Chapter 1217: Ch 1217: Elena in the Shadows

While everyone else protected Tatsumi who had fainted, Shin alone went to search this last area to find that mirror. Without finding it, all their hard work would be in vain.

That was why, even though staying here was dangerous, Shin had to do it. And the faster he could find the mirror, the better it would be.

That was why, Shin was doing this absolute best and immediately summoned a trump card star soul of his. This star soul was very special, and after summoning it once, he would not be able to summon it again for three whole days.

But in order to finish finding the mirror as soon as possible, Shin thought that what he was doing was perfectly justified. So a small white owl appeared on his hand.

Even though this owl star soul had a very long cooldown, it was not capable of fighting at all and was only as strong as a small chick. But still, there was a reason why it was considered as a trump card.

And the reason was an ability that this star soul had. This ability had a simple name of "Area Analysis". But what this ability was able to do was quite broken.

Just as the name suggested, with this ability, the white owl was able to scan one whole region and immediately found out what it was, what kind of structure it had and about the items which could be found in this place. So for any explorers, this owl was an absolute cheat code.

There were some limitations attached to this ability like how it was impossible to scan a very well hidden or barrier covered specially protected area. But that kind of area was very rare and Shin was sure that this treasure vault had nothing like that.

As the owl used area analysis, the map of this whole place appeared in Shin’s mind. Then without caring about the random information, the thing he searched first was about the location of the mirror that he needed.

And fortunately, it was located in this last floor and was not too far away from him. But if he was searching for it normally, it would have taken a lot of time as this thing was hidden inside a secret safe.

So Shin was glad that he had used the ability of the owl and was not being stingy. Then he quickly broke the safe open, took the mirror out and immediately returned back to where his teammates were.

And after Shin sucessfully returned with the mirror to them, everyone else did not bother wasting any time and get out of this place using the route that they had taken to get in.

And instead of doing that, Raphaela used a teleportation magic crystal that would wrap all of them back to the city from where they had taken this mission.

So just like that, as the light of the teleportation faded away, this underground place became empty once more expect for the black lich who was still trapped inside the fractured dimension. Or most people would think this was the case.

But the actual situation was a little different. As everyone was gone, suddenly a gorgeous golden haired beauty appeared here. She had a happy, proud and enchanting smile on her face.

This lady was obviously none other than Elena. She was extremely satisfied with how everyone had performed and the decisions that they had made. And that was the reason why she was in a very good mood.

And with the same good mood, she turned to look at the lich. Then with a snap of her finger, the fragmented Dimesion disappeared and in it’s place, the same black lich appeared who was now wrapped in a golden chain.

Actually, this lich had managed to break the suppression of the combination spell just a little bit after Shin had started to use the Area Analysis. But at that moment, Elena had stepped forward and had stopped this lich for reappearing.

So for the last few minutes, what everyone was seeing was an illusion that Elena had made. As for the actually Fragmented Dimension, it was long gone.

And the reason for this was not because Tatsumi had not done her best. Instead, the reason was quite sad.

The rank 10 spell that this lich was using, this spell was specially good at getting out of situation like this. And that was the only reason why the lich was able to get out so quickly, way faster than estimated.

Actually, the main reason for this incident was Shin’s luck. Before any boost that it would give him, his luck would also try to create a traumatic danger for him.

And this was exactly a situation like that. If the Lich had came out of the spell supression when Shin was busy, then at least one of his party members definitely would have died, which would have been devestating for him.

And Elena obviously did not want that. That was why she had made sure that everyone returned back with satisfaction in their heart. As for Tatsumi, she would be fine and the experience of casting rank 9 spells when she was only rank 8 would be a great experience for her in the future going forward.

This was not the first time when Elena had done something like this. Just like what she had done after meeting Shin for the first time, she had always been protecting him without him having no idea. Elena was the only reason why all his friends were fine and alive even though his powerful luck was always trying to kill them off.

As for what Elena was going to do with the Lich, she was actually not planning to kill it. That was because this man was really a very intelligent person and just killing him off was a massive waste. So Elena wanted him to work under her.

With this in mind, she gave him his intelligence back. The soul of the magus was asleep inside this lich and Elena simply just wake him up.

It did not take too much for the lich to pledge his loyalty to Elena and after that, she simply sent the lich to her mini world, which was not really mini anymore. Then she also teleported away to congratulate Shin and his team for a mission well done.
