Chapter 504: Golem Sentinel
Chapter 504: Golem Sentinel
As the floor level turned uneven, with many struggling to balance themselves for the sudden situation, some began to notice the Golem Sentinel moving.
"We're going to fight in such a disadvantageous state?"
"Is this seriously a dungeon raid and not the final boss in this major update?"
Without a doubt, many began to despair, considering the debuff icons that had disappeared after the clearance of the 10 oppressive pillars had re-emerged on their status screen.
To make things worse was the fact that the debuff had gone up to 40%, a whopping 5% increase from the original debuff.
In other words, if the oppressive pillars had not been cleared, then their overall debuff percentage would have been 75%.
Just who the hell could fight a boss monster with 25% of their overall strength?
Sure, it could have been possible if the boss's level was lower than theirs by a lot, but the truth was often disappointing and miserable.
The Golem Sentinel was level 35, with its health points being at 500,000.
500,000 health points wouldn't have been daunting when their skills hit up to 2-5000 damage. But with the debuff active and the boss' attributes, plus the shifted environment along with two more Elite Enemies types assisting the boss.
Not many believed the raid could be salvageable.
"T-This is insanity!!" OneManMedia's eyes boggled in shock while the comment section became flooded with many different Anonymous Users either praying for their life or downfall.

Naturally, those who had voted for them to fail were filled with joy and laughter, counting how much they were going to earn.
Aside from all these terrible things already, some of their members were caught by the shifting environment and were situated at a lower level altitude than the main group.
The platform of the floor wasn't wide enough to contain all the players in one spot.
While most were feeling despair, confused, and startled. There were only a few left motivated and determined, with Xu Feng being rather calm by the development.
'Golem Sentinel isn't that difficult to kill.' He thought to himself, albeit calculating how many players would soon drop like flies.
Given that the Golem Sentinel was a Boss Type similar to the Inferno Tyrant from the Scorched Caverns, there were naturally multiple phases. The difference between them was that the phases in the Inferno Tyrant could be managed, but not for the Golem Sentinel.
Each phase of the Golem Sentinel could be described in one word: cancerous.
Yup, it was so cancerous that Xu Feng had to decide which players must bear the burden of each new phase.
'Clerics cannot be sacrificed, but DPS and Tanks are another story. I have to keep them at a ratio of 1:3.' He thought to himself, having decided who to sacrifice.
This was not him being cold-blooded or ruthless in determining who he despised and wanted to get them killed.
Instead, this was called tactic and being clever in which specific player to sacrifice, similar to how in a chess game, the players would sacrifice their pawn, bishop, rook, knight, or even their queen to create an ideal scenario for them to checkmate.
As Xu Feng narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing the movement and action of the Golem Sentinel, he was ready to order people to rush to their deaths.
And without any hesitation, the players he had chosen were none other than Herald Fist's affected Tanks from before.
With how ridiculous they had caused the raid, it was only right that they'd be the first to get selected for such honor. This was especially true for Lanceroy who nearly caused him a fright in losing Carmen.
Meanwhile, the Golem Sentinel, who was towering over the battlefield, was made entirely of dark, weathered stone, with mysterious carvings etched into its massive frame, stretched its body after being dormant for so long.
Its body gleamed with a faint molten glow from within the cracks, almost as if molten lava was flowing through its core.
And with each movement of its limbs, it caused deep rumbles sensation through the ground, creating a domineering aura.
As the players dreaded the current atmosphere, the Golem Sentinel took a moment to shift into its battle stance. Its massive arms stretched outwards, and its legs widened, giving it a grounded, immovable posture.
The sentinel's head tilted downward slightly, its glowing eyes locking onto the group of players. Then, with a low, guttural roar, it slammed one of its stone fists into the floor, sending shockwaves through the uneven terrain.
'The first phase has begun.' Alarmed, Xu Feng quickly commanded Lanceroy and the other previously distorted Tanks to quickly jump off their platform and charge to the front.
"Hurry up and stop the Sentinel from slamming his fist on the ground!" He shouted loudly.
Phase one of the Golem Sentinel was known as Ground Smash, which sounded simplistic and non-threatening. However, names were not the reason for a skill or phase to be powerful or weak. Instead, it was the threatening force it could muster up.
During the first phase, the Sentinel mainly used overwhelming physical attacks such as sweeping their massive arms and stomping on the ground to cause shockwaves and AOE damage to the players.
Aside from that, the environmental hazards would subsequently change for the worse, with debris capable of falling from random places and times, followed by occasional violent floor shaking to prevent players from balancing.
Just these two capabilities of the Golem Sentinel were a headache to deal with, but it was not as problematic as its first ground smash.
Its first ground smash was capable of creating large craters, which could easily eliminate more than 75% of them in one go if they failed to stop it on time.
And Xu Feng was positive that the Golem Sentinel intended to cause the craters precisely on his platform.
That Golem Sentinel didn't glow its eyes for cosmetic reasons but rather calculated the trajectory and terrain, including their escape routes.
"I don't care if you will die or not, but you must prevent the Sentinel from slamming its fist down toward our direction!" Xu Feng exclaimed loudly, his voice extremely solemn and determined.
