Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 793: Found the Antidote 6
Chapter 793: Chapter 793: Found the Antidote 6
"Right now, we only have one dose of the antidote. My original plan was to have Annabelle come here to serve as the initial test subject. We would try to buy time for her using technology while also doing our best to develop a cure for Leona Grant. As for whether we’d succeed... that would be entirely up to fate."
"If we couldn’t develop a new one, we would wait for Leona Grant to die. Then we’d use the antidote to cure the virus in Annabelle, erase all her memories, take her abroad, and give her a new environment to start over."
"But I never imagined Annabelle would discover the test subjects. I certainly never expected her to experiment on her own body.
Her body simply can’t take it anymore. If this continues, she could actually die from these experiments. We have no choice but to tell her the truth."
Aaron Wyatt understood.
’So Quentin Holland brought Annabelle Linton here to develop the antidote as a pretext. His real goal was to pave the way for her eventual departure.’
’Once Leona Grant died, Quentin would cure Annabelle. Then he would tell everyone here that Annabelle Linton couldn’t get over Leona Grant and was going abroad to take her mind off things. That way, no one would grow suspicious.’
’That explained why, with no lab mice to test on, he would rather let Annabelle Linton risk her life than allow Leona Grant to be the subject.’
’It also explained why he covered for Annabelle Linton when she was unconscious and constantly monitored Leona Grant’s every move.’
’Leona Grant had actually placed his own people here to protect Annabelle Linton in secret, but Quentin Holland had bought them all off.’
’Leona Grant had secretly checked on Annabelle Linton’s condition behind her back, but Quentin had tampered with the results.’
’With a mind like Leona Grant’s, it was impossible for him not to have noticed something was wrong. Annabelle Linton wasn’t that great of an actress, either. But Quentin Holland had been manipulating everything from the shadows.’
’That was why, even now, Leona Grant still hadn’t found out about Annabelle Linton’s true condition.’
In Quentin Holland’s eyes, Leona Grant was just a jerk who had hurt Annabelle Linton for over twenty years. But Annabelle Linton loved him so desperately that she had forgotten all her past suffering.
But as her older brother, he could never accept a brother-in-law like that.
Saving him was merely a precaution.
He just never expected Annabelle Linton would go to such lengths for Leona Grant.
Now, there’s no way Annabelle Linton will last long enough for Leona Grant to die first, which means the plan to erase her memory is no longer an option.
Aaron Wyatt pressed his lips together. "We could tell Leona Grant everything," he suggested. "Get him to cooperate with erasing Annabelle’s memory.
I’m sure he’ll agree. With his help, it’ll be much easier to send Annabelle abroad. After everything she’s done for him, and after how he’s wronged her for so many years... it’s the least he can do."
Quentin Holland frowned, his voice laced with frustration. "It’s not that I didn’t consider that plan before, but it’s not foolproof.
The reason I came up with my original plan was that I underestimated the depth of their feelings for each other. Annabelle is willing to die for Leona Grant—she even said they could use her body for experiments after she’s dead.
Amnesia comes in two forms: accidental or induced. Annabelle’s obsession with Leona Grant runs too deep. An artificially induced amnesia might hold for a while, but not forever. If she ever finds out that Leona Grant died, she definitely won’t go on living without him.
Now, our only option is to tell her the truth. This antidote is for Leona Grant.
Country V has an antidote for her. It seems Annabelle is destined to leave after all."
"But if Annabelle goes to Country V now, then what was the point of protecting her all these years and keeping her in the dark?"
