Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station
Chapter 1343: Plane Nightmare
“Weakness? Where?”
The Survivor responded, “Since you have already acquired this Communication Device, it means you have fought with the Plane Nightmare and found our spaceship.”
“Its weakness is located at the position where you discovered the ship, near the part of the body adjacent to the Plane Nightmare and Black Hole.”
“That is its weakness; destroy this part of the body, and you will be able to kill it.”
Just so happens, Chen Ming had carefully observed the appearance of the Plane Nightmare earlier and was able to construct its image in his mind.
Of course, he could also mark the position of the Shimmering Civilization’s spaceship on the body of the Plane Nightmare model in his mind.
This place, connecting with the Black Hole, can be considered the coarsest part on the body of the Plane Nightmare.
Looking at it does not particularly incite an urge to attack, coupled with the deterrence close to the Black Hole itself, so previously Chen Ming did not consider it a weakness.
He also does not think the Survivor would lie to him with such easily verifiable sincerity.
So basically, it’s believable that this is the weakness of the Plane Nightmare.
Didn’t expect that the seemingly most robust body is actually its most fragile part.
“I understand, let me attempt it, and I’ll contact you afterward.”
Chen Ming was about to end the communication when another message came through the Communication Device: “Wait a moment.”
“We’ve already revealed our existence, can you tell us what kind of existence you are?”
“We want to know the difference between your civilization and our Shimmering, not too detailed, just a basic understanding is sufficient.”
Chen Ming thought briefly about whether there are any nouns or adjectives in Shimmering Civilization’s language that could describe the Empire.
“We are a nation, or rather a civilization, where ‘humanity’ is the predominant species in a democratic system; you can call us the Human Empire.”
“When developing relics belonging to your civilization, we learned that you are an imperial civilization, you should understand what I mean.”
Over the past six months, to learn the language of the Shimmering Civilization, Chen Ming also visited the Shimmering Civilization Research Institute, naturally acquiring some related knowledge.
Especially the knowledge that the Shimmering Civilization is surprisingly imperial left a deep impression on him.
After all, it indeed is somewhat challenging.
Because the Shimmering Civilization claims to be Shimmering, not the Shimmering Empire.
While on the human side, despite having a unique democratic system with concentrated military power, they claim to be an Empire.
This contrasting comparison is hard not to leave a deep impression.
The Survivor seemed not to notice this point and quickly responded, “Yes, we can understand.”
“How about you then? What kind of existence are you within your civilization, and what is your relationship with the Human Empire?”
Chen Ming considered for a moment and said, “That question is something I would like to ask you.”
“We are just a group of hundreds of survivors with only very basic social relations, and I’m merely someone with a bit of social ability, so I’m here communicating with you.”
In the Survivor’s response, ‘person’ refers to the species of the Shimmering Civilization, which Chen Ming just directly translated for easier understanding.
After noting their response, Chen Ming similarly responded to this question, “I am one of the top Psychics in the Human Empire.”
“As for the relationship with the Empire, it’s considered a friendly cooperative relationship.”
“Cooperative relationship?”
Shimmering, as an imperial civilization, seemed a bit unable to understand exactly what the situation of the Empire is.
“A democratic civilization is relatively lenient in certain aspects of management, and not all Psychics are required to serve the ruling class.”
The Survivor seemed a bit unable to accept this situation, as the downsides of releasing Psychics are apparent.
“In our place, Psychics can be synonymous with the ruling class. Our Emperor is the most powerful Psychic, and only the most powerful Psychic can suppress other Psychics from making mistakes.”
Chen Ming asked, “Aren’t you afraid that the Emperor’s capability is insufficient? Morally unfit?”
The Survivor again said, “Each powerful Psychic’s learning ability far surpasses any ordinary person, and the ability of a Psychic who becomes an Emperor definitely matches their position.”
“Moral issues are certainly not shackles that restrict His Majesty.”
Chen Ming was not interested in debating ideology and politics with them, so he directly threw out a question he thought might be somewhat interesting.
“Do you have an Emperor in your small group of hundreds?”
There was silence at the other end of the Communication Device.
The silence lasted for quite some time, clearly stumped by Chen Ming’s question.
A Shimmering Civilization’s Emperor indeed deserves respect, no matter what kind of person they are; as long as they can maintain the Shimmering Civilization with their means and power, they are a capable person, at least beyond reproach in capability.
However, the Survivor’s spoken phrase of an Emperor in a small group of hundreds is simply a colossal joke.
Chen Ming was essentially pointing at their nose and scolding them.
Regardless of whether they have an Emperor, it’s a rather laughable situation.
Having one is a joke.
Not having one means abandoning your own system, disqualifying you from criticizing the political system of the Empire to which Chen Ming belongs.
The Survivors also understood this, so they conceded, “We’re very sorry, we were abrupt and offended your system.”
