Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 523: Lethal Corp

Chapter 523: Lethal Corp

Despite the overwhelmingly grim situation, Xu Feng continued to remain calm and collected.

It wasn't that he had anticipated this kind of scene, but rather being shocked or panicked wouldn't help resolve the situation. Instead, it would only lower his members' morale and decrease the chance of fighting back.

As one after another continued to leave through the open pathway created by the ambushers, only a few people remained.

They were none other than Gentle Wind, Autumn Breeze, Blake, and surprisingly Herald Fist and Iceheart.

"Oh, your guildmates left, but why are you still here?" Xu Feng asked in a surprised tone.

Iceheart hailed from the Phoenix Guild, but all her members had already exited through the open pathway. By theory, she should have left as well, considering that the other people Xu Feng saw had their guildmates remained on the scene.

"Hmph, I'm merely repaying a personal favor, and has nothing to do with the Phoenix Guild." Iceheart rolled her eyes and snorted, subtly pointing at her upper right chest.

Her intention wasn't telling Xu Feng to peek at her chest, but rather the empty spot that should have her Guild Emblem equipped.

The Phoenix Guild had the typical red flame phoenix as the guild emblem, ensuring that others would recognize them right away.

By unequipping it, Iceheart was essentially declaring that this was her personal matter, and not related to the Phoenix Guild's action or stance.

"You should probably just leave with your other guild mates." Carmen chimed in and suggested. She was definitely grateful for her action, but there was no point for her to remain here. She might be a Berserker, but even she would be swarmed to death when facing 300-plus ambushers.

And speaking of 300-plus ambushers, Carmen seriously couldn't help but wonder just where and how these ambushers gathered together.

Did they sacrifice all their sleep to grind for equipment and levels?

Sometime later, the ambushers' proxy voice speaker, Brian, spoke loudly.

"This is Brian of the Lethal Corp speaking and a final warning to those unrelated to the Vanguard Guild. You have 3 minutes left to decide whether to be buried here alive with them or leave for safety!" Brian announced loudly.

Shortly after his announcement, the faces of those who stayed frowned deeply.

Lethal Corp was a Super Guild, and their manpower, funds, and resources quadrupled them.

"How come the Lethal Corp arrived here?" Blake twitched the corner of his mouth, finding this unbelievable.

Even Iceheart, who had intended to stay, was stupefied by the ambushers' background.

"They're from the Lethal Corp?" Astonished, Iceheart finally realized why the ambushers were so arrogant and unafraid of offending every other guild.

No, it was more accurate to say that she finally comprehended why Sunblade from the Starlight Guild was so quick to exit without much of a word.

Sunblade must have realized the ambushers' identity, so he readily left to avoid offending them.

When comparing their guild with the Lethal Corp, no one would be willing to cross the latter unless it revolved around their life and death.

Gentle Wind, Autumn Breeze, and Herald Fist's expression also turned solemn. Clearly, the trio realized this was not something they could just dabble upon.

After all, the background of the Lethal Corp was from a conglomerate in a first-grade city capable of ruining their businesses with a few words.

"What's the Lethal Corp?" Remaining unaware of the name, Carmen inquired Xu Feng softly. She was not someone who dabbled much in games, so she failed to recognize the Lethal Corp's name.

"You've heard of Lethal Finance, right?" Xu Feng lightly responded.

"Lethal Finance? The conglomerate ranked in the top 200 in the world?" As Carmen answered that, she realized something major.

"You mean this Lethal Corp background is that of Lethal Finance?" Startled, Carmen failed to understand why such a major conglomerate would form such a large group of people to ambush them.

"They're probably enticed or lured by the actual president of the GRIM Corporation. Otherwise, they wouldn't have made a move." Xu Feng calmly explained, not finding it overly surprising that the Lethal Corp would show up.

During the past timeline, he had the opportunity to dine with both the presidents of the GRIM Corporation and Lethal Finance. Apparently, the heir of the GRIM Corporation was interested in the heiress of Lethal Finance, so there were talks of them being merged as one.

It was just a pity that Xu Feng never had the chance to meet with the heiress, given that she went MIA (missing in action).

And that was also soon followed by another stronger company that wanted to collaborate with the GRIM Corporation, thus, the discussion naturally ended without much further development.

So in a sense, Lethal Finance at the current moment should still have some close ties with the Reaver Guild. It was just that Xu Feng couldn't pinpoint what exactly made Lethal Finance commence such an operation.

While Xu Feng was trying to find some connection, Blake and Herald Fist approached Xu Feng with an apologetic tone.

And before the two could open their mouths to speak, Xu Feng raised his hand up. "No need to feel apologetic if you wish to leave. I won't hold any grudges since the enemy this time seemed a bit too tricky."

Having said that, Blake and Herald Fist glanced at each other briefly with an awkward expression.

As much as they wanted to build a friendly relationship with Xu Feng, the risks and cons were simply too much for them to handle. Stay tuned with My Virtual Library Empire

Aside from the fact that Blake was just a Guild Captain, Herald Fist was a Guild Leader and needed to consider his position first. To pick a fight with the Lethal Finance was equivalent to wanting his heir role stripped and banished from the family.

The duo didn't even leave any messages behind such as blessing or hoping they would be fine, having fully known it was useless.

As they gathered their guildmates and exited through the open pathway, Brian held a cold grin on his face. 'To force me to proclaim my identity, these two are really brainless.'
