Chapter 1364: Aetheria Empire Part 11
Chapter 1364: Aetheria Empire Part 11
As the Tier 4 Summoner fell for Xu Feng’s deceiving act as an ignorant, the former soon lost interest in conversing.
"Origin power is what enabled us to break through the limits of our class. So tell me... where did you stumble across the place that allows you to receive such power!" The Tier 4 Summoner demanded coldly.
"Why should I tell you for free?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow.
"Do you want to die?"
"I’m an Immortal. The best you can do is try to track and kill me repeatedly. But if I hide in cities, do you dare to enter?"
"..."
Upon hearing that, the Tier 4 Summoner realized the latter might not be that ignorant. Maybe he was just ignorant of the Origin power and not others.
For the sake of the Origin power, the Tier 4 Summoner decided to be lenient and allowed his rude remarks to pass.
"Then speak, what do you want in exchange for the information?"
It was well known that Immortals were unkillable. Even if they were killed repeatedly, they would still come back sooner or later. Moreover, nobody would have the time to actually camp for them.
They could easily teleport to other cities for safety or even use other means to escape their tracking.
Not to mention, trying to kill in cities was extremely risky unless the city itself was under siege.
It was precisely because of this point that Xu Feng took advantage of the situation.
’Now who’s the desperate one?’ He sneered inwardly. He might be inferior to the enemy in terms of raw power. But in terms of leverage, he definitely held the upper hand.
"First, I want to know your name and what your objective is in the Oracle Region." Xu Feng asked calmly.
"My name is Cedric. As for my objective... You already know. I’m hunting down the armies sent by the Aetheria Empire." The hound responded in a snarky tone.
’Cedric? Isn’t this one of the demonic lunatic summoners under the Hell Lord who uses NPC as a base to construct demons?’ Xu Feng nearly lost his composure and slipped up.
Cedric must have been certain that nobody had heard of his name, which was why he dared to expose his real name.
As for the latter reason, Xu Feng only believed it at 50 percent. Someone like Cedric wouldn’t have come all the way out here just to hunt down a scout army.
A bigger conspiracy was definitely in place.
Unfortunately, he had no recollection of this plot line ever happening in the past timeline.
The butterfly effect was showing.
"Anyway, I have answered your doubts. Shouldn’t it be your turn?" The hound, or more specifically, the Tier 4 Summoner Cedric, demanded. Their patience was running thin, especially after answering two of his questions disguised as one.
"I stumbled upon it near the town of Necro Valley." Xu Feng responded and gave the precise coordinates.
Sure enough, the hound frowned deeply.
"Necro Valley? Was there even such a place to begin with?" They had studied the geography recorded in the document and didn’t seem to recall a place named Necro Valley.
’Heh, Necro Valley’s the new town constructed by the Necro Alliance. Since they wanted to mess with me, it’s only right to repay them some interest.’ Xu Feng thought to himself.
Using others as a blade against his enemies was always the ideal move. Not only does it save him the trouble of acting personally, but it also helps conceal his involvement in their destruction.
"Sir Cedric, the Necro Valley is an Immortal town. I went there to visit once, but they blocked off some areas, preventing anyone from entering. Curiosity got the best of me, so I secretly went to check." Xu Feng said in a very convincing tone.
Making up a fake story with a mixture of truth and falsehood was guaranteed to persuade the Tier 4 Summoner to investigate.
After all, people of their level would investigate even a tiny detail that could help increase their strength.
"The Necro Valley, huh." Cedric hissed coldly. "How do I know if you’re lying to me or not?"
"Give me one reason why I would lie when I’m surrounded by your summoned hounds? And if I wish to lie, then why would I give you such a specific coordinate and location of where I stumble across the place?"
Upon hearing that, Cedric indeed paused for a second.
He did have a point.
Was there really a need to be that precise and detailed if it was just a lie?
Or maybe it was a real place, but the location was something he had a grudge against.
"Speak, did you have a grudge with the Necro Valley? Want to use me as your weapon to take revenge, huh?" Cedric questioned coldly.
Xu Feng shrugged in response. "I’ve given you all the information. It’s your choice to believe me or not."
He wasn’t surprised Cedric would be suspicious and even deduced his true intention.
Tier 4 powerhouse NPC was not something to be trifled with. Their intelligence was akin to having an AI system built within them, but even better.
Sometime later, Cedric decided to mark down the location. During this time, he suddenly became alarmed when the summoned hounds he sent to chase after the group went haywire.
"What’s going on?" Cedric hurriedly changed his perspective. Soon, he discovered his hounds seemed to be out of control and were attacking each other.
"Looks like your summoned hounds decided to have a battle royale to see who’s the king of the jungle." Amidst his bewilderment, Xu Feng suddenly chuckled in amusement.
"You did this?" Instantly, Cedric turned his attention to him and glared with glowing eyes.
"I did this?" Baffled, he placed his hand on his chest and spread his arms wide.
"How could I possibly make a move behind your back? I’m surrounded and scrutinized by you heavily."
Cedric was rendered speechless. He felt something was amiss with the explanation, but he also couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was wrong.
