Chapter 522: Stealth Cloaks
Chapter 522: Stealth Cloaks
Carmen was so dazed that she failed to detect the enemies, wondering if she was lacking.
However, she was reassured when Xu Feng explained the reasoning. "These ambushers are rather skilled and rich. They equipped themselves with Stealth Cloaks, which conceal their presence in the system map."
Having said that, Xu Feng's group was quickly surrounded by enemies from all sides, the other remaining raid members who had just come out of the dungeon, were dumbfounded by the scene.
"Are these players trying to rob us?" Blake twitched the corner of his mouth and asked in disbelief. It had surely been a long time since someone dared to pull such a stunt against their Solaris Guild.
"It's just right that I haven't warmed up enough." Herald Fist, however, was amused by the situation. He had made a name for himself by being a tough fighter, so he would never back down or be frightened by an ambush.
"I supposed we're still cooperating for the moment." Gentle Wind chimed in and said, narrowing her eyes at the large number of ambushers.
Overall, their side consisted of 70 or so players, but the ambushers actually seemed to be numbered about 300.
To be able to gather that many players with decent equipment, it was hard to tell exactly which force these ambushers belonged to.
While the others also seemed surprised by the enemy's sheer numbers and were prepared for a brutal fight after the raid, they heard the enemy shouting very loudly.
"Those unrelated to the Vanguard Guild may exit through here. We have no plans or intentions of harming anyone unrelated to them. As long as you exit through the path here without making any sudden moves, our people will not attack you!"
Startled, baffled, and dumbfounded by the enemy's shout, the people soon realized they were charging only after the Vanguard Guild.
Despite knowing they won't be harmed if they exit, the main question comes now.
Should they or should they not leave the scene?
Of course, the majority of them were thinking if they could still qualify for the upcoming auction in the Elemental Warrior Set if they were to ditch them alone.
The risk was too much, considering the ambushers had so many players on their side. Continue your adventure at My Virtual Library Empire
Amidst their predicament in the decision to choose, Carmen stood up and asked Xu Feng, "Guild Leader, should I start making a move?"
"No need to rush." Xu Feng shook his head and similarly stood up. "I'm more curious as to who will leave and who will stay."
When Xu Feng said that, he made sure the viewers who remained after the stream was done, could hear his statement. In fact, those who remained were currently filled with excitement, believing this was a good post-credit scene or afterparty as Xu Feng proposed.
Naturally, not many viewers were satisfied with the anti-climatic boss battle in the raid and wanted more action. Hence, so many donations were gifted to them upon noticing it turned from PVE to PVP.
PVE stood for Player Versus Environment, which described the dungeon raid with players going against monsters.
On the other hand, PVP stood for Player Versus Player— the current situation and wasn't that much different from player killing.
The only difference between the two was that PVP could also be used in Arena in which both players agreed to certain terms and conditions to initiate a duel whereas Player Killing (PK) was specifically about a player killing another with or without honor and integrity.
[Gahh, a PVP against 300+ players. How will Guild Leader Lin Feng survive this one!]
[I doubt he could pull off the same maneuver done to the Sentinel. Players aren't going to fall for his trick.]
[Hehe, I've lost a lot of money because of the raid being successful, so I wonder if we should make a bet on how fast Guild Leader Lin Feng would die.]
[Agreed, that region-wide system announcement is still haunting me at the moment!]
As OneManMedia read the viewers' comments, he knew that the situation was extremely grim. Even those who had previously glorified Xu Feng and praised him, changed sides and started betting on how fast he would die.
After all, it was 300 plus players versus 10 Vanguard Guild members if the rest decided to ditch them.
'Did Guild Leader seriously plan on waiting for them?' OneManMedia was nervous, given the Eternal Guild was the first to leave.
DeathLingers still hoped to remain, but DarkSage's tone was rather cold.
"Are you going to take responsibility for your remaining members' deaths?" DarkSage scolded rather harshly.
"And the Guild Leader said they wanted us to ensure the Rare equipment be returned to the guild safely." He added, reminding DeathLingers that Emberwolf's rare item was dropped and looted by them.
DeathLingers could only stay silent toward DarkSage's scolding. Without a doubt, DarkSage was displeased about his actions in going behind his back to establish a contract with the Vanguard Guild. It was like a slap to the face in his authority and reputation.
However, knowing it was one thing, and trying to do something was another.
DarkSage was a veteran, so his explanation sounded extremely reasonable and logical despite being laced with prejudice and bias.
In the end, DeathLingers nodded his head and left along with the rest of the Eternal Guild members, making their stance very clear.
Meanwhile, the ambushers didn't go back on their words one bit, gracefully opening a bright pathway for them to leave without making a single move.
"The Eternal Guild sure are realistic people." Carmen sarcastically said, her opinion of them further dropping.
"No need to mind the result." Xu Feng lightly chuckled and shook his head.
"If I were DarkSage, then I would have chosen the option to leave as well. Our relationship had merely been a business one, and now that the business was done, there was no need to stay any longer." He continued, finding DarkSage's action very much aligned with his thought process.
"Are you not a bit angry though?" Carmen pouted, clearly still somewhat infuriated at how swiftly they made a choice.
"Why would I be angry?" Xu Feng laughed and shrugged. "The ones who would be angry and punching empty air soon wouldn't be me anyway."
