Chapter 1216: Ch 1216: Realm Crossing Casting

As the terrifying aura appeared around the boss, it’s form suddenly started to change. The change was not anything too extreme but it was still very noticeable.

The pure white bone of this lich suddenly started to turn black. And this black was not just a colour change but the representation of the fundamental source of Gravity itself.

After seeing it for a little bit, Tatsumi suddenly whispered -

"Rank 10 spell."

And hearing this, everyone became startled and serious. There reason for this reaction was very obvious.

Even though this lich was a rank 10 powerhouse itself, so far during the battle, it had not used even a single rank 10 spell. It was mostly using rank 9, rank 8 and even a few rank 7 ones.

Because of this reason, everyone present here had speculated that this lich was unable to use any rank 10 spell. That actually made sense.

As this magus had died while he had trying to reach the rank of 10 and had became a mindless undead in the process, it was very much a possibility that he had never been able to develop a rank 10 spell mostly because of a lack of time. This was not something delusional to think about.

But it looked like this assumption was a wrong one and this Magus had developed a rank 10 spell or at least a prototype for it before the ascension. He had truly been a genius and there was no doubt about that.

And this was now a problem for everyone here. Tatsumi was somewhat confident in countering rank 9 spells with her rank 8 strength. But against a rank 10 spell, she had absolutely no confidence at all. But even then, there was no way she was going to give up so easily.

If just a little hopelessness was enough for her to show the white flag of defeat, them she would not have became an adventurer at the first place. But as she really was a part of this team, there was no way she was going to give up so easily.

With this in mind, Tatsumi send a quick prayer to Elena and got ready. She was going to do something that she had never done before. And what she was going to do was called realm crossing casting.

This was something that a decent lower rank Magus were capable of doing. For a rank 2 magus casting a rank 3 spell was definitely hard but not impossible.

On the other hand, after the rank of 6, realm crossing casting was was considered to be basically impossible. The bigger the power gap was between the realms, the harder it was to cross the realm.

But now, Tatsumi was going to do this as a rank 8 magus. It was something unbelievable for most people but she was confident and more importantly, determined.

So as the transformation of the white Lich into a black one was still ongoing, she took out a mana gem which was basically a battery for the magi and release all the mana that she had. If she wanted of use a rank 9 spell as a rank 8 magus, doing this much was the bare minimum.

Then she started to construct the magic formula for the spell that she had in mind. But as her mind was not developed or adaptable enough to handle a rank 9 spell, she was having a very hard time.

But Tatsumi pushed her mind to the absolute limits. So much so that her nose started to bleed. But she did not care about this at all and maintained her focus.

In this situation, Raphaela did not even try to heal her in any way. Even something minor and goodwill filled action like that could cause distraction, which was fatal at this current moment.

So even though everyone was feeling bad in their heart, no one tried to stop her. They all trusted in Tatsumi.

And the lady in question did not let anyone down. She managed to do the impossible and was able to use the Realm Crossing Casting.

But what she did was actually more impressive than simply casting a rank 9 spell. She was actually casting a rank 9 spell with the fundamental source of space, which was infinitely more difficult than any other rank 9 spells.

That was not all. One single rank 9 spell was unable to change this hopeless situation at this point. But two rank 9 spell might just be able to do it. So Tatsumi was not casting a single spell but two actually.

Both of these were too top tier 9th rank spells of the space attribute. But when used together, their synergy was so good that the result was unbelievable, capable of reaching closer to even the almighty rank 10 spell.

And after casting it, Tatsumi immediately fainted and fell on the ground. There was a high possibility that she might remain like this for some time, at least a few weeks.

No matter what kind of healing Raphaela used, everything was useless. Tatsumi had used up her own source to cast these two spells. And now only time or someone non sensical like Elena would be able to heal her.

As for the combined effect of the spells that Tatsumi had used with all her might, it was living up to what she had to sacrifice for it to happen.

The rank 10 spell that the lich was using, it had something to do with the Gravity. But that was now trapped inside the fragmented Dimesion and was unable to effect the real world.

But for a rank 10 lich, escaping this Fragmented Dimesion was not very hard. And that was why Ouranos Fall was there to act as a lid and make sure that the lich would be trapped in this combination spell for at least a day or two. Maybe even more depending on how good or bad the lich was in analysing spells.

The mission that Shin and his team had was to kill the dragon and retrieve the magic mirror. So for this, there was no need for them to fight against a rank 10 powerhouse.

So now, Shin and his group just needed to find the mirror and run away from here. That would be more then good enough to turn them into great heroes.
