Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 661: You’re My Wife, Who Else Would I Hug?
Chapter 661: Chapter 661: You’re My Wife, Who Else Would I Hug?
Annabelle Linton looked down as she fastened his last button. Hearing his comment, she looked up at him, confused. "What’s different?"
’I don’t know. It just feels... different.’
’Hmm... Is it that she’s smiling more? More playful, more prone to joking? No, that’s not it. She’s usually like this. But it just feels different. There’s a feeling I can’t quite describe.’
Leona Grant looked down at her, his gaze meeting her large, clear eyes.
Her eyelashes were thick, long, and perfectly curled, as beautiful as false ones, fluttering delicately.
With her bright eyes, pearly teeth, and an indescribable allure, meeting her gaze for more than three seconds was enough to make anyone’s heart race.
Leona Grant moved in the upper echelons of society. He’d encountered countless women of all types—voluptuous, slender, you name it—all trying to get close to him. Honestly, he’d seen more of them than he’d eaten meals.
But he had to admit, beauty like Annabelle Linton’s was truly a rare sight.
Leona Grant gazed at her perfect face, then lifted her into his arms and kissed her forehead. "You’ve gotten even more beautiful."
"Thank you." Annabelle Linton chuckled as he held her up again. "I’ve noticed you really love picking me up."
"You’re my wife. Who else would I hold?"
Leona Grant raised an eyebrow as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "If it were up to me, I’d hold you every day."
Hearing this, Annabelle Linton asked with another laugh, "Wouldn’t I be too heavy for that?"
"Not at all. I could carry two of you." As he spoke, Leona Grant looked at her slender face and frowned. "You’re too thin. Looks like I’ll have to tell the kitchen to start making you more nourishing meals."
Annabelle Linton was exasperated. "Oh, stop. I’m perfectly fine as I am. What if I get fat and you start to dislike me?"
Leona Grant’s expression suddenly turned serious. He said solemnly, "How could I ever dislike you? Even if you weighed 400 pounds, your face was ruined, and you became the ugliest person in the world, I would never, ever dislike you."
"You mean that?"
Leona Grant gazed at her with deep, earnest affection. "I mean it."
For a moment, Annabelle Linton was at a loss for words as she looked into his deeply affectionate eyes.
After a moment of silence, she smiled and said, "Are you free tonight?"
Leona Grant’s eyes lit up in an instant. "I am. What position?"
Annabelle Linton: "..."
’Seriously, is his mind ever out of the gutter?’
Annabelle Linton cupped his face, gave him a quick kiss on the lips, and said, "There’s a charity gala tonight."
Leona Grant understood what she was getting at almost immediately, but he played dumb. "And?"
Annabelle Linton kissed him again. "I want you to go with me."
’Of course he was willing. This was the first time she’d ever invited him to a public event with her.’
’Still, this seemed like a good opportunity.’
The corners of Leona Grant’s lips curled up. "Are you inviting me?"
"Mm-hmm."
Leona Grant’s smile deepened. He gave her a suggestive look. "You know my time is very valuable. What are you going to offer to entice me?"
"..."
’His time was valuable? What exactly was he doing right now?’
’The charity gala isn’t until after he gets off work. The man rushes home the second his workday is over, and he has the gall to say his time is valuable?’
Annabelle Linton sneered inwardly for what felt like a full minute.
Finally, she said with a sigh of resignation, "Just put me down first."
"Not putting you down."
"I have something for you. Now, put me down."
"For me?" Leona Grant immediately set her down, asking excitedly, "What is it?"
