Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 794: Found the Antidote
Chapter 794: Chapter 794: Found the Antidote
"Besides, Country V is very dangerous. As the heir to the throne, I’m afraid Annabelle will never know a day of peace. We could try artificially erasing her memories. Perhaps it will work?" Aaron Wyatt said, his voice laced with concern.
Quentin Holland sighed and said, "We can’t afford to take that risk. Annabelle can’t live without Leona Grant. If she finds out Leona Grant is dead, she’ll lose her will to live."
"Let’s leave it at that for now. As long as they’re alive, anything is possible. The antidote?"
Hearing this, Aaron Wyatt knew there was no other choice.
’If they could afford to take that risk, Quentin Holland would never have sent Annabelle Linton to Country V.’
A dark look flashed in his eyes. "Give me a day," he said in a low voice.
Quentin Holland gave him a profound look, finally patting his shoulder and saying meaningfully, "Be safe. Be careful."
"Okay."
...
「The next day, the sun hung high in the sky.」
But in Country V, it was the dead of night.
In the dead of night, Aaron Wyatt slipped into Julian Valerius’s study.
The key to the antidote box was in Julian Valerius’s study.
Aaron Wyatt walked over and lightly traced the initial of a name on the surface of the desk. Just as he expected, the central part of the desk lowered, revealing a key.
After he took the key, a hidden passage automatically appeared in the center of the study.
Aaron Wyatt descended into the passage. Putting on a pair of night-vision goggles, he easily dodged the infrared beams and arrived at the door of a secret chamber.
Two torches were mounted in front of the chamber door. Aaron Wyatt swapped their positions, and an interface materialized on a nearby stone slab.
Aaron Wyatt entered the password, and the stone door opened.
In the center of the chamber stood a pedestal, on top of which sat a medium-sized, square silver box protected by a glass case.
The antidote was inside that box.
Aaron Wyatt stepped forward and felt around the sides of the pedestal until he found a hollow brick, which he pressed firmly.
A keypad appeared on the pedestal.
Aaron Wyatt entered the password again.
HISS—
The password was correct.
The glass case retracted automatically.
His heart leaped with joy. He took the box, unlocked it with the key, and there it was—the antidote!
Aaron Wyatt couldn’t help but smile. He closed the box and departed as cautiously as he had come.
「In the room opposite.」
On a monitor, surveillance footage played, showing Aaron Wyatt taking the antidote.
"Did he really think he could get away with it, just because he attacked when the Valerius Royal Palace’s firewall is at its weakest? Heh."
As Julian Valerius spoke, a cold light flashed in his eyes.
Chase Lynch, standing respectfully behind Julian Valerius, asked in a low voice, "I don’t understand, Godfather. Why would you deliberately let them take the antidote for Leona Grant? If Leona Grant gets it, wouldn’t all our efforts have been for nothing?"
Julian Valerius smiled, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. He answered the question with one of his own. "Do you know what passwords he just entered?"
Chase Lynch wasn’t sure why he was being asked, but he answered respectfully, "I do not know."
Julian Valerius scoffed, the corners of his mouth pulling into a mocking sneer. "It was Elaine’s name... and her birthday."
’Elaine... Elaine Wyatt. Aaron Wyatt’s birth mother.’
Chase Lynch’s eyes widened in shock as understanding dawned on him.
A distant look clouded Julian Valerius’s eyes. He spoke, seemingly out of nowhere, "Back when Elaine was still alive, she made me promise to treat him well, no matter what. That I had to forgive him for any mistake, because he was the continuation of our life and our love. I agreed to every word."
