Chapter 795: Chapter 795: Everything from Twenty Years Ago, Part 1

The "he" in question was, of course, Aaron Wyatt.

"And what did he do?"

Anger and disappointment flashed in Julian Valerius’s eyes as he continued, "No matter what hardships we faced, I always remembered what Elaine said—that I should never punish him harshly, regardless of his mistakes. But now he’s fallen in love with the daughter of his mother’s killer, defying me without a second thought! He’s truly grown bold!"

"This antidote was formulated specifically for his blood type. It could save him even if he were moments from death. It’s the only one of its kind in the entire world. Elaine and I placed it here with our own hands. She said that no matter what, we had to protect our son. But that treacherous son of mine stole it behind my back to help the daughter of our enemy—a woman who could seriously threaten our position! What a fine son he turned out to be!"

Overcome with emotion, Julian Valerius began to cough.

"Godfather! Take it easy!" Chase Lynch quickly patted him on the back to help him catch his breath.

Julian Valerius was rarely this emotional, but he always became like this when speaking of Aaron Wyatt’s mother. It was a testament to the place she held in his heart.

He took a deep breath, steadying himself. A cold smile touched his lips. "Very well. Since he’s so determined to be ungrateful, then I have no reason to protect him any longer..."

Hearing this, Chase Lynch was confused. "Godfather, you don’t mean..."

Julian Valerius gazed meaningfully at the surveillance feed and smiled. "Then let’s allow Annabelle Linton to go to Country V. It’s about time Country V had a change in leadership."

...

「Three days had passed.」

Today was the day Annabelle Linton could finally remove the gauze from her eyes.

After three days of darkness, the sight of the world outside left Annabelle Linton feeling a little dazed.

’I’ll have to leave this world soon. It’s so sad.’

She sighed softly, got out of bed, ate breakfast, and gathered her things. She even stopped by the research lab to check the latest data.

Afterwards, she discussed potential protocols with the other doctors while preparing for the afternoon’s experiment.

The experiment yielded a small breakthrough: the virus’s growth rate had slowed by five percent. Though it was a minor improvement, Annabelle Linton was still overjoyed.

She could see a glimmer of hope.

When afternoon came, Annabelle Linton changed into a sterile gown and entered the glass-walled room. She had her blood drawn as part of the pre-procedure physical evaluation.

Once the evaluation was complete, she could take the medication and begin the experiment.

’I wonder what’s going to happen with today’s antidote...’ To be honest, Annabelle was slightly apprehensive, but she wouldn’t back down.

Because she had no other choice.

But after she completed all the preparations, no one brought her the medication.

She couldn’t leave the glass room before the experiment. Doing so would disturb the airflow and risk bacterial contamination, which would mean going through the entire sterilization process again upon her return—a huge waste of time.

And right now, time was the most precious thing Annabelle had.

The antidote was a critical component, and Mr. Holland was always the one in charge of it. She asked Mia Holloway why they hadn’t begun, and Mia told her that Mr. Holland hadn’t returned yet.

Annabelle Linton waited a while longer, but Mr. Holland still didn’t appear.

Just as Annabelle was starting to get confused, a call came through from Mr. Holland.

Mia Holloway patched the call through. There was no cell signal in the room, so calls had to be relayed in.

"Hello, Mr. Holland?"

"We’re not doing the experiment today. Come to my hotel room."
