. He had incredible talent at this. He had unlocked something profound and ancient. Many things clicked in his brain, and suddenly a low chant started echoing in his mind.
A golden wisp of energy shot forward towards his body, and before he could react, it entered his body and dispersed. The sudden wisp of energy made him feel unsettled, but at the same time, he suddenly felt as if he could understand the scriptures better.
There was no point in worrying about unnecessary things. Only the scriptures mattered. He needed to completely immerse himself...
BOOM! Damon snapped out of his trance as his body flew back, but before long, a hand of blood caught him. Two of his blood avatars stood steadily by his side. Blood enveloped him completely, preventing any more trips back to the same temple.
Tch. Damon grimaced. He had never thought it would come to this. A while back he had instructed his avatar to attack him if he was ever in a trance state in the middle of a battle. It was just a precaution. To think that he would actually use that here... these two were truly powerful.
"An avataram! Amitabah!" The monk exclaimed in shock. He was about to say something else, but Damon could no longer afford to pay attention to him. It looked like the elf had no plans of staying still, letting the other one fight the battle for him.
The elven prince shot forward as a beam of golden light across the battlefield, tearing through the poisoned air and cleaving a path straight toward Damon with ruthless precision. The remnants of Damon’s blood aura hissed and parted instantly, unable to withstand the sheer intensity of the condensed energy.
Damon’s eyes sharpened. There was no time to think. While these guys still underestimated him, he needed to deal a finishing blow. He churned his dao core and prepared a blood spear.
The spear looked extremely simple and plain. It did not glow with overwhelming power. There was no crackling lightning, no writhing darkness, no blazing fire layered over it to announce its danger. It was quiet, unnaturally so, as if all the chaos he had been forcing together had suddenly vanished.
Damon shot forward with only this simple spear in hand. The red beam clashed with the golden beam and shockingly the two sides were matched as equals, neither side yielding even a fraction of ground.
Kelvin’s eyes reddened in anger. The elf clearly did not like the fact that Damon was able to handle him. He gritted his teeth and clashed again.
The golden beam clashed with the red beam again and again.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Massive explosions rang out across the world sending powerful shockwaves in all directions, wrecking whatever spatial integrity was remaining. The world was on the verge of complete annihilation.
But every single time the two of them were only equally matched. The elven prince couldn’t get an upper hand no matter how much he tried.
On the other side, Damon pushed himself to his absolute limit. He was giving everything he had and was wringing dry his body but he did not care. He had never fought like this before. His entire body was pumping with power and excitement. He wanted to keep going and going. He could see the barrier to the next stage. He wanted to break through it.
No. He wanted to obliterate it and take all the power that lay beyond.
However, he controlled himself. This was not the time or place to let loose. Not yet. He needed to be careful here.
"Blood Reign, are you ready?"
"Yes, my liege. I am. But are you sure?"
"Mmm. I am sure of it. I did not notice it at first. But now I am very sure of it. Ten legendary items! This elf alone has ten legendary items equipped on him! There is also his sword. I cannot tell what power level it is. It should be something beyond legendary."
Blood Reign was shocked. A weapon beyond legendary power?! Her heart raced. As a weapon spirit, her soul yearned to become stronger than that sword.
"They might also have other tricks up their sleeves. If we continue fighting with them like this without any plan, we will only end up losing. No. We need to do this now. Its now or never."
"I understand, my liege. I am ready."
Damon then asked the party he needed confirmation from. "Don’t say something now and then go back on your word later on. Can I trust you?"
The snake woman’s cold voice sounded in his mind. "My word is my oath. I will face eternal slumber before I break it. You can rest assured. I cannot guarantee that I will completely block it for you but I can very well do what you have asked me to do. There should be no problem."
Damon nodded. Everything was in place now. It was time to act. Would he really be able to escape from these two powerhouses while stealing something invaluable right from under their noses?
There was no way to know. He had to actually do it and find out.
"Fuck it. Let’s all die bastards. Let’s die together!" Damon let out a maniacal laugh as he took out a vial from his storage space. It was not an ordinary vial. It was one of the poisons La Rocha had given him, a poison strong enough to take out an A rank.
Poison was for the weak, huh? Damon’s cold gaze landed on the elven prince. "Eat this fucker." The next second, the vial shattered in his grip. The wisp of silver tendril that was inside before was now no longer there.
For a split second nothing happened. There was no dramatic buildup, no radiant glow, and no warning for anyone watching. There was no big explosion. In fact, there was nothing at all. It was as if nothing had happened at all.
But the elf’s face changed immediately. It looked like he could tell that something was wrong. On the other side, the monk realized it too. However, the two of them were already too late.
Silver runes started appearing all over their body.
